Lithuania The Roop First Rehearsal Eurovision 2021

Lithuania’s The Roop have taken to the stage inside Ahoy Rotterdam for their first rehearsal of Eurovision 2021. They’re wearing their signature yellow looks. But will they shine bright at Eurovision 2021? Let’s see….

Lithuania’s The Roop “Discoteque” — Eurovision 2021 first rehearsal

William: This is how you amp it up. The Roop have taken the key elements from their stage show in Lithuania and pumped it up with steroids. The yellow outfits remain, but now they’re set against a more glorious backdrop dominated by shades of purple. At times we see a subtle clock image and at times it becomes a race car flag — it’s black and white checkerboard like the floor in their music video. The choreography seems tighter and more slick, even while retaining the quirkiness that makes it so special. At times they seem like they’ve been electrocuted with jarring, frenetic movements (potentially triggered by the LED lightning bolt on the screen). This ends with a solid party vibe. The camera looks up from the floor and Vaidotas extends his hand, so it’s like he’s taking a group selfie. In short, this is a perfect opener for Eurovision — it’s feel-good, eye-catching and memorable. Our boys are going through!

Oliver: This is brilliant. The stage this year is massive, but The Roop fill every inch with pure joy. There are many elements lifted directly from Pabandom iš Naujo! where we saw “Discoteque” for the first time. And that’s okay. If something isn’t broken, why try to fix it? Of course, there were a couple of teething issues — at one point, Vaidotas yelled “where’s my spot?” as he tried to find his positioning during the chorus. But if he hadn’t said it, you wouldn’t know anything was wrong. The whole group executed their choreography perfectly, and make full use of their three minute audience to captivate the audience. It’s hard to imagine a timeline in which Lithuania doesn’t qualify for the grand final.

The song doesn’t fit those clown dances so those look even more forced than last year.
If you mute this it looks like one of those really cheap tv shows for toddlers. It is really bad

It fits miraculously well Dear…and btw, stop changing your identity to continuously reveal your fear of seeing this beautiful entry winning haha….so funny…

I’m not changing my identity, your paranoia might need a treatment from a proffecional. And what I described about this entry is 100% accurate. I’m sorry for Lythuania that this is the best they could offer to the contest after all those years. It’s not my fault, so no need to hate me for that.

Yes, why change something so brilliant. Average viewers of the grand final are going to see the staging for the first time during the final. I think top5 is highly likely. I will be happy if a country that has never won the contest wins. While Malta, Cyprus, Iceland and Lithuania have good chances for winning, I am rooting for Lithuania and Iceland. Kisses from Russia.

Capt. Kirk song, silly moves as should be and professionalism. Stable staging, safe enough, exactly the same with what we’ve seen till yesterday.
Certainly qualifier (but this safe choice of staging don’t apply to a possible winner).

I found them edgy, unique and relevant…I respect your opinion, but I feel purely rivalry vibes in your comments…so which entry are you fond of Kas? and why?Just interesting to know your music taste level…

This lyrics of this song and his laughable dance moves makes me cringe. Juries are gonna put this is last place.

The international professional juries like singers who know how to sing or know how to dance his voice sounds annoying and his dance moves are bad.

Roodi, the more negative things you write about the Roop, the better it is for Lithuania…Thank you, continue haha…it simply proves he is a threat…

There are SOME changes. The visuals are new (well, remade), there’s camera shake added, new dance move added. We’ll only see those in the full performance though, so too early to judge. Too early for any country tbh.

Basically it’s their national final performance with the choreo being tighter and more strict and the backround being purple…I think this is the best choice to open the show and The Roop will do an amazing job. Top10 guaranteed

This is so exciting! This is the first year I’ve been hardcore following Eurovision (well I tried in 2020 but you know), ever since the first song came out, and I can’t believe there are only 10 days left!

As for the Roop, I can’t imagine them finishing outside of top 10.

It looks great, it seems they kept what they needed to keep and amped the graphics. Any word if the split screens from their first performance in PiN are back?

No one mentioned the split screens, so I think they’ve ditched them.

No I’ve heard they do have split screens with each member in a different one. That’s what I heard from people reacting to the rehearsals

I guess, we can also appreciate and enjoy your favorite entry…you do not need to trash the ones that are really big competitors, such as the Roop. Accept such comments as a compliment, Vaidotas, I am pretty sure you will be top 5 this year…Greetings from Malta!

I can already see the upcoming comments saying that they ruined it and that they shouldn’t have used the same performance as in their NF but can we just appreciate that this is the first ESC rehearsal after 2 YEARS!?
