RAI dealt us a shock when they announced that they had suffered a few televote glitches during the final part of voting in Italy’s Junior Eurovision selection, held during Ti Lascio Una Canzone. All of the Junior Eurovision fandom worried that the original winners — the twin sisters Chiara and Martina Scarpari — may lose their little trophy.

In the name of fairness and transparency, RAI then decided to stage a run-off. As a result of that, the two (or precisely three) finalists reprised their covers the following Saturday.

Chiara and Martina Scarpari delivered an emotional and sassy cover of Ornella Vanoni’s “Una ragione di piu'”. She blended beautifully with the orchestra.

Their little rival — Giovanni Sutera Sardo — served us ’70s realness with his rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “For once in my life”.

After all the votes had been counted, the Scarpari twins won with 62% of total votes, leaving Giovanni as a runner-up. Again.

Their next step is to work with Italy’s famous singer/songwriter Gigi D’Alessio on the song they will compete with in Sofia. #exciting!

If it’s a double win in Italy, could it be Italy’s second time in a row to win the whole thing? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.

San Marino isn’t susceptible to borders and politics because the votes are 100% jury there- hence why Latvia could secure the douze.

An By The Way Youngster Joey, I doubt that San Marino will even confirm their participation. And I even think that they could even give Italy 12 points. In ESC 2015, Il Volo recieved 10 points from San Marino, and 8 from Slovenia. But you never know what can happen in contests like these. For example, lots of people are thinking that Albania an the F.Y.R Macedonia will exchange 12 points as they are very good neighbouring countries. But Look what happened with San Marino and Italy in ESC 2015. San Marino gave 10 points to their closest and only… Read more »

Italy to win 2x a row!
With Malta, San Marino (if they confirm) and Slovenia and Albania most likely giving them points.

Good for them that they managed to win again & with even such big percentage of 62%
We will gonna see if Italy can win again in Junior EuroVision for a 2nd year in row after last year..
( No country has managed to do this achievement so far in JESC )

Gigi D’Alessio= last place (I would add with nul points, but that’s impossible in jesc)
