This week will see the first national final of 2024 get underway this Saturday with the first semi-final of Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix from NRK studios in Oslo.
There are 18 acts hoping to represent Norway at Eurovision in neighbouring Sweden, and each semi-final will have six acts battling it out for three qualifying spots into the grand final in Trondheim Spektrum on 3 February.

I like the tune of Ingrid Jasmin “Eya” and a recollection came up in my mind flashing, it sounds Greek or Cypriot and there it is Michalis Violaris – Ta Rialia.
EYA and Oblivion! And I also like Stranded & Woman Show. We Come Alive reminds me a bit of Blood & Glitter tbh
I hope when the show gets to the qualifying stage that they do the thing he did last year where they tell all the performers whether they are a finalist or not. I thought it was really cruel to have the host tell artists that they didn’t qualify. Just stick with revealing who qualified
Can’t believe that I for once agrees with the majority! Margrethe, Gothminister and Ingrid for me.
Ingrid is my favourite in this heat.
Gothminister, Margaret Berger and then Ingrid Jasmin in my opinion. The first two are show ready and I like the idea of Eya but it kinda gets lost along the way.
Not the strongest heat but my 3 picks would be We come alive, Stranded and Oblivion, Eya was one of my favourites but some other songs have grown on me and Eya quite the opposite unfortunately.
The best songs are Woman Show and the rock song from Gothminster. Ingrid also has a decent song and Berger will get through name alone.
50/50 chance takes away a lot of the excitement.
I would love to say Gothminster but it’s just too…meh? Like it has SO much potential, but it’s too repetitive and doesn’t go anywhere. I was so excited by it the first verse and chorus but then, meh.
