Sanremo 2022: Ana Mena “Duecentomila ore”
Ana Mena previously performed at the Sanremo Festival in 2020 as a guest of singer Riki. The two sang “L’edera” by Nilla Pizzi together during the evening dedicated to covers. Two months ago, Ana also released “Música ligera,” her Spanish version of Colapesce & Dimartino’s “Musica leggerissima” — one of Sanremo 2021’s most successful songs.
The artist has a strong bond with the Italian kermesse. In an interview she said: “I have always watched the Sanremo Festival and for some time I have tried to take part in it. It was my father who transmitted to me the love for Italian music, making me know artists such as Mina, Matia Bazar and Ricchi e Poveri”.
What do the “Duecentomila ore” lyrics mean?
Rocco Hunt has signed for his friend Ana Mena — the artist with whom he has duetted on the summer hits “A un passo dalla luna” e “Un bacio all’improvviso” — the song that represents her Sanremo debut. It is a song to dance to, where Latin sounds meet that unmistakable folk imprint of an accordion.
Ana Mena explains her track: “It’s a special song. It’s about a love story that burns out quickly. If it were a color, it would probably be a deep red. It works because of the contrast between a sensual musical background and a melancholic melody, which stays in your head from the first listen.”
