Once again Valentina Monetta represent the tiny country of San Marino at Eurovision. Will she make it to the finals this time? With the release of her official video for “Maybe”–her glossiest yet–she’s doing her best to make Europe answer YES.

The official release of the entry will take place tonight, but the Italian and English versions are already circulating on the internet. Let’s have a look at the the official video of ‘Maybe’.

Here are the studio versions of both songs.

Italian version – Forse

English version – Maybe

What do you think of the official video? The white dress is meant to honour the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen. Does it? And which version do you prefer? We would love to know what y’all think – so comment below!

I hope she’ll stick to Italian too. This sounds like it could’ve been a winner from another decade. I do enjoy it, but it probably won’t make it again. But now she must be really established back home. Can’t we see some other singers from San Marino? 😛

I agree, the song is not the best … But did you see the other songs of her semifinal???

A lot of them sucks!!! And propably most of them will qualify and Valentina not… Very unfair

This girl has talent and a great voice, I wish she has a 4th opportunity (xDD) to sing jazz (whatch on youtube) and will make two records:

1- First singer 4 times in Eurovision
2- San Marino in the grand final

@Spirk Amazing and Heartbeat are not ballads.

When she came with the Facebook song, she looked and sounded absolutely crappy … then she came back with the mix of old fashioned Italian ballad with “I will survive”-esque disco moment … and became too damn popular for reasons beyond my understanding. The same repeats itself this time around … but for the most part she stayed into the Italian big classic 70s ballad … and 70s why? Because Italy sounded just like this in 70s Eurovision (yes kids, there was Eurovision way before we could pray the gay way!) … will that help her in 2014? And is… Read more »

I understand why he would use the English language. Because it could be that the Italian language it will receive a low voice as last year. We see Ex Soviet, Azerbaijan, Latvia, Belarus, and Malta always use English. Although many do not like. They often qualify for the final part (except Latvia). Therefore, Vale uses English, but speaking Italian even better

Please Valentina, sing in Italian!!

In English the song is very poor, but in Italian is a charming and lovely song.

Superb. Perhaps pure perfectness. She surpassed herself once more. Perfetto San Marino! Ballads like ”Amazing” from Estonia or ”Heartbeat” from Ireland may be ok, but are nothing in front of this huge song.

I agree with Ill Pluet… Valentina was my 2013 winner. disappointed that this song for me does not live upto her entry last year. I would love her to reach the final… I reall hope she does.

@Robyn. Now you’ve got me thinking of Mika Newton.

I was fully prepared to be disappointed, but this is pretty good.
I actually prefer the English version in this case; it lifts the song out of the music slightly so they don’t blend too much. Her accent is fine.

It’s an okay song, it would be an amazing song if Valentina sings in Italian!

Very talented, excellent voice owner…..This song isn`t bad………..But last year`s song is my ESC2013 winner…..( I don`t like and never listen danish entry……Like the singer, Emmelie but hate the song…anyway )…..Love that song very much……In 2012 I liked her as well……….Just her stage presentation wasn`t right….Music was good……..This time, I hope she`ll make it through the final….Good luck Valentina Monetta and San-marino……

I have a real soft spot for San Marino And Valentina in particular, so I hope she qualifies. Like many others, I feel it is a little old fashioned which I like, but she may not gather votes. I’m not sure Siegel is the best choice of composer.

I actually love this song. I feel that people don’t like it because it’s ‘not as good as Crisalide.’ Also I feel that people are doubting this qualifying. This song is probably easier for her to sing than with Crisalide, gaining jury votes. Also, this is obviously better than The Facebook Song, which got 14th in a strong year, and this year is a weak year. I’m hoping to finally see San Marino in the final!

Terribly old fashioned sound, and a little Bond’ish a la an upbeat Skyfall.
Nice enough on it’s own, and it certainly grows on you, but appropriate for Eurovision 2014?
Middle of the road at best, forgettable at worse – doubt it can stand on its own.
Her American accented English (song) style really grates – whatever happened to singing without an accent?

Although not as strong as her song last year, you cannot compare it. You must compare it to the songs in her semi-final. And it’s better than at least 4 songs in that semi so far.

It’s good in Italian, but needs more power and oomph. Dunno if it would qualify or not.

English version is just crap.

I wonder, if she doesn’t qualify again, will she be back next year, becoming the first artist to compete 4 times in a row? 😛 No I’m not hoping that, but the sole idea amuses me haha.
As for the song, I do like it, but so far I don’t think is better than Crisallide. Even so I hope she qualifies, even if in 10th position!

Who are we fouling? From start it was a bad idea to come the third year in a row. No matter the result she needs a break from ESC.

Monetta will sing in Italian if she wants to qualify in the final. She can’t sing English well

Don’t like either of them, and I doubt Valentina will be able to qualify. However, hardcore ESC fans will obsess over it because they love her for some reason. If Valentina couldn’t qualify with “Crisalide (Vola)”, a song way better than this, she won’t be able to qualify with “Forse/Maybe”, a song that isn’t really too good.

In the year where many entries are coming from left-field and many are jazzy sounding, this great jazz singer comes with a pale copy of last year’s song. God oh why.

This song is dreadful. And of course ESC fans will love it because it is known that they love this kind of songs. Meh…

I don’t find this even a little bit entertaining.

San Marino, better luck next time, with some other Monetta song.
