Fresh from chauffeuring Armenia’s Junior Eurovision hopeful Mika, Aram MP3Â is in the driving seat once again on “You’re My Sunshine” – literally! The video for his latest single sees the Eurovision 2014 star embark on a massive road trip, where he meets a whole host of comical characters. At times he engages in driving practices that even occasional road safety advocate Nigar Jamal would baulk at. But fear not, everything is in jest. The car is pretend and the backdrop is courtesy of a green screen.
It’s all just a load of fun. Like the song itself, which makes a welcome break from the rather sombre, borderline depressing material he’s been churning out of late. The “Not Alone” singer makes the transition with ease.
“You’re My Sunshine” is a toe-tapping number, similar in style to Mark Ronson’s monster hit “Uptown Funk”. And like that track, it’s ridiculously addictive. MP3’s other career as a comic pays off, as he finally has an opportunity to play with his vocals – there are riffs here that he definitely couldn’t have included on “Help”. But even the presence of The Sunside Band can’t hide one teeny tiny problem – Aram’s pronunciation! He had us rightly confused when he insisted on pronouncing motivation as “moth-ivation”. And there’s that one line at 1:33 where we’ve made an educated guess that he’s singing “my world is spinning, listen.”
However, they’re only small quibbles. The song has us in such a good mood that we’ll let him off any extra homework.

Anyone who thinks this guy can’t sing is deaf. He sang not alone without any back up vocals and sure his voice was a little shaky in lower range but never out of tune. As for his other songs, I think he is incredibly talented.
I’m not going to argue about his personal beliefs, but all I will say is that if Eurovision fans forgave Mans for his statement which by the way was just as bad, they should be able to forgive him too after he addressed the issue with Conchita.
