The recently published split results from Junior Eurovision 2015 suggest that the former Soviet Bloc stood by Russian-born Kamilla Ismailova. Singing “Mirror” for San Marino, she managed to secure the microstate its first-ever douze points at a Eurovision event. And Russian viewers ranked her second best! Roots run deep, y’all.

Kamilla Ismailova at the Kinder MUZ Awards

For Kamilla that was only part of a remarkable year. On December 19, she dazzled with two live performances at the annual Kinder MUZ awards at the Kremlin palace. Broadcast by Russia’s MUZ TV, the awards pay homage to acclaimed singers under 18 whose songs charted throughout the year, as well as young breakouts who were only recently discovered.

Among them was Lil’ Miss Kamilla, who received three nominations — for Best Performer of the Year Under 12, Breakthrough of the Year, and Best Video of the Year. Naturally she just had to recreate her performance from Bulgaria.

Before that she accompanied Russia’s Eurovision 1995 entrant Philip Kirkorov in “Akapella Dushi”.

Given the central role she played in the show, there was no way she was walking home empty handed. She received the award for Breakthrough of the Year. Her video for her debut single “Dyshat” was runner-up in the category for Best Video.

Despite being a kids’ show, Phillip was among the nominees and winners. He won the Duet of the Year award for his duet with Milena Meybakova at last year’s show.

Dima Bilan and Ani Lorak graced the stage as well, handing out prizes on stage.
