It was one of the first Eurovision entries revealed this season, and after a long wait, The Netherlands have just released the official music video for Trijntje Ooseterhuis’ song, “Walk Along”. Just like last year, the Dutch have kept things simple. The clip is shot entirely in black and white, and we see Traincha (as she’ll be known in Vienna) flounce around a studio in a variety of different outfits. Between the hats and sunglasses, she looks every inch a glamorous Hollywood star. She’s even managed to snag herself a much younger beau. And he has a fondness for removing his shirt and flexing his heavily inked muscles. You go girl! At one point she even sports a jumper emblazoned with one word – “STAR”. Yes indeed.
Many had been hoping that the track itself would receive some sort of revamp – like Georgia, Belarus and Malta – but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Of course, the song already has many fans as it is, so maybe the Dutch execs decided it best to play safe.
WATCH TRIJNTJE’S “WALK ALONG” HERE
What do y’all think? Have they missed a trick by keeping “Walk Along” unchanged? And what about the video, are y’all impressed?
Hi TrainCHA! Use the clip at your performance and use zipper to open to the new clips walk along use the sexy guy and footsteps to walk along… Looking foreword to a great solid performance in line with our last years stage video performance of THE COMMON LINNETS. This year the top 5 again for THE NETHERLANDS!
GREAT BLACK & WHITE CLIP… follows nicely with the great number 2 of last year THE COMMON LINNETS! this year it will be TRAINCHA and WALK ALONG BABY! luv it xxx
What a letdown. I don’t get this videoclip. Black, white, a woman and a man, a hut – are these elements a sort of reference to “Calm after the storm”? Or maybe Holland didn’t have any other concept of the video? Come on! The song is still nice and ok.
I love “Walk Along” just the way it is; no need for a revamp. This song has always been in my top 5 & looks like it will stay there.
Not crazy about the video. I prefer the one on the TV show with the audience & judges clapping & dancing. It makes the song more exciting than a clip that looks like a clothing advertisement.
Good luck to the Netherlands!

The Netherlands is a rich country, I don’t understand why they released that
poor, simple… boring…
The song is catchy… and It deserved something better
quero ser tua oh oh oh
why ai ai ai ai
it’s quero ser tua version english!
I dont like the video. Its not bad, but way too simple. The song is mega catchy. I can imagine people being tired but dont forget that the viewers will only hear it once and in a sea of ballads this will soooo stand out. Vocally she’s strong. Final? Yes! Absolutely. Top 10? Maybe.
@Gert, erm no. The live performance will be totally different.
Hate the video. For me, I loved the Netherlands straight away last year and at first when no one seemed to like it, I was a bit like “ohhh” but then it came 2nd so now I am happy. This year for me, I am a bit meh with the song. It starts of powerful but then it stays that way throughout. I hope they do well, maybe they’ll even come first however I believe I have now just jinxed it.
So, Netherlands opted for their “Luminita Anghel”…WHY-Y-Y-Y?
Netherlands should be in top 20, but this will be top 10, because rivals are tragic.
This song gets more annoying each time I heard it. The video is ridiculously mismatched to the music, I expected a H&M logo to pop up any second. Blouse 9,99. Jacket 49,99. Hat 19,99.
I really like the Dutch entry of Holland! <3
It looks like after all that Holland will gonna do great in our Vision 4 a concecutive 3rd time in row which is so unreal and unbelievable 4 a 'dead' country like Netherlands until 2013 & Malmo's Butterfly Vision! 🙂
Really great that the Dutch have met their so desired resurrection in Euro Vision! <3 🙂
*Walk Along* currently is my 3rd most liked song from all the selected entries so far ! 🙂
As with Belgium, I can only enjoy the song if I don’t watch the video. I HATE the video but really like the song.
I was hoping they would have re worked the song to make it less repetitive.
But oh well, still good.
“MUCH younger beau”
Saucer of milk for Wiwibloggs. I hope they get him on stage in Vienna as part of a another simple but effective Dutch staging. I’m disappointed that they’re calling her Traincha because I can actually pronounce Trijntje Ooseterhuis.
I love this song, it’s one of my favorites this year! I often find myself belting out the “WHY-Y-Y-Y” parts in my kitchen, it’s such a catchy bit. Overall, it’s a quality entry with a good tempo, so I hope it will do well. Not to mention, Trinjtje slays it live.
This song bores me to death. Seriously. Together with that annoying Danish one.
Talking in hyperboles doesn’t help I think. The song isn’t as strong as in 2013 and 2014. But to call it now a non-qualifier goes a bit too far for me. There are far worse, less accessible entries in semi final 1. To name an example: Finland? Armenia? Serbia? Hungary? Moldova? Perhaps Georgia?
It actually would help the discussion if one comes up with her/his TOP 10 prediction from semi final 1 right now.
Will Netherlands win? Well absolutely not. But I can’t see Netherlands not qualifying. In the final a placing between 9th and 17th is possible.
I think the live performance will be great. There has been a lot of thinking about the staging already and the director from last year returns, so that might give us a good shot. I´m 95% sure we´ll qualify.
Lijana, this isn’t original like Anouk and the Common Linnets. This is repetitive, loud pop music and a sure non-qualifier, the juries will not enjoy this.
I’m still convinced that this song would get almost no attention if the Netherlands hadn’t come 2nd last year. It is a dull, boring, repetitive song that lacks a clear highlight. It might be sticky in the short term, but in some months it can easily be forgotten. Of course, much depends on the presentation but the song itself remains extremely monotonous and therefore isn’t very radio-friendly.
i honestly think this could still win, its one of very few this year i can see with all the confetti coming down and performing again after the voting
it has grown on me, but I’d be surprised if this made the left side of the scoreboard…
My list of qualifiers so far, in TOP 10 ranking order:
01) Belgium
02) Russia
03) Estonia
04) Denmark
05) Netherlands
06) Georgia
07) Greece
08) FYR.Macedonia
09) Romania
10) Hungary, Finland or Belarus
Expect many elements from this videoclip back in the final staging concept for Netherlands. I think stage director Hans Pannecoucke was present during the recording of that clip ;-): –> Lots of close-ups from Trijntje –> Side shots of Trijntje’s face, where you only see the outlines of her face in black –> That hunk of a guy –> Blurry, far-distance shots from that hunk at the start –> Climatic shot where Trijntje and that hunk come together, hunk standing behind her, both looking inside the camera –> Lots of black-and-white lighting –> Final shot of Trijntje & hunk’s hand… Read more »
I can’t hear this song anymore.
she will take the whole school class of her little kids with her too vienna!:)
This song has a summery touch, but the video doesn’t suit the song at all. But you have to give the Netherlands credit for being so original 3 years in a row. Gotta love ’em 🙂
Meh song, meh video… On the plus side, it’s catchy, but somehow it’s overhyped in my opinion. Nothing extraordinary.
Still as catchy as ever, I hope Netherlands gets through the bloodbath that is SF1…
I didn’t expect to see nipples.
