It’s a blink-and-you’ll miss it kind of preview, but SBS have released a 5 second snippet of Australia’s Eurovision entry.

Ahead of the official March 6 release, this snippet gives us some indication of the direction Australia’s entry is going down.

Within the snippet, we can hear a melodic start – almost cosmic or ethereal in nature. As the snippet ends, the melodic nature is sharply disrupted by an aggressive, electronic sound – almost robotic in nature. Some have compared the clashing combination of sounds from a Nokia 3310, to the sound of a dial up modem of the 1990s. Windows95man, reimagined?

We are unsure if the snippet is the opening of the song, or a random section throughout.

You can hear the snippet below.

Who is rumoured to be Australia’s entrant for Eurovision 2024?

SBS have been, to date, surprisingly coy in giving anything away about this year’s entrant. We do know that Dami Im, who previously represented Australia in 2016 and has expressed an interest in returning to the contest, has ruled herself out

In comments on the above post, fans are overwhelmingly predicting the snippet is former Australia Decides runners up Electric Fields. The snippet isn’t far removed from their kind of sound which uses electronic samples and interludes. While fans of the band are manifesting the duo make the Eurovision stage, we simply can’t tell who it is by the snippet, or exactly what genre of music Australia’s entry is reflecting. It’s a wait and see!

To drum up interest, last year’s entrants Voyager recently posted a trailer saying they knew who the entrant was. Even then, they’ve given us no indication as to who it might just be.

Australia’s entry to Eurovision will be released on March 6.

Who do you think is this year’s entrant for Australia at Eurovision? Do you get any inklings from the snippet? Let us know in the comments below.

It’s Official. Electric fields will represent Australia for Eurovision 2024! Five years after they were runner ups, it’s amazing to finally see them on the stage.

There are enough clues in the teaser featuring Voyager that the amazing, electrifying duo, ELECTRIC FIELDS have been selected to represent Australia Eurovision 2024. Game on! They are a powerhouse together! ??

Simone in clip is playing connect four? – a two player game. So Electric Fields.
Danny and drummer in one frame = 2
Scott wearing two green gloves.

Danny is drinking absinthe. Reminds me of absinthe induced fairy in Moulin Rouge – so Kylie? Or Electric Fields who are doing a collaboration with Baz Luhrmann.

The irony is at this time I can’t as an Australian actually listen to the snippet above. It doesn’t play at all for me ?????apparently more info on Wednesday morning here , Tuesday Europe so we all got sucked in because official announcement will be tomorrow according to SBS site.

It’s very likely from that snippet it’s Electric Fields however we have some amazing performers that it could be – my second guess would be Pnau or Empire of the Sun or maybe Flume.

Honestly… it’s gonna be alright. Although the snippet does not sound it I am still holding out for hope that BELLA TAYLOR-SMITH is chosen, cause she would bring Australia their first win.

Hopefully not electric fields , their previous attempt was loved by fans on here . The majority of the time fans here get it completely wrong compared to how public votes .

I at the same time hope it’s Electric Fields and dread it a little bit, because 2000 and Whatever was SO good, I don’t know how they will top it.
I’m still not over that they didn’t win that year.

They’ve done some much better stuff than that. I wasn’t a fan of the song but i love them. Their version of from Little Things is stunning.

What is Australia’s current arrangement with the EBU?

It was supposed to a once-off, which evolved into a five-year invitation… and now? Does anyone plan on telling us?

it will be Electric Fields. They tend to select previous contestants of the NF. Voyager were 2nd in ESC2022 and were chosen in 2023.

Electric Fields are long-time favourite entry.

Kate Miller-Heidke was one of the best Australian entries so far, but 2000 and Wathever was probably my favorite national selection entry of that year. So I’m hoping for an Electric Fields return!

The full 3-minute song is already available on Kaleen’s youtube channel, what “snippet” are they talking about?
It’s like sending someone a pack of your nudes on Grindr, but then telling them 2 months later that you wanna surprise them by showing them by taking off your shirt.

A classic case of someone who doesn’t read, and confuses AUSTRIA with AUSTRALIA.
And comes up with a whole elaborate metaphor to highlight his ignorance. ???

If Delta isn’t interested in giving her career a boost, or sharing her work with a large audience… then her loss. I think she’d do well. Although her last album was not great.
