The team at WiwiBloggs.Com love when one song reminds us of another—and the latest example shows that folk and rock can, in fact, overlap. Gloria—one of Wiwi’s more observant readers—recently noticed similarities in Zeljko Joksimovic’s 2012 Eurovision song “Nije ljubav stvar” (Love Is Not a Thing) and A Friend in London’s 2011 Eurovision song “New Tomorrow.” The melodies mirror one another, albeit only briefly, in the extracts you can listen to below (or by clicking here). And for the record, we are not making any allegations of plagiarism or musical theft. Just pointing out a rather interesting coincidence. Love, Wiwi

Well.. New tomorrow is a rip off from the song “Sing for me” by Andreas Johnson (search youtube).
Loreen isn’t a sensation to everyone her song is like every american pop song
i am getting sick of two things, first i am sick of people who says zeljko joksimovic use music of coldplay and etc. and second i am sick of Loreen and Euphoria (sorry Sweden) there s nothing special in that song, but it doesnt matter because we ll se how they sound live, remember, last year, before eurovision start,Sweden was on the first place but in the end they finish third, sorry for bad english
Yes, He use music of Coldplay-Paradise, and use also lots of music of New Tomorow…. So, he’s not an artist…
If you call this similarity…between Serbia song from this year and Denmark song from last year…listen the Estonia song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSQdnvzV8CE and this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCJL60XdLQ0&feature=related. The beginning of estonian song is very similar with the chorus of the other song….
But yes!!
New? tomorrow is a huge rip-off of this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hu7xvGDMeBQ
(he’s swedish), sorry my english!
Am I the only one who’s getting sick of the Loreen hype?
Seriously, this post had nothing to do with her, so please give us a rest.
About the post, are we gonna start with these kind of thing this early in the year? Yeah, songs sound alike sometimes and there’s nothing wrong with it as long as they aren’t ripoffs. Somehow “New tomorrow” always reminded me of “Love shine a light”.
My music teacher, (now I only studied music for six weeks than dumped it), used to say that the beat of a piece of music was the most important thing to get people to like it. Really in this case the beat would seem to be the only thing they have it common.
I do believe that there are a couple of beats that actually can push you up the table in Eurovision.
I suppose this comparison coupled with all the comments about AFIL’s song sounding like a bunch of OTHER europop songs (most famously Andreas Johnson’s Sing for Me) proves that that is Europe’s favorite melody.
