The day has come! RTVE has finally revealed the full versions of all 10 Eurovision gala entries and we can finally how will they sound like on Sunday’s gala.
Here they are! Click on each title to listen to the full songs:
OT Eurovision Gala: Full Songs
- Carlos Right with “Se te nota”
- Famous with “No puedo más”
- Julia with “Qué quieres que haga”
- María with “Muérdeme”
- Marilia with “Todo bien”
- Miki with “La venda”
- Natalia with “La clave”
- Natalia & Miki with “Nadie se salva”
- Noelia with “Hoy vuelvo a reír otra vez”
- Sabela with “Hoy soñaré”
There we go! Two more minutes have been added to each demo, with full productions and several tweaks.
After a quick listen, we’ve noticed some changes in particular. Miki now sings the chorus of “La venda” slightly higher, María’s “Muérdeme” has a much subtler beat, and Famous’ “No puedo más” has entered the 21st century with a full revamp. Is the OT winner back in the game?
As we reported earlier, rehearsals are well underway for this year’s gala in Barcelona. From the sneak peaks RTVE has given us, we’ve seen Marilia nailing her choreography, Noelia and Sabela belting it out, and Natalia and Miki rehearsing their moves for their duet.
The winner is in the audience hands, meaning no jury (nor a potentially controversial one) will have any vote. But four faces will sit in the oh-so-famous OT jury chairs to offer commentary. They are: Manuel Martos (OT jury member and Universal Spain executive producer), Pastora Soler (ESC 2012), Tony Aguilar (Los 40 Principales) and Doron Medalie (songwriter of Netta’s “Toy”).
The show won’t only welcome Pastora and Doron’s familiar faces, but also a chart-topping diva. Eleni Foureira — who finished second in Lisbon in 2018 — is calling and we’re fly-fly-flying in heaven. Fiery as ever, Eleni is expected to burn the stage — and the nation!
Who is your favourite for Sunday? Have your thoughts changed with the full versions? Who has improved and who got worse?
Some songs sound the same, some others sound a little different.
“La venda” was improved I think. It’s an up-beat song you want to dance to, the live performance can elevate it.
Famous’s song sounds better now than the other version. I liked it already and I like it even more now.
The one that stands out is probably Maria’s “Muerdeme”. I appreciate the Spanish sound and Spain needs an up-beat song this time.
For me, it’s between those 3.
The Bandage/La Venda They buy it because you sell it. You sell it, because you have so much of it. You get lost because you found a way to. I’m telling you, there are other options You leave because you love yourself. You choose because you found a way to. I’m telling you, there are other options. The bandage is gone, now what’s left is just happiness. The bandage is gone, now what’s left is just happiness. The bandage is gone, so new days will start. The bandage is gone, your fantasies reappeared. The bandage is gone, and you will be… Read more »
son unos boludos
What’s up with muerdeme?
It got “muerdered” by a re-vamp. 😛
(Disclaimer: That joke is only word-play. In spite of it, I do wish María all the best on Sunday.)
Let’s go Noelia , anyone thinking this song is less than perfect needs a knock on the head!! Bring back some powerhouse vocals and belt out a ballad moment!! Enough of this duo rubbish that’s been running a muck on the Eurovision stage, no one needs a fake act or some over produced dance bop… GIVE ME A DIVA AND A BALLAD!!
Cheap version of Pastora Soler? Straight to 26
Well, most probably another year that very unfortunately we won’t see the ESC in Spain. And 2019 – 50 years after the last victory – would give such a nice narrative. It’s not that they are all bad. They are very average and not outstanding. In my humble opinion, the power ballad of Noelia and the latin uptempo of Natalia&Miki have the greater chances of success for Top 10 in Tel Aviv. As a power ballad sucker, my favorite has to be Noelia’s song…
Muerdeme should be revamped like into Sweden or something. It’s horrible now.
I don’t think there’s any song I dislike apart from se te nota and maybe que quieres que haga. However hoy sonare should have been given to someone with a bigger voice to make it really something special.
Ugh sooo cringy!!!! I hate all the songs now! Carlos Right for Eurovision, he is for now the only one with a decent song who can get Spain out of the Top 20.
Agreed. Se te note is the only good song.
Spain won the jackpot in 2018 with a stunningly beautiful song sung by two breakout stars. (Yet due to getting the “death slot”, it finished badly in Eurovision anyhow.) There is only one way to go after such a great moment, and that’s down. The songwriters have seemingly realised this, and that is a pity. There are some really good artists here, who could sound much better with some more creative songwriting. Basically Spain’s choice is divided between those with superb vocal talent (e.g. Noelia, Sabela etc.) and those with reasonably interesting song concepts (Miki, Maria, Famous, Carlos Right). With… Read more »
You sure Tu crapción only flopped bc of running order? It wasn’t going beyond bottom 5 had it been performed last.
We’ll never actually know for sure. But it is my opinion that it would have scored better in a later slot.
Exactly. Maybe it would have made it to 22nd instead of 23rd. Big difference.
maria best song
If someone was forcing me to choose it would have to be La Clave. Warm, catchy, fun. Probably enough for TOP20. La Venda is good but it sounds like on x1.5 speed. Way too fast, even if you close your eyes and imagine a Carnival setting. What gets me is that some NFs have no interesting entries, yet others have like 5. They should gather them all in 1 pot and distribute among potential representatives from all countries after the NFs are over. Let’s say in 2018 Aisel singing Dominoes that Saara wasn’t using. I know, I’m living in LaLa… Read more »
Now that we have the full revamped 3 minutes, it’s time to share my thoughts. In general, I have to say it is a very average selection, the songs are thought for our national market : Carlos Right – “Se te nota”. I kinda like his voice. I like how the song starts, but then it gets a bit monotonous and repetitive trying to fill the gaps with syllables without sense. Overall very bland and goes nowhere. Still better than its 1-min-demo. Famous – “No puedo más”. Wow! This revamped version is miles better than the previous one. Arguably the… Read more »
Yay someone else loves Famous!!
Very good analysis. I love “La Venda” the most, but I agree about the chorus. I am so used to hearing Miki sing it lower in the 1 minute clip. I certainly don’t mind him singing it higher, but they should have Miki mix it up a bit and save going higher until later in the chorus as you suggested. Either way, I want “La Venda” to win!
‘Muerdeme’ now sounds like it was produced by the team who did the music for Super Mario on Atari. All songs sound cheap like a karaoke versions of the real deal. Won’t be hitting #Replay on those. 😉
Thank you, next!
Unpopular opinion: Sabela’s song Hoy sonare is just BEAUTIFUL
I’m not a fan of the song, but she has a very beautiful tone. When they find the right material to fit it (it happened a few times in OT and also in the verses of this particular song), it becomes really special.
By the way, the links used in this article are the bad quality ones. In spotify or in “only audio” section of RTVE’s web, you have the real versions, with the real sound. You’ll be glad with the difference. 😉
I agree with the comments.. they have somehow made all the songs worse.. say hello to last place lol
Okay, why did they do that to Muérdeme, which was the clear winner before today? Is it because of María’s statements about Israel? I feel like Spain is once again doomed this year. They should’ve played safe and produced a Lo malo 2.0 – it baffles me how the ONLY country in Europe that could send a credible reggae song while it’s a very popular genre is wasting its chances like this, and would rather send cheap, outdated crap.
Only decent song is Carlos’ ‘Se te nota’, but watch the Spaniards pick a horrendous song like last year.
Subjective.
We’ll see how they place in the scoreboard. Watch.
because is the worst one. And yes, that statement is subjective too, like yours when you say is “the only decent one”.
Read the comments before listening to the songs expecting disaster.
I think “Muérdeme” is still the best option for Spain if Maria doesn’t kill it live, but “La Venda” would also be fine. Sadly, I think Famous’ song is still too weak and the revamp did nothing to change my mind.
Noelia is the “safe” option, I think she would make a solid diva impression in the final and is far and away the best voice in the competition, but we’ve seen it before.
Are you all ready for another Eurodrama? It’s time to grab some popcorn!
Hahahaha, Love it!!
My top are:
1. “La Clave” – Natalia (very catchy)
2. “Todo Bien” – Marilia (I like her voice and her attitude, catchy as well)
This year I wanna dance!!!! Don’t wanna fall asleep again with Spanish entry
My top 5 are : famous, carlos, julia, sabela and noelia.
Love love love those songs.
I bought snacks for sunday night!
Spain plz make me a happy fan on sunday. Thanks.
I guess my top 5 looks like this now:
1. Miki and Natalia/”Nadie se salva”
2. Natalia/”La clave”
3. Marilia/”Todo bien”
4. Miki/”La venda”
5. María/”Muérdeme”
No one is talking about sabela and hoy sonare. Its freaking beautiful!!
After listening to the full versions:
1. Famous 8/10
2. Noelia 6/10
3. Miki 6/10
4. Maria 5/10
5. Miki & Natalia 4.5/10
I like Maria, Noelia Soler and Famous. the rest: thanks for trying.
tremenda porquería, malas canciones, no dan pie con bola, tremendo
I have fallen in love with No Puedo Mas this evening. The chorus has so much more power now and that bridge is just insane. I would love to see this at Eurovision, It would be such a breath of fresh air for Spain and he really wants to do it. Personally, even though I still don’t like it, Muerdeme got better. It’s a fine little bop but not something I would ever vote for.
#Famoustowin
he’s awesome!
I must say that I’m disappointed with Muerdeme 🙁
Famous ftw!!!
Hi. I am Spanish. Spain will never win Eurovision but I hope you like the winning song this Sunday. Thanks for your opinions 🙂
If you send a good song you might, probably the next chance will be 2020
Damn. They all so sound so cheaply made. Did they get an amateur high school producer to make the tracks on his laptop using Fruity Loops from the 90s?
I have so much to say about this, and I will dissect each song, but first to make it quick – Noelia to Eurovision. Period.
I agree. Although the outcome will be the same with anyone. A place way beyond 20th.
Also my favorite 🙂
I hate to be repetitive but i agree with most comments already made.
What they have done to Muerdeme is a travesty. I was SO prepared to row in behind that song, now its meh!!
I still like Carlos Right and his gentle and smooth vocal but the only song which has improved out of all recognition is Famous. The gospel backing toward the end really elevates this.
We won’t be having the ESC 2020 in Spain unfortunately!???
Muérdeme <3
Well, I’m glad they killed Maria’s chances for victory. I assure you it would be really uncomfortable watching William and Deban interview Maria after her statements about Eurovision and Israel. It would just make her a hypocrite. Send someone who’s enthusiastic about the contest, please. There are a lot of singers who would do anything to get the chance to represent their countries in Eurovision and here we have a spoiled girl who’s disrespecting the fans and the contest itself. If you look at her rehearsal video on RTVE channel, she makes it seem like someone’s forcing her to do… Read more »
OMG! First at all, they have signed a contract, so if she win she has to go to Tel Aviv. And she isn’t the only hypocrite. There have been hypocrital jounolists that I don’t want to mention.
Germany 2015 says hi!
Wait till sunday and let’s talk about muerdeme being killed lol
What did she say?
You are right. As we say in Spain:” Es una niña caprichosa”. Let the place to singers who really want to represent with heart to Spain. I think she is not the real favourite but I love the Julia Song: que quieres que haga? If you listen it 2 0 3 times..it is so good and sweet and the lyrices in Spanish are so beatiful
same. I dont want any haters at the contest!
I like La Venda the most, but they shouldn’t have changed the chorus, original sounded better
I honestly love Muerdeme but why did they give it to maria ughh
I am shocked that they have toned down Muerdeme. It’s as if they want to sink that song. Seems like they are trying hard to make sure that Famous goes for the double. Oh well…Should be interesting
Wouldnt surprise me, given the fact that he really seems to want to go. Maybe its the best thing to pick the one who is most enthusiastic about it, in order to perform well. (I wouldnt mind if the song got another revamp though)
Oh I was referring to Famous. I am not sure whats going on with Maria there.
There will be many female pop songs anyway. So I am not sad about “Muerdeme”. I have a feeling that they will send Famous. The revamped version of his song sounds pretty decent and he’s very good as a live performer. Plus he really wants to go to Eurovision. But Noelia could do it too.
Exactly!!!!
Id be over the moon if her goes! soeone who really desires to represent his country
maria clearly does not want to go to eurovision, she ruined a very good song – is it even possible to say that a demo was better than the final version. the chorus lost its power and just became flat.
Storms demo was better than the final
Honestly, Spain can count themselves lucky if they end up 23rd this year, like Alfred and Amaia. Any of these acts paired with whatever terrible staging choice the broadcaster is apparently destined to come up with will not manage to impress. It really goes to show that size means nothing. Teeny tiny broadcasters (NOT San Marino. Never San Marino.) are doing so much more with so much less every year.
maria ruined a very good song, she clearly doesn’t want to go.
Except for the fact that Maria did neither compose nor produce the song
Anything but Maria. Thanks!
Only Maria. Anything else will flop. Thanks!
Nadie se salva but please with the power it seemed to have before! For some strange reason the only decent productions seem to be No puedo mas, Se te nota and Hoy vuelvo a reir otra vez. I think we might experience big surprises on Sunday’s final, as to the versions and to each of the songs’ energy on stage.. also those who don’t want to go to TLV won’t bother to give it all, I can imagine. Which then leaves it to Famous I guess. Anyway hard thing to foresee how this will go on Sunday. Until May a… Read more »
100% agree of what you said!!!!!!
Thank you!!!
I am happy to hear that! Lets see who will surprise us!
I am really clueless and excited to see what will happen on Sunday 🙂
All the songs are so similar that they loose impact. Is the author of the songs the same person?
I will wait for the live performances to make a serious judgement. As for now… Todo bien and Muerdeme are the songs i like.
Nadie se salva please!!!!
1-Noelia-Hoy vuelvo a reir otra vez
2-Famous- No puedo mas
3-Maria-Murderme
4-Marilia-Todo Bien
The only ones worth it
I really really like Noelia and Julia’s song!!! Fingers crossed for them! The rest of the songs sound the same…not in a good way.
It’s an unusual thing to say about an upbeat song, but “Muerdeme” is really boring. Pity, cuz it sounded fun as a snippet. I think that the best options for Spain would be Miki, Famous or Noelia. I would prefer Miki though. Good luck!
La Venda was my favorite, but I really don’t like the revamp. A bit torn now.
