Now that Belgium has revealed MUSTII as its Eurovision 2024 act, the Eurovision 2023 season is well and truly behind us. As we look forward to Albania’s Festivali i Këngës and other national finals on the horizon, it’s inevitable that a lot of tracks from ESC 2023 are going drop off our playlists.

But every year a few tracks manage to stand the test of time to become evergreens played at home and in bars and probably the annual Eurovision cruise in the Baltic.

We wanted to forecast which tracks from the Class of 2023 will stand the test of time. So on July 6 we asked our readers to consult their iPhones and music systems and to let us know which Eurovision 2023 tracks they are still listening to.

After receiving 25,574 votes, the results are in…and our readers are still bopping to Käärija’s Eurovision runner-up “Cha Cha Cha”.

The song reached number 1 on Spotify’s Viral 50 chart and number 7 on the streaming site’s Top 50 chart. It’s the most listened to Finnish-language song of all time on Spotify and also cracked number six on the U.K. Singles Chart. It’s the first Finnish-language song ever to make the Top 10 there.

The track received plenty of plaudits from the Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of music unprofessionals — ahead of the contest.

Dayana, our blogger in Finland, gave it a perfect 10, writing: “It’s crazy, it’s catchy, and it sends an important message – we don’t need alcohol to have fun. And Käärijä manages to serve all of these effortlessly, along with his unmatched style. What else could you wish for? The staging is already perfectly suited for Liverpool, but I’m hoping to see some surprises from the Finnish team.”

Germany’s Lord of the Lost, Sweden’s Loreen, Norway’s Alessandra and Austria’s Teya & Salena round out our readers’ Top 5.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have Azerbaijan’s TuralTuranX, Ireland’s Wild Youth, San Marino’s Piqued Jacks, Greece’s Victor and Romania’s Theodor Andrei. None of these songs earned more than 149 votes, or less than .58% of the total.

I could see why people voted for Finland on the night of ESC but I can never understand why would anyone voluntarily listen to that trash pop anytime else.

I love how Lord of the Lost is still appreciated! Also, was the 0% comment a joke that went over my head?

“it sends an important message – we don’t need alcohol to have fun.”
The song is literally about pina coladas…

Due vite.

Completely misunderstood as a conventional love song back in May, it was under-appreciated. It’s not a love song at all. The two lives are both belong to the same person. Inner Marco, and Outer Marco. Private and public. Onstage/offstage. Confident/insecure.

Struggles I’m sure a lot of us can relate to.

I almost only listen to Dance (Our Own Party) from Malta. A few times Evident from France. Never the Hoo-Hoo-Hoo -Too-Too-Too-song. I cam’t avoid it on the radio though, nor Queen Of Kings, but I don’t mind that one. I never listen to the angry Finnish rap-techno-Schnappi-song either.

Sorry about the autocorrection if the French title. It’s Evidemment evidently.

why haven’t you guys posted about the Copenhagen Pride event? where Denmark’s Reiley performed most of his songs, including his entry Breaking My Heart

i mean there are like a huge load of articles for Theodor but nothing on Reiley, i thought he performed very well there, most of his vocals superbly on point too, i just think he just wasn’t something for eurovision, with his vocoder gimmick, but he has talent for sure

Because Theodor got played. At least Denmark had a proper working NF.

umm no

if only Theodor himself knew better how to properly stage his own act, he had all freedoms himself to stage it, because TVR didn’t want to do that, and he came up with that non-existent empty stage lol

if only the public just voted for Perinita Mea, then they would’ve at least qualified, or had better chances to qualify, way better chances

I often listen to Cha Cha Cha but quite surprisingly, the one that I streamed the most is Bridges. I mean I love this song and I always said it was going to do great but I didn’t think it was the song I would listen the most to. I also listen a lot to Tattoo, Queen of Kings, Who the Hell is Edgar, Unicorn and Because of You (I’m Belgian). I sometimes like to go back and see the performance of Blanca Paloma who deserved waaay much more points and respect from public… On the other hand, I put… Read more »

Blanka deserved a higher placement in this but in Lord of the Lost their defence, they were robbed with that last place result i thought, also an incredibly charismatic lead singer, he was mainly positive about Blanka in his semi 2 reaction video and even though it wasn’t his cup of tea they still covered Solo quite well

i liked that outfit, very much the spirit of eurovision for me, very cheesy

same with Blanka, also quite a cheesy choice of outfit, in terms of orange perfect representation colour of Fire, worked well with the colourful dynamic and funny backdrop, Bejba served us dinosaurs in her backdrop, the power of daddy’s cash did that, am a huge jurassic park geek myself so that were extra points for her from me

I’ve never heard that song after the Eurovision. I’ve also never heard or seen anyone listen to it. (thankfully)
Bunch of other songs from this year’s contest can still be heard on radios or in stores around Europe, though.
