The dust has settled on a weekend of Eurovision selections. And that means we can now more clearly see and hear the winners from Malta, Norway, Spain and Ukraine.
The new arrivals — Sarah Bonnici, Gåte, Nebulossa and Jerry Heil & alyona alyona — take us to 10 songs in total. So we just have to ask: What’s your favourite Eurovision 2024 song so far?
Last week — when we had just six acts — Ireland’s Bambie Thug debuted in our poll at #1. Can they stay on top? It’s up to you to decide. You can vote for as many countries as you’d like, but you can only vote ONE time. So make it count. Be sure to click the box next to each country you want to support before pressing submit.
What’s your favourite Eurovision 2024 song so far? (Feb 4)
From Austria:
1) Ireland, very special
2)Ukraine
3) France
4) Slovenia’s Raiven
5) Spain (catchy, but thin voice)
6)Czechia (Studio, I hope, singing live will improve, NF Performance was bad!)
7) Luxemburg (classic ESC)
8) Norway
9) Albania
10) copy-and-paste-thin-voiced Malta
So far, it’s all mystery and witchery in my top 3:
Solid start to the selection, Ukraine and France are the standouts for me so far. Not getting the Norway hype.
Norway without any doubt!
Well if history has taught is anything, there will be a big gay baiting song coming in which the wiwibloggers will wet themselves about (likely from the UK this year). They will wildly overhype it (like they did with Je Me Casse). They will be z clicking and “you go girlfriend” like crazy. Then reality will kick in. Sweden will score strongly with the juries whatever they put in. A fun song will win the televote but will be so far behind from the juries that it only comes fifth. Plus this year, the whole contest will be overshadowed by… Read more »
I’m starting to love Ulveham, Mon amour is my next choice. I wouldn’t mind seeing Norway winning the whole competition with a song in Norwegian since it has everything!
Mon Amour is the best song France has sent in years. For once they aren’t trying to cling to a dying fad or feeding into stereotypes.
So, obviously, it has no chance of winning.
Slovenia 10,5/12
Norway 9/12
France 8,5/12
Ireland 7,5/12
Luxembourg 6,5/12
Ukraine 6/12
Spain 5/12
Czechia 4/12
Malta 3,5/12
Albania 2/12
Spanish gays voting like crazy their representative but if you ask them “how do you expect the Europeans to get the message if there is 0 effort with staging and the lyrics are in Spanish” they have no reply. Well, at least the euro club found a new tune that certain people will go crazy for
How about WE make the effort?
How about no?
Your loss.
I think the staging and Spanish lyrics make it abundantly clear that she is one fabulous b*tch x
So far, my mind says Ukraine and my heart says Fox Fox Fox
My top 3
1 Norway
2 Ukraine
3 Slovenia
My favourite song is by Ukraine, super catchy song. Followed by Slovenia, do love me sone pop/ethnic witchy vibes. Norway is alright, a bit too screamy for my likeness but I reckon it will do good in the show. Czechia, despite the bad vocals in the live performance I feel like it’s a nice song. Luxembourg is also nice, not a bad entry for their first year back at the show. Ireland has an interesting proposition and I feel the staging id what will make it or break it. Malta is fine I feel like she will definitely give us… Read more »
Bambie Thug’s performance live on a real stage will mesmerise fans and people will want to vote the entry above other entries. There will be those who don’t like it and that is fine as you can’t downvote and if anything that will just encourage fans of Bambie to vote more. Bambie already has proved somewhat polarising in Ireland but they have managed to win more and more fans with their infectious positivity and charisma.
It’s crap. And the vibe they are going for was done 100 times better by Finland last year. In an ordinary year I would doubt it reaching the final but as their are fewer entries this year and the standard has taken a nosedive, it’ll scrape in
My favorites so far are Norway and Ireland, followed closely by Luxembourg and Slovenia.
I can see at least Norway sticking around in my top 5 for the rest of the season.
Some people seem to think the Spanish song is catchy. Why? What’s your definiton for catchy?
I wouldn’t mind Spain winning. But with this song… Not gonna happen!
Some people = the audience in Benidorm
Imagine Ireland re crowning themselves with the number of wins in the very country that tried to level up with them last year!
That would just be so sweet.
As much as I like the song though I just don’t think it’s going to happen. We haven’t heard all the songs yet, and Ukraine and Iceland are running away with it in the odds.
I won’t g wet too excited just yet.
But my god, reclaiming the record on the soil of the country that equaled it would just be so beautiful
After sharing it for just one year!
Imagine if Johnny Logan was the performer of Doomsday Blue, Ireland would be reclaiming the multiple wins record too.*
*I’m sorry I put that image in your head
(Remember in 2013, when Petra made the mean-spirited joke about Linda Martin? “I know a drag queen when I see one” Well an Irish win would be Linda’s revenge…karma)
Could be worse Jonas, Linda Martin could release a “dance version” of Doomsday Blue, she did ace Get Lucky by Daft Punk after all*
*I’m good at putting images in your head too
I remember seeing her sing “Get Lucky” live on the Late Late and thinking I was I was having a nightmare.
Best song: Ukraine
Best live performance: Norway
Best singer: France
Guilty pleasure: Spain
“we were born as a human beings”
Currently, the only song that I have on my Eurovision playlist (from the selected songs) is ‘Ulveham’. For me head and shoulders above anything else so far.
Raiven is my number 2.
Not really bothered about the others as i feel we lost a lot of the better songs in their respective national semi final/finals.
The only song I have gone to the trouble of downloading is France. Which is funny because, going over my playlist (from 2014 on), there is only one other song from France. Every other country has multiples – even perennial low scorers like Montenegro & Georgia!
Norway Ulveham is so mystical and powerful on that stage.
So far ukraine has the best song .
Tommorow Eden Golan will be selected to represent Israel if nothing unexoected happens.
Eden is going for the win in sweden, its a 1 of a billion singer, huge talent…devan is going to die for her…
yes but we all know israel will not win, because of what is happening right now 🙁
If they even stay in. Anything can change.
If eden will not win or at least finish top 3 it will be obvious why, but i have no doubt everyone will know she deserved to win…as i said you dont get such talent every year at eurovision, she is a top singer, at the level of tge biggest divas….Israel will win i believe despite everything, Eden is the next thing world wide!
bro you have not even heard the song yet. how can you say she is winning? even with a good song she will not win because she is from israel.
and BTW nkthing hapoens that has to prevent israel from winning, israel is responfing to an attack on its civilians and there it ends, if any, people should vote in favour of israel, unless they are braine washed or just lije jihadists
Literally all songs are bad except for Slovenia. Just when you think Eurovision cannot be any worse, they surprise you. It’s quite sad. 🙁
It’s like counties are purposefully choosing bad songs so they don’t win, just look at Spain, Ukraine, Norway…
Slovenia’s song is the definition of cringe.
Why is Spain number 4? That song is so boring and I can see it get zero points in the final
It’s not even worthy of being played at a Bershka store
I was excited because people seems to love it and when I heard it I was like: “spain zero points”
It does get a little repetitive, but… The message is great, the 80s beat is catchy, the performance is giving cabaret… It’s not bad at all!
Ah yes, the message… It’s the most basic message with awful singing and an awful song.
Spain really doesn’t want to win. It’s giving The Fire Saga vibes – sending the worst of the bunch.
I LOVE the spanish song.I do not care at all your hate about It.For me It is catchy and funny an a wonderful message. They Will not win but at least Will make Happy many people. If the same song is sent bu Sweden or Italy or Norway..ohhh masterpiece. You Talk from superiority..It is very disgusting
…or Ukraine…
It’s not even catchy. Sorry, but I really think it’s boring
The young male dancers don’t suit the theme of the song
Last place guaranteed
yes they will 100% be bottom 5
( the spain has a large population of eurofans ?)
This will be WILD speculation, since we don’t even have most of the songs out yet, but… The more I listen to it and watch the performance, the more I feel like Norway could win this year. This won’t be completely shunned by the juries, it will likely do really well in the televote and assuming we don’t have someone like Loreen this year, who’ll just gobble up all the 12 jury points and do really well in the televote at the same time… Norway could rise to the top. It’s epic, it’s unique, it’s ethnic, it’s vocally strong, the… Read more »
I think Norway will be top3 televote and top10 jury. I don’t know if it will be enough to win but it’s definitely be high in the scoreboard!
I for some reason have a feeling in my gut it won’t do well and will be overhyped.
It’s already overhyped.
Honestly already a really strong lineup! I prefer Norway and Slovenia, followed by France, Ireland and Spain.
Ukraine seems to be shortening in the odds all the time. I think they’ve got a strong entry and look well placed at the moment to take the Eurovision crown.
I hope not. Gets tiring Ukraine Sweden all the time. Bias towards those countries
If their entrances are great, why not?
The thing is that they’re not great nor groundbreaking most of the time
And I’m speaking about both Sweden and Ukraine
At this point, I have only Norway and Luxembourg on my playlist. I don’t particularly like any of the other songs. Perhaps Malta? I will give it another chance.
Go Gåte & Tali!
Luxembourg came strong in their return. Tali wasn’t in my top 3 of the National Finals, but it isn’t awful. At this point, I think it will make the left side of the board. Of course, that is subject to change if the songs that have not yet been revealed turn out to be good. If they are more or less the level of what we have so far – Luxembourg could be in the Top 10.
France, Norway and Ireland
the Legendary Bambie Thug of course
but also superstar A-Listers Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil
and Gate
What wonderful news reading Ireland’s song is popular this year! We saw the live show and really hoped ireland would opt out of the usual eurotrak sound…and hey! its such a good song…great tones and love the mood change! Zorra is such an iconic eurovision hit…and thrilled so far that the wiwibloggs fans are welcoming these as good tracks this year. I am never biased regarding the tunes of eurovision and so look forward to the next few reveals. Thank you for asking us for our view wiwibloggs..and just incase you dont recognise me…i helped you out when we landed… Read more »
Very poor year so far, I don’t like any of the songs selected. Czechia is proberly the best of a bad bunch. Jerry heill deserves her place at Eurovision though as she is a amazing singer but would of preferred something more upbeat like vegan ?
Not sure what possessed Norway to pick the song they have over keiino, it’s very antiquated and will die on stage.
Hopefully the remaining countries left to pick their songs will send something better, but at the moment if croatia pick baby lasagna then it’s gonna steamroll everything else that’s around at the moment.
So true!
Ukraine, Spain, Norway make the top 3 for me so far.
For me it’s France, Luxembourg, Ukraine and Norway (not in order)
France. No competition. (I’m not French).
Ireland is still leading the poll. And rightfully so.
I’m so glad that my favourites won 3 of the finals this weekend: Gåte, Nebulossa and alyona alyona & Jerry Heil. They join Bambie Thug and Raiven in my Top 5. This is turning into a very good year and I’m really excited about May already.
Ukraine, Slovenia, Norway, France. Other songs are not it.
Wow, so many good ones already. I voted- Spain, Ukraine, Norway, France, Luxembourg, Slovenia and Czechia.
Ukraine’s song has been on my repeat play followed closely by Norway. But after the performances I have seen, Gåte caused a much bigger impact on me, visually and vocally they elevated the song.
Norway and only Norway. So good of them to finally send real music again after so many novelty entries. I’d love this one to win Eurovision.
Yesss! I would love Norway to win with Gåte!
It’s important to separate Ukraine’s impressive Eurovision record from the ongoing war. Their consistent success, culminating in being the only country to qualify for the finals every year since 2004, reflects years of exceptional talent and dedication. Even amidst hardship, Ukraine’s unwavering spirit and artistic prowess shine through on the Eurovision stage, and deserves recognition on its own merit.
Please, not Ukraine again. I am tired of politics in the festival.
What if people like the song? Are they allowed to vote for it?
If people genuinely like the song why they wouldn’t vote for it? Ukraine always sends great entries, it’s not like they send lame songs and people vote them just because of the war. They send extremely talented artists.
No lame entries? One word…. Tvorchi
I’m tired politics too, but this time it’s the song! Didn’t like winning 2022 at all, but Teresa&Maria is so anthemic!
I wish Melovin got the gig. He would’ve been my number 2 right now. Theresa song is okay, Nothing to write home about.
Mélovin’s song could also be an entry from Sweden or Cyprus. Therefore I think this was the right choice and the better song that won.
That is some nonsense there. Only because it’s pop you think it could be an entry from Sweden or Cyprus? Don’t you hear the melody and harmonies used in MELOVIN’s song? You can clearly feel the signature of an Eastern European country. A song like this could never be sent from a Northern European, Western or Mediterranean country.
See, this is the reason why I hate when people say that pop is a swedish thing. No, absolutely not. Pop is everywhere and is not necesseraly the same.
That being said, Jerry Heil and Alyona alyona were my favorites.
The song is very euro pop/dance which I love. The chosen song has great vocals. The rap part is a bit meh. I really think Dream lover would’ve had a more visual impact on stage.
I wasn’t expecting that sort of song from Melovin but he did it well. His staging was not good though, just a big empty stage. Not even anything projected behind him. In a contest that is increasingly putting too much emphasis on the backing dancers – he could have used a couple.
1. Spain
2. Slovenia
3. Luxembourg
Norway. Not much else to vote for.
Love Ukraine and Norway but I have to say France by far one of the best and definitely underrated.
I like Ukraine but I think it’s overhyped. I don’t think it will win. Well personally I don’t think it should anyway but this is Eurovision.
Norway on the other hand is very good. Norway disappointed me in the last 3 years but I think they made a good choice this year.
I mean is this even a question? Ukraine obviously, by far. I have to say that I changed my mind on Gåte though. I didn’t like their song at first but it is very interesting and it’s something we’re not used to hear with Norway. But still Ukraine is my favorite, miles ahead of the others.
My personal favorite so far is also Ukraine. And I admit, that Norway is a nice and unexpected surprise and will therefore not end in my bottom five as in recent years.
No need a war! It’s the song, which people are so fuzz about it!
Does anyone find it sad that the top 6 in the betting odds are these and these are the reasons why ….
1. Ukraine – last 3 years fave + war
2.uk – big 5
3. Italy – big 5
4. Iceland – war statement
5. Israel – war
6. Sweden – well it’s Sweden isn’t it
Change my mind
Italy – consistent quality, consistent top 5
UK – Ollie Alexander
Ukraine – consistent quality, consistent top 10
Israel – consistent quality
Sweden – consistent quality
Just to clarify the contest before the war happened Ukraine didn’t start favourite. Nor did they most years previous.
Israel last year were 20/1 at the start. This year opened joint favourite with Ukraine.
Uk is based on past fame
Sweden is Sweden as I said
Italy I will give you that one as consistent performers
If “big 5” is the reason, why aren’t all big 5 countries in the top?
So why are uk second? They’ve had one result in the last 25 years?
The representative for the UK is very famous. That’s why.
I wouldn’t hold my breath. They’ve sent well know acts in the past that have flopped.
I agree. Just commenting for the reason is at the top
Ok i will give you that. Add famous to the uk one. But still none are based on song all other factors or motives
it should be 2 results with 5. place in 2009
And the uk finished 3rd with Jessica garlick aswell
Perhaps because Olly Alexander is known worldwide (or at least his former group was)?!
Sweden is on top because they deserve it. Oops, did I say something I shouldn’t? Winning the juries are part of the competition. Like it or not. But winning because of politics and sometimes pity is not okay (looking at you Ukraine)
Ukraine sends great entries too, and more unique ones compared to Sweden. Of course, the war boosts their televote scores, but those songs would do well either way. I think Stefania would have won the televote even if there was no war in Ukraine, maybe the lead wouldn’t be as big though, and the jury score would probably be lower
The uk are in the top five not because they are in the big 5 but because they have one of the top 100 global selling artists over the past decade representing them. Italy are in the top five as the san remo festival has some of italys best singers competing in it. But I agree with the rest you mentioned and it is pretty sad. They should only really have odds on a country when the song is known otherwise what’s the point other than for speculation ????
You are right, people are just in denial. But that’s Eurovision nowadays.
Ukraine, cause of the song! UK, because their betting markets would like to believe so much in their own, like last year even the song was so lame.
I like the Ukrainian entry but I’ve decided to vote for France instead because I believe that Slimane is underrated in this poll.
Keep in mind that Albania, Czechia and France have not released their final version for Eurovision…
France? a revamp of the French song is planned?
If a revamp is planned, let’s hope it won’t ruin the song.
If he uses the new version I heard no it won’t ruin the song at all.
No there has been no writings about a revamp of France. Its only something that those that don’t like the song is wishing for. Ridiculous.
Calm down Stian, do we have the official music video and the official version posted on the Eurovision youtube channel? The Eurovision France youtube channel has deleted the video of the official live performance video of November. Slimane sings not the same version in his concerts, it’s not something I want or not, I like the first version and the other too. I just express facts that’s all.
We have not the official version neither the official music video, and Slimane was seen in his last concert singing a new version of Mon Amour, the beginning is the same, some beats have been added it seems in the second verses until the bridge and just after the bridge all is changed, arabic sounds, falsettos, tonality and a big note at the end. It feels more epic I don’t know what Slimane will do but I like this new version too.
