New York acoustic guitar sidewalk realness

Genealogy’s Armenian-American artist Tamar Kaprelian has been hard at work ahead of Eurovision 2015. Along with interacting with her new fans through social media and giving interviews, she has just released a solo acoustic version of this year’s Armenian entry, “Face The Shadow“.

This acoustic version is much softer than the dramatic studio version she sings with her five compatriots. It puts the spotlight firmly on Tamar and lets her show off her vocal talents even more. Lesser artists would crack without electronic backing, but Tamar shines even brighter. This is pure and simple — and simply amazing! The cute video, filmed on a New York City street with her friend Matt Koziol singing backing vocals and accompanying her on guitar, is also a delight.

What do y’all think of this version? Is the song better with softer instrumentation? Does Tamar stand out as a solo artist? Don’t deny: We know you love it!

Hi there my name is Kris. Hi Tamar jan. Im 32 going back to school for my passion (Music) and I love what your doing. I do have a few suggestions if you guys are open to it. Consider Lowering the tempo it feels a bit rushed currently your at 84 ish…try on 72. Consider this arrangement. Intro 2:48 of the video. Drop the word “so” in the first chorus. Armenia would have just moved up 10-15 places if they had sent this. Dropping the bad singers and taking away the overproduction? Yes, please! It is a shame that she will not be performing solo in the contest.

Tamar is very pretty…One of the most beautiful female contestants of the Diamond Vision undeniably..
She seems really nice & sympathetic…
She is not my favorite petal member of Geneaology though…
I just like Mary Jean & Stefanie more..
Dear Vahe with sweety Essai are my all favorite parts of the armenian group.. <3
Inga of course is our known Inga…Pretty cool & charismatic presence..
Thank god that they selected her instead of another unfortunate name…I wanted either her/her twin sister or Eva Rivas 4 the center of the flower.. <3

Tamar should definitely represent Armenia on her own sometime, she’s great, and judging by her outfit, really chic aswell.

I love her voice. It’s so soothing and calming. I would love to see her do a cover of Rihanna’s Diamonds. I think the song would fit her voice so well.
