After confirming its participation in Eurovision 2025, Lithuania’s broadcaster LRT has been busy preparing for its national selection. The latest announcement from the channel has come through TV adverts promoting Eurovizija.LT 2025. The final will be broadcast live from Kaunas Žalgirio Arena. That suggests Eurovision 2025 producers in Lithuania are taking it very seriously. The arena is the largest in the Baltics and it can hold 22,500 spectators for concerts…so there’s plenty of room for all of you.

Žalgirio Arena will host the Eurovizija.LT 2025 live final

This comes as no surprise after last year’s successful launch of Eurovizija.LT. The show received a lot of media attention as well as a wide range of entries, with 10 of the best ones being performed live in Klaipėda, Švyturys Arena in front of an audience of 5,000 people.

Eurovision fans enthusiastically await a list of artists shortlisted for the national selection. According to LRT, Eurovizija.LT 2025 will consist of either 4 or 5 heats and a final held on February 15th. LRT was exceptionally early in opening the window for song submissions this year, starting at the end of the summer. According to LRT’s executive producer Audrius Giržadas, it was to give Lithuanian artists more time to submit songs and prepare for the big show in Switzerland. It was expected that LRT would close the submission window on November 11th. However, the broadcaster extended the entry submission deadline by two weeks, until November 25th.

This year during the heats,  the jury comments will appear after the songs as in previous Lithuanian national pre-selections before Eurovizija.LT. The final format will stay the same as last year. Voting will take place after all songs are performed. It will consist of a 50/50 split between the jury and the Lithuanian public votes. The three entries with the most points will perform their songs again. The Lithuanian TV public will decide the winner.

This isn’t the first time that Lithuania has hosted their national final in one of the biggest venues in the country. This will be the third time Žalgirio Arena hosts the Lithuanian national final, and the fifth time LRT chooses to organise it in a venue outside the usual LRT Studio. Here’s a quick reminder…

  • Švyturys Arena in Klaipėda (2017)
  • Žalgirio Arena in Kaunas (2018)
  • Žalgirio Arena in Kaunas (2020)
  • Švyturys Arena in Klaipėda (2024)

Unfortunately, she said she would never go to the contest after Silvester’s experiences, sucks however I hope she participates one day.

So it’s an A-lister arena, extremely expensive to host. Does that suggest a strong lineup for Lithuania? It’s getting exciting.

That arena is the reason I wish Lithuania wins someday. They truly have an arena where the event can be hosted.

Hopefully, there will enough good songs that Lithuania will be spoiled for choice. I don’t want them to have one of the weaker national final options for 2025. True, I usually expect a mixed bag because they have so many songs competing, but we’ll see.

I wonder if this will be the venue that Lithuania could use to host Eurovision should they actually win it one day.

It actually would! It’s either Vilnius or Kaunas if we win anytime soon – and this is the Kaunas one 🙂

Ok! This will be one of the biggest National Finals with Sweden and Finland, exciting.
Moreover when we know which acts were selected already in this Žalgirio arena, Ieva Zasimauskait? and The Roop, they gave great results for Lithuania, so it means Lithuania has good ambitions again this year, let’s see.
