Austria may have suffered the dreaded nil points back in Vienna, but the beautiful ZOË is ready to right that wrong with her song “Loin d’ici” – the first French-language song from Austria in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest. The video for the catchy tune dropped yesterday and colour us in love.
The video is as cute, feminine and dainty as ZOË herself. Wearing a beautiful gown and surrounded by animated landscapes, ZOË serves some Austrian Nicole Kidman/Julianne Moore realness. Her luscious red hair accompanied by powerful wind machines are reminiscent of Ariel submerging from the sea onto the rock in The Little Mermaid.
ZOË – “LOIN D’ICI” OFFICIAL VIDEO
It’s clear that the Austrian broadcaster, ORF, have spared no expense in making their entry a success. After an unfavourable finish on home turf last year, Austria is seeking redemption in their greatest form – a pretty lady with a pretty song.
In a current poll on wiwibloggs.com, we are asking you who your favourite is out of the 41 countries that have presented their entries. Right now Austria is ranked 23 out of 41. ZOË has the support behind her to carry her into the Grand Final in Stockholm this May. The video is expensive. ZOË is beautiful. We love!
What do you make of the Austrian video? Let us know in the comments below!
AUSTRIA HAS A REAL CHANCE IN ZOE !!! 12 POINTS FROM GREECE!!
Austria should qualify to the final and be in the top 3!
Zoe is going to the final, this is such a great sweet song, and she has such a sweet personality
100% definitely going to the final
I really jope that people will not just like the song but will also grab their phones and will vote for her. Unfortunarely Austria cannot rely on any friendly neighbourly votes, so it’s up to you guys to secure her a spot in the finals. She absolutely deserves it. The song is beautiful and she is charming. And the song is not all Swedish produced but was written by her (and her father).
The difference between Austria’s entry in 2015 and 2016 is really big. In 2015, their host entry was decent, but fairly boring. It was a very strong year, with a lot of great entries and mostly well done selection of finalists. That is why Austria’s song was easily forgotten. Wouldn’t have happened with Quel Filou and will not happen with Loin D’ici. Zoe has a really good song. However, problem with semi 1 is having a lot of good songs from countries that are not *ALWAYS* in finals (Austria, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Iceland, Hungary, Cyprus), while being in… Read more »
I think she may have trouble getting out of the semi-final.
There are a lot of songs better than this and if it does get to the final, it will be lucky to do so.
I’m French and I will vote for her. First, she sings with the french language, and I’m very proud to have another song in French. And she’s adorable, very simply girl, and his song reflects, I think, her personnality.
She needs to qualify, no other way possible <3
“Unfavorable finish on home turf” last year? To say the least! It was an absolute disaster for such a good song; and I thought the Makemakes would finish 11th.
Zoë has the potential of becoming a sleeping giant-killer. I do believe it is capable of finishing in the top 10, with the right stage setup for this song.
I really love this song its so gentle in my hearing, calm, simple yet vibrant. Austria deserve a slot in the final.
Zoe is adorable, but damn is she sexy at the same time. No homo.
Austria is going to the final, there i’ve said it
Austria is a 100% definite for the final
Zoe is so cute, the song is cute, a match made in heaven, who doesn’t like a cute young girl 🙂
This needs to qualify, there I said It !!
The videoclip of the song is beautiful and fantastic.I like the song and ZOË has a good voice.
It really is cuteness overload 🙂 Austria should qualify for grand finals.
