In December, the participants for Eurovision – Australia Decides were announced to the public, revealing some very familiar faces, some throwbacks and some fresh acts to boot.

While the sunny Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre prepared to host, we wanted to know which of the artists you wanted to take the crown. After counting a total of 3,486 votes — we can confirm that (almost) absolutely everybody is backing Vanessa Amorosi and “Lessons Of Love”

Vanessa Amorosi is your favourite to win Eurovision — Australia Decides 2020

Vanessa received 800 votes, taking 22.95% of the overall ballot.

Selling over two million albums in her career, Vanessa Amorosi has proven her versatility across many genres, including, pop, rock, blues, jazz, and gospel. Vanessa’s songwriting ability and dynamic vocal range have led to four critically acclaimed studio albums, as well as 16 ARIA and APRA nominations.

One of her biggest accolades was performing at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics and at the Paralympic Games, singing the Olympic song titled “Heroes Live Forever”.

She enjoyed a worldwide hit in 1999 with “Absolutely Everybody”.

Coming in at a close second, with 695 votes and 19.94% of the overall vote is indie-pop singer and bookies’ favourite Montaigne.

Speaking about her haunting track “Don’t Break Me”, Montaigne says:

“Don’t Break Me” is a depiction of the enough is enough phase of a relationship breakdown, where one person feels like they are putting much more time, energy and resources into the relationship than the other person and becomes frustrated and resentful. I wrote it while reading Codependent No More by Melody Beattie, which really informed the qualities of the character and the relationship dynamic.”

Of course, everything is still to play for. These results are just what our readers think and don’t factor in live performances.

Sheppard’s position? Will it become a thing for the most famous to finish 3rd? 😀 I think this selection is wide open. The most difficult to point the winner.
