“Slow Down” lyrics – Douwe Bob (Netherlands 2016)

Yee-haw. We’ve been waiting for months for The Netherlands and Douwe Bob to reveal their song for Eurovision 2016. Once again, after the success of the Common Linnets in 2014, they’ve decided to take the country song route. “Slow Down” has all the hallmarks of a country pop song you’d expect to hear on radio stations across the USA.

In the song, Douwe seems to be on the run from something — or someone — and needing to take a break. Thankfully, a saviour tells him a very simple phrase: “slow down”. Simple, yet effective.
