Let there be peace and let there be Polina Gagarina! On New Year’s Eve Russia’s Eurovision 2015 starlet said goodbye to 2015 and hello to the new year with a spectacular performance of “A Million Voices” for Russia’s First Channel.

Singing in both English and Russian, Polina looked like a high-fashion angel as she performed inside Glavnyi Universalnyi Magazin (GUM), the famous department store on Moscow’s Red Square. She moved elegantly from Lacoste to a walkway on the second floor, all the while framed by a ginormous Christmas tree, oversized snowflakes, hippie dancers and a chorus of swaying children. It’s so sweet we’re getting toothaches here in London!

Sergey Lazarev and Ani Lorak — Parade of Stars

Later in the day VGTRK broadcast its annual “Parade of Stars” program. It included a duet between Russia’s Eurovision 2016 contestant Sergey Lazarev and Ukraine’s Eurovision 2008 singer Ani Lorak. These two were playful and on point as Santa Claus drove them onto stage (apparently he doesn’t use reindeer at concerts). They sang a folksy holiday ditty flanked by a dozen dancers. In true Eurovision style, there’s even a key change!

Sergey posted some images from the pre-recorded show last week.

Which performance are you feeling more? And are you loving Polina’s dress as much as we are?

@oxyk You’re lying through every line! And would you stop blatantly lying in each theme? Pouring dirt on Russia for any reason! I have a feeling that you are here only for the sake of it! And not in order to condemn the music!

@Geo Mick, that could be promising for Ukrainian budget. This is Russian show, Ani Lorak and almost all artists they show in this video (Kobzon, Rabbits, Lolita etc incl Ani Lorak) have highest cultural rank – “People’s artist” and they got a pension or just payments every month from our budget, from our taxes. And what we see for taxes paid from my pocket? they entertain Russian, who is happened to be our grave enemy , while sucking our money? Promising for our investigation services as a proof if the fact that at the time when they have to entertain… Read more »
