This is the night! After yesterday’s epic semifinal which saw 20 songs become 14, Malta is ready to choose its representative for Eurovision 2016. We’re currently on the ground in Valletta, and were on hand to catchup with some of the finalists immediately after last night’s show. Ira Losco, Christabelle, Brooke and more all gave us their initial reactions to the results.
Christabelle – “Kingdom”
Christabelle chatted about her emotions on stage and how everything went “I’m very excited to be in the final now. Nothing went wrong on stage and it was magical! Hope it will be the same for the final”. And yes, she loves my accent!
Corazon – “Falling Glass”
Corzon qualified for the final for the first time since 2013, so she was naturally very excited “There is no time really to improve things, especially because I don’t think there is anything to improve. I’m happy!”
Jessika – “The Flame”
Jessika’s flame burned bright last night. And of course we had to ask her about her stunning dress. Ever modest, she made sure we didn’t forget about her background team. “Me and my team, we know how to work together because we are family, not just a team!”
Brooke – “Golden”
The Golden girl couldn’t believe her luck, but she remains focused “I will go quickly home now, sleep and tomorrow we come for rehearsals and make everything perfect! I can’t wait!”
Daniel Testa – “Under The Sun”
Daniel knows what he is doing as this is his third consecutive qualification for the MESC final. “I am confidently looking forward for tonight with my song”. Speaking of all his qualifications, his 2014 entry “One Last Ride” is his favourite.
Ira Losco – “Chameleon”
Was the Eurovision 2002 veteran set to celebrate her qualification by partying away until the small hours? Of course not! “I will go home and sleep, not party even if I would like to”, says Ira with a giggle. “In the morning we have our rehearsal and we have to be there really early so no party tonight at least!”
