Eurovision 2019 is starting to feel a lot closer following the recent reveals of several internally selected songs. Songs from The Netherlands and Switzerland have made an impact on betting odds, while others like San Marino and Cyprus have been well received by the fandom. One country yet to release is Armenia. Srbuk was the first Eurovision 2019 artist announced but we’ve had to wait for her song. She has now revealed the song will be called “Walking Out”, as well as tantalising us with a teaser.
“Walking Out” teaser — Srbuk
The teaser gives us a taste of the musicality behind “Walking Out”. There is a heavy percussion element in the teaser, suggesting big beats in an upbeat song. While we don’t get to hear Srbuk singing in the teaser, the percussion sounds give us a taste of the direction she could take “Walking Out”. There’s the possibility of a pop banger or a song with heavy drum backing.
The visuals in the teaser are equally exciting. Srbuk is rocking a fierce pose centre stage, backed by a group of men dressed in black, holding transparent red boards over their faces. This imagery could suggest a theatrical effort and gives us a taste of what we might expect to see on stage from Srbuk. This Armenian queen looks in place with her warrior pose and is ready to slay in Tel Aviv.
Srbuk has been using some interesting hashtags in her posts on social media. The tag #DoNotKillLove could be a lyric from the song while she’s embraced the tag #Goddess — she’s not just “Half a Goddess” anymore. The hype is very real — Srbuk’s Instagram post of the teaser has amassed 160,000 views within 4 hours.
“Walking Out” will be released on Sunday March 10 at 21:45 local time or 18:45 CET.
What do you think of the teaser of “Walking Out”? Are you excited to hear Armenia’s Eurovision entry on Sunday? Let us know in the comments below.
armenia always serving with the visuals come THROUGH
Some of the lyrics from the song:
You knew my heart wasn’t small
But somehow you came and filled it all
You’re no more a king
cuz I was your crown
At last I feel proud
I’M WALKING OUT.
YASSS!! This is going to slay!
I hope it’ll be very strong and powerful song
Any Saga fans here? I mean I’m thinking on Srbuk giving me The Brand vibes with that look, but it’s not a mainstream comic.
I told you all semi 2 is the hardest one. Lots of very ambitions performers: Lazarev, Srbuk, Luca Hänni, Chingiz, Dutch Duncan.
Austria might not make it this time.
It’s also a “ballad semi” (Romania, Albania, Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, North Macedonia, Denmark, Ireland, Croatia, and potentially Russia). Semi 1 is the weirdo one.
Austria is cancelled
Ireland’s is not a ballad.
now this is a song i’m really hyped for. srbuk is excellent on stage n it’s obvious she’ll have a bop, i’m ready to finally have someone to vote for in sf2
It’s giving me Artsvik vibes and we know where she finished.
i have similar vibes
she finished in the final?
Malta’s song is coming on Sunday too
I guess it does not deserve an article as much as Armenia’s song!
My wig! Have you seen my wig?
It’s still on your head. Trust me.
Still confident that this could blow the other entries out of the water!
She could be walking out… with the trophy!
Or walking out empty handed
If the song is as good as Half a Goddess I’ll be happy! She’s had the longest to prepare so there’s absolutely no excuse for a disappointment!
Actually from the beginning Srbuk’s song was the one i was looking forward the most… And it still is.
I can’t wait. Blow me away Armenia!
As if we haven’t enough english pop fast-food music this year.
I think she’ll sing in both english and armenian
Countries that release these teasers always disappoint.. Serbia 2017, Armenia 2017, Croatia last year and Azerbaijan this year…the teasers were so much better than the songs.
The azeri song is actually very good.
It is a Total disaster
it sounds like the typical boris milanov production stuck in 2016
Well when countries don’t do teasers, people complain that they deserve a “taste”, when they do, people complain that they are “overhyped”. Can’t please everyone apparently. Oh and they can’t just drop the music video…they’re probably still editing the Armenian song as we speak.
Enough with the teasers. You’re setting yourself for a higher chance of disappointment if you do that since teasers create hype.
Ikr! Azerbaijan delivered but Croatia 2018 dropped a great teaser and the song was SUCH a letdown. I like teasers but I hate it when they dissapoint.
