Shame on you Sweden. Dotter had the best song this year and you treated her like this. Dotter was robbed this year and I believe Sweden doesn’t deserve her. Shame on you Sweden

I don’t care of what people here will say, I like this song and as always I find Sweden in the top of my ranking (not the 1st place though, I give it to Switzerland this year).
And don’t bother saying juries will overrate them. Of course juries will give points to this. Everything is perfectly staged. And I bet they will be in public’s top 5 too.
I don’t want Sweden to win though. It wouldn’t be good for the contest.

The song is just 1/3 of Air, also bit of it copy of Faithless Salva Mea (full vers.).

The song is unremarkable, but is the staging really as good as people are saying it is? Just the usual LED show and lighting, they don’t even have slick dance moves to justify this alleged goodness
I mean, I wouldn’t mind them winning just bc there’s not much to write home about Mello anyways, though

It will be such a shame if Sweden choose two Norwegian B-celebrities to represent them on home ground when they have such a variety of their own artists who would have the experience of their lives and be so honoured to fly the Swedish colours. For M&M this is just another step on their ladder to become stars. They would probably represent any random country if asked.

M&M is a great light show and dance routine but is it a great song? It’s all packaging and no content. Unfortunately there is little competition so their victory seems certain.

Petra can make other arrangements for May 2025. Sweden won’t be hosting next year.

I feel the complete opposite regarding M&M songs. I hated the one from last year but I kinda appreciate this one. That being said I still have a problem with their music. I have no doubt that they’re ready for Eurovision but I think it would be better for them to mature a bit more (2-3 years). It could be good for their music but also their voices because I think they still need a bit work on that point. Anyway, them or Jacqline or Maria Sur will for sure bring a new top 10 to Sweden and I wouldn’t… Read more »

M&M’s performance is very impressive, however the song is really basic. If they win I expect the 2018 situation. (Maybe a few points more, since they’ll get guaranteed 12 points from Norway)

It’s time we knew just who these international juries are and how they operate. The spokespeople are generally from the delegations of other countries, but I never know exactly who is voting or how they have been drafted. Are they comprised of varying demographics, or is it just a bunch of similar-minded fans? I am a juries supporter in general, but only on the condition of full transparency.

If we are being totaly realistic, what exactly is a great show of M&M? 3 walls around them with LED projections. Their dance is almost non existant, song is generic pop, and that’s about it. The hype is there from their fans, not from the general public.

I agree on M&M for the win, although the entry smells a little reheated. 2018 the sequel. I am not super impressed with this lineup but tbh it’s still probably enough to secure a top 10 at esc even if only thanks to juries.

I haven’t listened to the songs this year so I’ll be getting my first impressions tonight live. From what I am seeing though it’s more of the same for Melfest once again, I really hoped with them hosting they would try something different.

In fact, he’d probably be very happy if M & M won. He knows the pressure, disappointment, and defeat of coming 2nd two years in a row, and kind soul that he is, would not want to inflict that on them.

Another reason why he “doesn’t care” – self- protection.

One day I’d love to see Sweden take a big risk, like Ireland this year. We already know from the line up that this won’t happen in 2024, but I’ll watch nonetheless. It’s going to be such an odd programme, where everyone speaks in Swedish but all the songs are in English.

Props to the visual artists and the camera director(s) for the stage act of M&M. That is peak live-event directing and staging.

In other news, the song is basically a non-event, plastic, there and has the taste of no-taste.

Just like every Swedish product these past 10 years. Or more.

That is valid point.

But, I will always be anti-Sweden when its fanboys come at me defending the bland pop songs that Sweden ALWAYS brings on the table – great packaging/visuals, zero originality in their pop sound. It may have been good 2010/11/12/13, but it is the same formula over and over again. Plenty of good visuals, zero sound.

Literally the most irrelevant National Final of tje season. 3/4ths of the songs basically follow the same recipe recycled with minimal changes.
My top 3 of Melo 2024:
1. Maria Sur – “When I’m Gone” (8.5/10)
2. Cazzi Opeia – “Give My Heart A Break” (8/10)
3. Marcus & Martinus – “Unforgettable” (7/10)

I like Dotter and never expect she’ll try a melodramatic song but honestly I’d prefer Smash Into Pieces and/or Cazzi Opeia and I really feel bad for them because it’s obvious they’re less likely to be chosen but I cannot comprehend with the hype with Marcus & Martinus but it’s Sweden they can make even the worst generic song to become great, so I don’t care much whoever they choose because Sweden is a powerhouse.

None of the finalists are winners. As a Swede, i can say that I (and many more) are tired of us constantly sending the same type of song every year (Except Cornelia Jakobs who was an exception). Half of us are so tone deaf and only vote for names and ignore the song. The same thing will definitely happen again next year, the songs that stand out the most go out, while the worst go to the final. Even If we were to change the system in Melfest, it would only be unfair in the end. Scarlet was the only… Read more »

And I do not agree. The formula has worked well for Sweden, why risk it? Sweden and Italy are the only countries that can ” get away” with safe songs because they do it well. Yes Scarlett could have been picked. But then what? Ending up at 24th place? There is nothing that suggest Scarlett has the mass appeal you need to be succesfull in ESC , despite fans praising it. Would older people across Europe vote for it? Would people in the Balkan countries get it? It is a contest after all. I woud rather we send songs that… Read more »
