Forty-two acts will compete at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, but there can only be one winner. To help you make an informed decision about where to cast your vote, the Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of music un-professionals — has previewed and reviewed each of this year’s acts. It’s hard work being honest, but somebody has to do it.
Our jury consists of 38 jurors who hail from Australia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Kosovo, Malta, Morocco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States. We are truly international, y’all!
Each juror assesses each song independently, and then awards each song a score from 0 to 10. The highest and lowest scores are then dropped to determine the Wiwi Jury average.
Reviews were made in March 2017 and are based on available versions of the songs at that time. As always, Wiwi Jury reviews will not be changed to reflect new information from pre-party performances or the Eurovision rehearsals.

I do agree with all of the ideas you have presented in your post. They’re really convincing and will certainly work. Still, the posts are very short for novices. Could you please extend them a bit from next time? Thanks for the post.
Highest rated entry that didn’t qualify is Macedonia and lowest rated entry that did qualify is Croatia.
Sorry but,.. any panel that allocates the ‘cheese’ & the ‘car-crash’ of Albania & Montenegro (respectively) higher praise than, say, Georgia’s entry is evidently a totally eff’d-up one!! … Now I’m not saying that ‘Keep the Faith’ is/would’ve been a winner, BUT i do believe it’s nevertheless unfairly underrated, as it deserved to at very least make it thru to the final – (especially over comparatively weaker/worse that did make it through – like say, Poland or Cyprus for ex.) And no I’m not a sore Georgian – just saying they were robbed IMO! … Plus, Finland a 7.3 ???… Read more »
Has anybody tried this yet, before the contest begins?

A lot of overrated countries, starting with Italy. Good song, but no winning material in my opinion. No comments for Belgium, FYROM, Bulgaria, Israel, Sweden. They are all pretty banal entries. Pleasantly surprised to see Finland so high (possible winner in my opinion). Most underrated are Romania (maybe split reviews) and Croatia. Anyway, it’s not a prediction, I don’t think that the results in the show will come close to the Wiwibloggs’ Review.
Hello Wiwibloggs!
First of all, want to thank William, Robin, and all the crew for the hard job on judging the entries, pretty much the most fun pieces from this site 🙂
Secondly, I recollected (and cleaned up, #typoking speaking) the comments/reviews of my own, you may look at them here!

Hope you have a blast in Kiev!

Funny how a song can grow on me and on the other hand , how a song I loved to start with can get outworn and sound dull within some days or weeks. My current top ten (compared with the place they had to start with): 1. Azerbaijan (15) 2. Belgium (12) 3. Bulgaria (3) 4. Albania (10) 5. Italy (1) 6. UK (2) 7. Finland (4) 8. Sweden (8) 9. Portugal (15) 10. Estonia (5) Bubbling under: Armenia, Greece, France And the situation is living up all the time. It’s going to be hard to decide who’s getting my… Read more »
Scores of this year remind 2012 for wiwi, excluding fact of having significantly lesser number of juries back then.
2016: 3 songs ranked above 8.5, 2 ranked 8.0+ followed by 5 ranked above 7.5;
2015: 1 song ranked 8.5 and 8 songs ranked 8.0+ followed by 3 ranked above 7.5;
2014: 1 8.5+ ranked song, 5 songs ranked 8.0+ followed by 5 ranked above 7.5;
2013: 3 8.0+ ranked and 1 above 7.5;
2012: 1 9.0+ ranked and 2 above 7.5.
And Gabbani is still closest to Euphoria by rank here (8.96 against her 9.25).
Glad Sweden was knocked out the top 3, and also Finland from top 5. It seems Estonia will miss top 10, as Belgium will definitely get a verdict higher than 7…
I predict the final Wiwi jury to be:
1. Italy
2. France
3. Belgium
4. Azerbaijan
5. FYROM
6. Sweden
7. Finland
8. Bulgaria
9. Israel
10. Hungary
#This is my design! 🙂
So after 40 songs and 3 left, the U.K. is the baseline.
I’m guessing Belgium is going to be over an 8, FYR Macedonia is between 6.5-7, and Lithuania…. eek.
And now that Serbia is out of the Wiwi Top 10, Finland is more than obvious it will be out of the semis based on my theory.
At the risk of sounding like a nag, where is the French video? Completely appreciate your workload, only asking because you’ve put up videos of the jury reviews you published on the website later. 🙂
Keep up the fantastic work!
Finally, Belarus is out of top 10… Undeserved and unjustified rank, that’s simply too high for such a common song. Others are outrageously low (Romania, Ireland, Georgia…. Even for Portugal, Bulgaria and Poland I had expected higher verdicts). But things will be totally different in Eurovision, thank God!
There is no link to Australia. 🙁
Thanks Robyn! BTW Australia is my country 🙂
Oh my god, whos votting here? Who are the experts votting here? Shame wiwi dont são please this is a wiwi votting.
EDVS
Just for fun, let’s try to predict the score for remaining 7 songs.
Italy – 8.2
Belgium – 8.0
Estonia – 7.3
Macedonia – 7.1
Switzerland – 6.9
Ukraine – 5.5
Lithuania – 2.9
These are not my ratings, these are predictions of Wiwibloggs score. Am I close? 🙂
Oh my god it is lithuania LMAO
Guys, how do you make this results announcement order ? I understand that you leave favourites in the end so that it would be intersting to wait for, but what’s the point to make e.g. Lithuania in the end as well ? Everyone knows it’s not the favourite and it would score bad 🙂
I see, I nailed Switzerland almost to a ‘T’. 🙂
I wasn’t *that* far off with Italy, Estonia and Ukraine either, though.
I am really interested in the results for Belgium, Macedonia and Lithuania.
Am I the only one who sees that Anastas always gives too low points. I can’t remember a song that he ranked above 6. He shouldn’t be in this jury
Oooh, can I actually suggest something in line with this comment? I’d love to see a table with each juror’s score, kinda like the table we see after voting results are released. It’d be interesting to see how each juror voted, and it would help readers find the Wiwibloggers most similar to them. 😉
Anastas just gave Macedonia 10/10…
Interesting fact:
There’s always at least one song that finishes in the top 10 on Wiwi reviews but fails to make the final. Depending how Belgium, Italy, Estonia, and maybe FYR Macedonia scores, I can see either Finland, Israel, or Serbia being out.
Also, Portugal is rank too low! ????
Portugal 17th? Norway 19th? Netherlands 23rd? And they will be even lower after all the reviews are done. This is really sad for me, particularly because Wiwibloggs is my favorite medium covering Eurovision. I really hope this doesn’t reflect on the live shows results.
… However, I’m happy for Belarus, Finland and Hungary.
Whatever. Antranig, Sami and Tobias will always hate Portugal, and I mean the country, not the song, I doubt the later 2 even listened to it. Is it a hated song by many? Yes, Chris proves so. But these 3 are just pathetic. They are clearly biased by the country that sends the song. You will defend them Robyn but at this point it’s obvious what I say is true.
#TeamDiHaj Proud of you
DiHaj, BE PROUD! As much as I LOVE Sweden this year, it excites me that such a diverse musical panel has ranked Azerbaijan so highly. I would not be mad at seeing Eurovision 2018 in the Baku Crystal Hall!
Finland, Belarus and Austria in top 10? Give me a break… Also, Portugal, Poland and Romania are too low rabked. We all know things will look entirely different in Eurovision. Belarus, Finland and Austria won’t even qualify, we shall see….
Agree….
…that you were wrong 😀 And we shall see too, that POR and FIN are in top 12 in the grand final. You see, your taste is not the same as all the 100 million voters.
Finland, Bularus and Austria are amazing and deserve Top 10.
I wouldn’t be so confident on their no-qualification 😉
Finland fully deserve a Top Ten place and Romania are far too highly ranked! 😉
Romania has the secured votes from the usual countries voters: Israel, Belgium, Ireland, Norway (from the 2nd semifinal). In the final, to those votes count the ones from: Moldova, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus (to name just a few). So you see, Finland will end up lower than Romania. Coz it will only attract votes from their Nordic neighbors only (IF they will vote for it, coz I have a big question mark about that). You’re excited coz the snoozefest Finland is in top 10 in the wiwi jury and Romania is on 23?… Don’t worry, it’s just a poll,… Read more »
I find it highly amusing that the two songs that have Australian’s in them (Denmark and Australia) both got the same points lol
Is it possible that future jury can come from Asia, the Philippines to be exact.
Thank you.
William at UMK review gave to NormaJohn a 5 and now a 7.5…
Blackbird at UMK review was third and now out of 31 acts is…second
Hmmm
That was 3 months ago, UMK. A song can grow on someone or then it lose its charm, either ways.
Austria above Iceland?! Behave!
You left the best songs at the end 😉
Well we’re still waiting on Lithuania, so clearly not.
hahahahahaahaah D E A D
Lithuania is actually my winner.
Indeed. Methinks they might be predisposed to punishing Ukraine for all that has happened over the last month. I happen to think that’s what the writers at OikoTimes did when they put O.Torvald last on their scorecard. They definitely don’t have a winner, but they are not THE worst. They are my #34, after my 2nd evaluation.
I wouldn’t think so. The blog separates music from politics, or else they wouldn’t have given Russia their top points last year.
I mean the best songs overall. They were still to be reviewed.
Finland and Serbia! Like like like!
I wonder how Germans (who paid a fortune to a stolen song) feel about you ranking their very own Ralf Siegel above Levina’s perfect life?
As a german I’d prefer everything over Siegel, I like him for countries like San Marino but thats it.
And sorry its not a stolen song thats nonsense and at the end of the day it is just a fan ranking here, so i guess its ok when no one likes our song, same procedure as every year since 2013! 🙂
I’m really enjoying this, I can’t wait to see Portugal, Italy, Bulgaria, Finland and Hungary’s results.
Great job Wiwi! Keep going!
Yay, guessing game! So if the UK occupy position 22 there will be 21 above and 21 below (including Russia), this means there are currently 12 more countries to go above UK and 7 to go below. Based on Wiwi jury tendencies, I reckon they’ll go something like this (in no particular order) 12 countries Higher than UK: Italy, Belgium, Portugal, France, FYR Macedonia, Hungary, Azerbaijan, Australia, Estonia, Finland, Switzerland, Albania*. 7 countries lower than UK: Croatia, Lithuania, San Marino, Ireland, Moldova, Ukraine, Austria* *the two are the ones I’m least confident about, they could easily be switched around! Also… Read more »

On another note, there isn’t a link to Armenia’s jury review. Just thought I’d give you a heads up.
Damn. This year is rather drab looking at the scores so far. Is any song worth an average over 8?
I think that since there’s mory jurors this year, it’s tougher to get a higher score.
There it is! Italy coming in red hot! Considering the number of jurors, 8.96 is phenomenal. I wonder if any other song can get above 8. Belgium, maybe?
You forgot Armenia.
Speaking of the U.K. score, who would’ve thought 2 years ago that Wiwibloggs would rate the U.K. above Norway, Russia and Greece?
Srsly Sweden first? I mean… it’s such a trashy cheesy pop song, annoying as hell. Wow. And Montenegro so high? You’re kidding, right?
The Wiwibloggs team have raved about Italy, Belgium and many other songs yet to be officially reviewed by their jury. I don’t think Sweden will top their scoreboard.
thank you for the high score wiwi! love you from israel <3
With 38 jurors, it makes me think that a score of 7.00 and above is actually really good, with anything higher than an 8.00 (or 8.50? Is that even possible with this many jurors?) a solid Eurofan favorite. Reading the comments and watching the jury videos, and with so many different tastes, it’s hard to find an entry that satisfies everyone, so I’ve started to compromise a 5.75 – 6.99 rating as reasonably good, but not the strongest entry. Anything lower than that then we know it’s weak amongst you folks, but the averages end up so tight! As of… Read more »

I think “Lights and shadows” is bring something new and special in eurovision now days.
I actually believe that you guys just rated every modern-ish song (Israel, Denmark and Iceland) highly whereas songs like “Lights and shadows” and “Flashlight” are underrated because their ballads that don’t necessarily connect with an audience of today’s younger people
Robyn, I couldn’t have said it any better.
My reaction to Lithuania’s song: Neh neh neh neh neeeeeh neh!!
Waiting for the same thing. It should be rated very bad. And then after success in semifinal they will be all saying how good it was and how they improved…
get behind the Uk, winner is right here, London 2018
Can’t wait to see how will Wiwijury underrate Lithuania 😛
