Hello, hello, Mr. iTunes, she’s here to slay!
The race for the Spanish ticket to Stockholm is on, and while we count down the seven remaining days until the national final, the six candidates have started releasing their songs on various music platforms. But only one has risen to the iTunes Top 10 and, after just 24 hours, hit #1! Who is it? Barei with her entry “Say Yay!”
She spread the news among her fans immediately.
Irse a la cama con una sorpresa así NO TIENE PRECIO!
GRACIAS GRACIAS Y MÁS GRACIAS! Sois brutales! 1 millón d bsos pic.twitter.com/1HRzlO8GG3— BAREI (@BAREI_MUSIC) January 25, 2016
SPANISH CONTESTANTS IN THE CHARTS
Being the last act to release her entry didn’t hold her back at all and she’s left her competition in the dust. Xuso Jones is currently at #24 with “Victorious”, Electric Nana is on #64 with “Now”, and Salva Beltrán closes out Spain’s iTunes Top 100, running at #95 with “Días de Alegría“.
Does this mean she’s on her way to win Spain’s National Final “Objetivo Eurovisión” next Monday? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
Lush life 8th
I liked Electric nana’s music before she released ”now” however i got to admit that ”Say yay” would be better at eurovision.
This doesn’t mean that she will win. Brequette also got the best rank in the iTunes charts in the last spanish national final, at the end, Ruth Lorenzo won. I think it gonna happen the same here, Barei is leading iTunes’ chart, but at the end, the chosen one will be Xuso Jones.
Love the interview – and love that she can absolutely 100% sing it live.
My heart is still with Salvador, but Barei is the right choice for Spain.
This is excellent. Before this I wouldn’t have expected Barei to even come close to winning the televote but now this gives me hope. Make the right choice Spain, and don’t muck it up juries!
Barei’s “Say Yay” is #1 on iTunes means that she is not the winner yet. Let the public decide. I think it’s time to turn things around and choose Maria Isabel instead.
It seems a pretty difficult song to do live. I hope she is up to it.
Say yay could be easily the Eurovision winner this year… Is such a powerful track, modern and with amazing lyrics….. Other songs as Victorious or Now are good too, but Say Yay is a masterpiece ( top 5, for sure)… The other candidates are quite weak.
This is a great song with attitude, very catchy and modern, reminds me of Kiesza.
Say Yay is my #3 out of the six right now, but I like it less and less every time I listen to it. I have the feeling it won’t come across very well live. I think María Isabel will win, but I’m rooting for Salva all the way.
@stianf
It reminds me more of Euphoria… it’s even written by the same guy.
OMG what a horrible review video… you seriously like that horrible Xuso Jones song? Victorius is just a dull copy of Måns Zelmerløws song “Cara Mia” from 2007. Its a sure bottom 3 for Spain if they choose it . Its just another Swedish silly song. I would go for any of the others to be honest.
I like Barei and would be happy if she won (provided the performance is up to scratch) but my favourite is María Isabel.
This national final has no bad songs – but tbh no brilliant songs either. This one is my favourite but I fear it will end like Spain’s song from last year that got a lot of hype and then came in the bottom 10.
This is my top 6
1. Barei
2. Salva Betrán
3. Maria Isabel
4. Maverick
5. Xuso Jones
6. Electric Nana
This is how I think the results will be
1. Barei
2. Xuso Jones
3. Salva Betrán
4. Maria Isabel
5. Electric Nana
6. Maverick
I really don’t like this (neither the song nor the fact it’s #1). :/
@Ñu – anything better than Barei, Maria or that Electric women. 🙂 But you root for Barei.
Honestly don’t see the hype over Barei… the song is very dull and doesn’t go anywhere. I feel that if this went to Stockholm it’d need major revamping or it’d face the same fate as Edurne
It’s the best song in Spanish selection. Please Spain choose this hit!
@Khm I mean real hit for me, at least lol.
It has been revealed the names of the national jury. They’ll have Edurne, Carlos Marin (Il Divo) and Loreen. To be honest don’t know why Loreen is one of the judges… . I’m worried about favouring Xuso, having the same composers of Edurne and Loreen. And also Edurne is friend of Xuso (they were on the same season of Your Face Sounds Familiar)..
“Say Yay” is weak, dull and loose song.
It’s a very catchy tune, that’s for certain. Out of the Spanish selection, it’s the one that sticks in the mind the most.
BTW, I don’t know about Spain, but in Holland artists have been known to buy themselves a spot on the Itunes chart. It only costs a few hundred quid…
Vote for her please! My first in my Top 6 and I love this song – from Germany 🙂 Modern, catchy and great voice 🙂 With good staging she will bring Spain back in the Top 10, maybe winner #spain2017 🙂 Spain deserves the victory after all these great songs since 2012 🙂 You will get my support if she will win 🙂
Milim, real hit? C’mon, it didn’t chart in Spain two months ago when she released the song.
Meh don’t really like this song.
However “la vida solo es una” is a real hit ! I really hope that it will be Maria Isabel for Stockholm ^^
Barei is such a truth artist! I hope Loreen give her some advise and tips during Spanish National Final
Still havent got why’s everybody so obsessed with it…
Madrid 2017, say yay !
YES DHE MUST TO WIN AND TAKE TOP 5 IN SWEDEN vamoS BAREI DE HAS GANADO EL APOYO DE MEXICO
yay! 😀
Is it just me or her song does nothing to me?
The best song, no doubt
Hot damn wiwibloggs, you’re bringing so much good news today
Agree. I really hope the people of Spain will choose her, and not some pretty boy just because he’s pretty and has a song in spanish. Please, do the right thing, Spain.
I hope that she’ll be the one who goes to Stockholm. We need to vote her next monday to get the ticket.
