Four years after the little missed 1in360, San Marino is back with an all new convoluted national selection format for Eurovision 2022 — Una voce per San Marino. Taking inspiration from neighbouring Italy’s Sanremo, the festival will run throughout the week, culminating in a grand final on Saturday 19 February.

Here’s when and how you can watch Una voce per San Marino online.

Considering these are all songs meant for ESC, I wonder will anyone make their top 76 at some point? This feels ambitious even for me. I’ll likely concentrate on ranking Dora and maybe even Ema. However, hearing a full recap list of San Marino would be very much appreciated, if someone would have stamina for it. 🙂

It’s too long and messy in my opinion. It’s difficult to imitate Sanremo. I hope Achille Lauro wins ??

I wasn’t awake for it so am hoping they put the performances up on YT or the broadcaster website or something.

Elis Mraz going to the second chance round instead of dtf is absolutely criminal lol

Faggi siblings, Aaron Sibley, and Camille Cabaltera qualified DTF, Elis Mraz went to second chance round.

Have Aaron and Alessia qualified or is this another round? I am so confused…

I missed the start, and didn’t realise they had been on before. I think I’ve figured it out – they sing two songs, one new and one old.

That is quite possible. Still, I noticed that not everyone is performing in the second round (at least not in the exact order). Every second / third person is called to perform. In the same order, but with gaps in between.

I think I get it – The best 8 perform again with covers and then the juries decide which 3 qualify DTF, and which 5 go to SC semi. I think so…

Thanks, that makes sense. I still don’t know what the jury make their decisions on, or if those men in the audience were the jurors – but it doesn’t matter.

I still have no idea whether the songs we are hearing now are original or they are just already published songs that are not familiar to me. If they aren’t covers, many of them are surprisingly solid for such a big number.

It’s weird that they’re not telling us anything about the songs or songwriters.

The informations given so far are vague. Elis just performed Imma Be, but I have no idea would she perform it again in the final if she qualifies…

Okay, the UK singer is singing a Paolo Nutini song, so it can only be about the voice.

The second set of songs are certainly covers, but I’m not sure about the first round they did.

Elis is performing her entry that she had in the czech selection so I guess the artists can sing their own songs.

Wait, they’re doing this whole thing just to pick an artist? Can the song they’ll perform during the week be the final song anyway? Or, for example, Elis Mraz would have to drop “Imma Be” and find a new one?

It would be horrible if Ralph Siegel swoops in and forces the winner, Achille Lauro, to sing one of his songs.

We heard Valentina knocking it out of the park with Crisalide one year later. I think that SNS is beyond helping. But sure, for curiosity sake, I’d like to hear Achille’s version.

I kinda wish Ralph another ESC success. There are so many songs outside ESC that he composed which I love. I don’t know why he sends garbage like chain of lights or spirit of the night nowadays. Obvious NQs. He did so much good stuff, for his own sake he should get serious again

I’m know imagine Achille Lauro and Elis Mraz covering “Spirit of the Night” together.

iirc Siegel even wrote the whole soundtrack of a movie that was acclaimed, but I can’t recall the name. I wonder why he isn’t as serious with the entries he sends to Eurovision

Wow, this is the most convoluted national selection in history of ESC. I read it carefully twice and still don’t think I fully get it 🙂 like.. uhmm.. why? these 60 songs will probably be on the level of the Moldova auditions. that could actually be funny though o_O

I’m happy that San Marino came up with this brilliant idea! I love that it allows artists from all over the world to take part and have a chance to grow as artists and gain new followers. I’ll be looking forward to seeing who wins 🙂
ps: Regarding the format, I feel like it’s quite long but I kind of liked it from the get go. Anyways, there’s room for improvement and I’m sure they’ll fine-tune it in the future.

Jonathan Kashanian? How come they couldn’t find a San Marinese host?

Anyway i think they are doing way too many shows for this. They should have kept it short and sweet but i cant hide my excitement for the first time a national final takes place in San Marino.

Also, i don’t like the fact that this is a competition for artists and not songs? Then why are we going to see established acts in the final? I am very confused.

San Marino has quite a small population and maybe they don’t have a suitable presenter for the event.
Regarding the format, it’s too long but they can fine-tune it in the next editions

They do have people working in SMRTV, even Senhit is not a presenter.

Yes, i hope they optimise it in the next editions and i hope they keep this format if it works.

I wish they had less international singers though. It seems that more Italian singers want to take part in ESC now so i would rather see SMRTV focus on local talent first.

Omg Burak Yeter is also participating(the DJ which has a big hit named Tuesday)! Hyped up! Last year, Senhit was robbed I could not understand why she became bottom 5, this was Top 10 Material. However, hopefully San Marino will once again come up witg quality.

The entire contest of Una voce per San Marino is an artist selection, the song will come later.
