Five nights of Italian music on the famed Teatro Ariston stage all lead to this. Tonight, the winner of Italy’s Festival di Sanremo 2020 will be crowned. Ahead of this evening’s final, the bookies have Francesco Gabbani a top of the odds and as their favourite to win.

The Eurovision 2017 participant could be heading for a historic third victory at Sanremo. He won the newcomers section of Sanremo 2016, and then claimed the Golden Lion statue of the Big Artists competition in 2017 for his song “Occidentali’s Karma”.

Sanremo Festival 2020 Odds: Francesco Gabbani favourite to win

This year, Francesco Gabbani has entered Sanremo with “Viceversa”. He was in first place following the demoscopic jury and orchestra voting following the first three nights, and then came second with the press jury last night.

This consistency has meant confidence has grown in Gabbani’s chances of winning, and now multiple betting outlets – Unibet, Bet 365, BWIN and 888 Sport – have placed him as their clear favourite to win. Unibet have the Italian star at odds as low as 2.25.

Sitting second in the odds is Diodato. He has consistently held onto the second spot with the bookies over the past few days for his song “Fai rumore”. Diodato currently has odds of 5.00, which is a relatively big gap from front-runner Francesco Gabbani.

Former bookies’ favourite Elodie has now slipped down to third. The “Andromeda” singer hasn’t performed as well with the juries so far as fans were hoping, thus her odds are now at 5.00 with Unibet.

Nevertheless, at third place, the bookies’ still have some confidence that Elodie could do well tonight. With the video of her first performance currently sitting at 1.4 million views, perhaps the public vote will help Elodie to rise back up the scoreboard. Though, Franceso Gabbani’s performance video has also done well, picking up 1.9 million views.

Rounding out the top five with the bookies are Pinguini Tattici Nucleari and Tosca, both with odds of 7.50 at Unibet. Should the voting go well tonight, perhaps either of these acts are also in with a shot of taking home the trophy.

This year Sanremo ends even later than usual, and it’s been under debate for the whole week here in Italy, so you’ll be fine.

Only two suitable choices for Eurovision, both Top 5-candidates in Rotterdam : ELODIE or DIODATO.

But I´m afraid Pinguini wins…:/

Head on over to RAI Play as soon as Melodifestivalen is over and you’ll still catch most of it. They’re very different.

the top 3 will probably be francesco, diodato and pinguini… and out of these three diodato would be the best, he pleases all three voting subjects (and he’d do very well at eurovision too). still rooting for elodie, though!

Why do only the women get flowers? Poor Rancore gets shot, still no flowers.

It’s a traditional aspect of many festivals. Still, I noticed that sometimes every performer gets a rose in our local theater. I guess it feels more equal. Or at least they could get some other ornament as an equivalent. 😉

Hahaha. I once performed with a singer who rejected her flowers on the stage after the performance. She took all the alcohol given to me and walked off the stage, after giving her flowers to me. I never found out exactly why other than “bad week”. 😀

I was just looking up something. Why does Rai delete the performances after the festival off YouTube? 🙁

Chessguy99

They always delete stuff that is recorded on location, not in their studios. It may be a matter of them having limited replay rights on stuff not done on their property.

Diodato has the best song, and I think it’d do well at Eurovision. Elodie and Pinguini Tattici Nucleari would be excellent Eurovision picks too!

Do we have a list of the artists that want to go Eurovision? Cause the winner might not necessarily be the Italian representative

I just hope that no matter what happens, Elodie can go to Eurovision.

But it would be a nice change if a woman gets to represent Italy after several years of men. Same would go for Hungary if they were still in the running. And the reverse goes to Malta. Sure, if Destiny is indeed the best, send her, but not since 2014 (2013 as a solo act) has a guy represented Malta. In concept, gender doesn’t matter, but in practice it feels unusual if a certain country sends only one gender of representatives.

i can see francesco refusing to go to eurovision, 2017 was very stressful for him and he was put a lot of expectations upon, that ended up being deluded.
