Y’all need to have your travel agent on speed dial. ORF’s Eurovision 2015 steering committee met yesterday morning, and we can expect a host city announcement imminently.

Kurier.at reports that ORF’s top officials planned to meet on Tuesday to decide whether Vienna, Innsbruck or Graz deserved the honour of hosting. “Then it could go fast,” the paper writes. “The award of the project and millions of euros could fall on the same day.”

As you’ll recall, ORF has said that its decision will come by early August.

Eurovision fans are debating the cultural and entertainment merits of each city—Mountains in Innsbruck! Music in Vienna!…the Tramway Museum in Graz! But for officials it’s all about the money honey.

ORF Chief Financial Officer Richard Grasl told the paper that he isn’t playing favourites and that this is a hard-nosed financial decision: “I am talking about an objective evaluation of the concepts, and also financially…the best offer for ORF.”

I wouldnt like to see Conchita Wurst host ESC 2015 either, but I think she should have a role in the show, either announcing the Austrian televote from some square in Vienna ( or wherever the host city is) or maybe as a green room host on the saturday night.
Although, they may try and push the boundaries once again and having the first ever drag queen presenter at ESC

I am very questioned to see the reaction of fans if Graz (the biggest outsider) will declared as host. Hahahahahaha

Probably Vienna or Innsbruck – tough decision.

And to be honest I don’t want Conchita to host the show.

Financially Innsbruck has the best offer. According to local newspapers here in Austria Innsbruck is in the lead of hosting. The major of Innsbruck made a 50-page offer to the ORF, in which Innsbruck says to cover up all the expenses from security to electricity. ORF would then only have to pay for the show itself. Also global jewellery and fashion label Swarwoski said, that they support Innsbruck. The only thing, that could stop Innsbruck from hosting, is the major of Vienna. He is from the Social Demcratic Party and he made Alexander Wrabetz chief of the ORF. So I… Read more »
