On April 6 the people of Brighton staged a special concert to mark the 40th anniversary of ABBA’s Eurovision victory in the Brighton Dome. As part of the festivities organisers invited our favourite Sanmarinese diva Valentina Monetta to sing her Eurovision 2014 song “Maybe”.

In between rehearsals and her performance, Valentina let her hair down and explored the sights and sounds of Brighton. Wiwiblogger Deban Aderemi was fortunate enough to be Valentina’s tour guide. He showed her around the peer, the Pavillion, and the Dome, and Valentina answered questions that our readers supplied on Twitter and via our web site.

She tells us how the sea brings her peace and what it was like to portray a teenager in “The Social Network Song”, and discusses her ongoing Eurovision journey.

“Sometimes when I look in the mirror at my face, I think, ‘How many things you have learned,'” she says. “And I want to learn a lot of things for the rest of my life and I can give a lot of music for the people. I write every day about the sea, about my feelings, about my friends. About Facebook, about Crisalide, about Maybe.”

And we’re so glad you do! You can see the highlights of Deban’s day with Valentina below.

And don’t forget to listen to Valentina’s Eurovision 2014 song.

“And on the first day He made the Azeris. Then there was light, and He made the World, created life and avery other detail.” Loose translation from the Azeri Scriptures.
…wrong assumption. There’s blood in my veins from an older people. Guess again.

Mother of Zeus! How come we readers come into each and every link from this site to find mindless bickering by (supposed) Armenians vs (supposed) Azeris?! We can’t even relax at the end of the day reading about a day in the life of a person like Valentina Monetta, from a teeny country like San Marino, which does not mess with anyone and does nothing wrong.
It’s getting tiring, and boring, you know…
(here’s when the trolls and the drones call me “anti Christian”, “gay” and whatever comes to their soft heads I am 😉 )

Actually I’ve met Valentina, and she seemed to be a nice person. But I want to see something and someone new from San Marino next year.
