He may have experienced Bootcamp on the first series of the Adria version in 2013, but Slavko Kalezic faced an entirely different challenge on this year’s X Factor UK. In the midst of giving an electrifying performance, he twirled his signature braid so hard that it flew off.
But the Montenegrin diva didn’t miss a beat. After impressing the judges with his audition last month, Montenegro’s Eurovision 2017 singer will join Dutch national finalist Berget Lewis at the Six Chair Challenge next Saturday. It’s the third and final part of The X Factor Bootcamp and will determine who makes it to Judges Houses.
Speaking to the cameras backstage, Slavko revealed that he adores Beyoncé and realised that “we are on the same artistic path”. And he feels that competing on The X Factor UK makes him one step closer to his idol.
With Slavko on the stage at Wembley Arena, he was then asked which judge he wanted as mentor and chose Nicole Scherzinger. “Good answer”, Nicole replied, “We could have matching braids.”
For his arena audition performance, Slavko performed Rihanna’s “Where Have You Been” before unleashing a dance break with his braid. And he whipped it so much it flew off, causing Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne to collapse in a fit of giggles.
It was then up to the judges to make their brief deliberations. “He had the whole place on this stage”, said Louis Walsh, “He was so good.”
Unsurprisingly, Simon Cowell was left unimpressed as Nicole continued to defend Slavko, saying it was his best performance so far. “He’s an entertainer, he put everything up there”, before Simon responded “He’s nuts”.
Despite the divided opinions from the judges, Nicole then delivered the good news. Slavko is through to the Six Chair Challenge, where he will battle it out for a place at Judges Houses.
As Bootcamp came to an end, there was the small matter of which categories the judges will get this year. And Slavko gets his wish as Nicole Scherzinger will mentor the Overs. Simon Cowell gets the Groups, the Boys for Louis Walsh, leaving Sharon Osbourne with her least favourite category, the Girls.
Slavko’s an entertainer, and luckily for him he’s got Nicole Scherzinger mentoring his category. She’ll use him as a “fun” act against boringness elsewhere. I just hope Slavko is ready to defend himself in the British tabloids and on Social Media!
he sang terribly…
Poor thing, he’s mentally ill…
Nah, he’s just performing for the cameras. Giving the producers what they want.
Looking at everything he said and done until now… That sounds like a narcissistic mental disorder to me… He thinks he’s great and interesting, while making fool of himself…
Your comment is still valid, but I think there’s more to it.

This show infuriates me with its exploitation of its “auditionees” (actually often people the producers have approached) – humiliation, degradation, disrespect – all for 30 seconds of fame on a TV show where music has never been the point.
Poor Slavko – I hope he knew what he was signing onto. He is better than this. Anybody is. The “six-chair challenge” is exploitation and cruel TV torture at its worst. Sad!
D E L U S I O N
what a waste of space he can’t even sing let alone dance if he calls him self a music artist then there is still hope for my 85 year old auntie
Sorry, but Jedward have decent vocals. Slavko has awful vocals and terrible English pronunciation.
Isabella Clarke has her JESC song out now!
Also, as much as we all love Slavko, he’s no Beyonce.
I still remember Beyonce’s iconic Eurovision performance.
