From SunStroke’s thrusting Epic Sax Guy to Eduard Romanyuta’s barely-dressed policewomen, Moldova is known for thinking outside-the-box at Eurovision. And during the grand final of Eurovision 2018 this evening, they’ll do it again with a wall and a series of doors that hide plenty of surprises.

DoReDoS — the bubbly trio known for their over-the-top facial expressions — pop in and out of the structure, telling the story of a complicated romance and rather amusing misunderstanding. The leading lady — that’s Marina Djundiet — oozes sass as her bandmates Eugeniu Andrianov and Sergiu Mita grow increasingly confused on where they stand with her. Each artist comes with a doppelgänger dancer, who help their counterpart open and shut the doors and windows. And at times they scale hidden ladders and rungs.

Today the trio have released a behind-the-scenes video which films the performance from the other side of the doors.

As you can see in the video above, there isn’t much wiggle room. The three singers and dancers must work with great precision as they open and close the trap doors. There’s little room for error: Make a mistake or show a bit too much of yourself and the illusion is ruined.

Are you loving this video as much as we are? Are you impressed with all the Moldovan ingenuity? Let us know in the comments box below!

Pretty awesome to see how they made it all work. A lot more chaotic back there than you’d think!

Also loved that they were each in one of Moldova’s flag colors.

Moldova’s given us some fun acts over the past three years, and I’m glad they got another Top 10.

This song is just so dull.

Wow… They deserve every single point they got and more for such a performance 😮

The first shoe change in the Eurovision history?

Brilliant! I would have needed hundreds of rehearsals and yet, I’d have made more than one mistake

That’s absolutely brilliant. This is the kind of performance we’ll always remember and revisit. Creativity as its best.

Why did they use real humans instead of a projection of the band members.

This is one of those songs that only exists in Eurovision land and it’s fantastic. It’s a good quality fun song with very inventive staging. The fact they sing in tune along with the moves is very impressive. Hope to see them in the Top 10 at least.

I’m still not a fan of the song, but this staging is honestly one of the best I’ve seen at Eurovision in recent years

I’ve been wondering about the third high-heels, now I know. Lol.

The song is horrible, but just because of this performance they deserve a good result! It’s so well done! Congrats, Moldova!!!

This is great. What clever people can do when they know they can’t spend a lot of money. You must use your imagination, and this is how art is born.

Yeah! Compared to the money spent on Elina’s dress…

I believe Fokas Evangelinos from Greece did the staging.

As much as I dislike the song, this novelty staging is entertaining and was fun to watch the BtS footage.
