The first heat of Melodifestivalen 2024 kicks off Saturday evening, and tonight we had the first dress rehearsal of the show in the Eurovision arena in Malmö.
We asked you readers who of the six acts you wanted to go through to the grand final in Stockholm and the results are in.
The rock quartet Smash Into Pieces and their entry “Heroes Are Calling” won our poll with 478 votes amounting to 32.76%. The second qualification spot in our poll went to Adam Woods with “Supernatural”, who got 281 votes or 19.26% of the total votes.
Filtered into the votes from Sweden alone, it’s an even clearer victory for the returning band. They got almost 39% of the Swedish votes, so it’s fair to say that they are the favourites to go through Saturday evening.

OMG! They can “Smash!” me any day.. the most left one.. he’s like… DAMN! And yeah.. I love the song..
I think Samir and Viktor will qualify. They have a lot of energy and people buy their story. Also, the song is catchy and is in Swedish.
songs in swedish never win melfest so
No, but they qualify
I liked what little I saw of the preview for Elisa’s song. Reminds me a bit of Jenny Silver’s “Something in Your Eyes”. I generally agree with the results of the poll, though I think S&V are relatively popular in Sweden, so I suspect they might very well go through. Also, do they release the results from the live viewers in the arena today? Or does that only happen tomorrow?
Oop, found them. Indeed, S&V are naturally popular, though granted there are usually a lot of young people in the audience during the preview shows.
