On Thursday, the Russian group Little Big released their Eurovision 2020 entry “Uno”. But as well as dropping the music video, the group also performed the song live on a Russian talk show — giving clues as to their staging for Eurovision 2020.
The song was given its live debut on the popular late-night talk show Вечерний Ургант (Evening Urgant), hosted by Ivan Urgant. The group closed the show, giving viewers their first taste of Russia’s entry for Eurovision 2020.
For anyone who has seen the “Uno” music video, the live performance will be very familiar. The talk show performance faithfully followed the music video, down to the costumes, choreography, iconic kung-fu dancer and even very similar camera angles.
This suggests that this may be very close to what Little Big plan to take to Rotterdam. The staging has been compared to a classic Eurovision performance from the 1970s — goofy dancing, flared trousers and all — and it seems like it would be an effortless transition to the Ahoy Arena stage.
But if there’s anything we’ve learned with Russia’s Eurovision staging, it is to expect the unexpected.
Little Big’s music video reaches 10 million views
While the official music video of the song has only been online for less than 48 hours, it has already clocked up over 11.8 million views.
This makes it the second most popular Eurovision 2020 music video, after Diodato’s “Fai rumore”. The Italian entry has 20.5 million views, but it looks like “Uno” will be a strong challenger.
It’s worth keeping in mind, however, that Russia has the largest population of all competing Eurovision countries. As well, Little Big is a hugely popular band — both in Russia and abroad — so it’s understandable that their latest music video would prove popular.
What do you think? Should Little Big take this “Uno” staging to Eurovision? Are you doing the “Uno” dance”? Tell us your thoughts below!
The Russian Eurovision group are disgusting homophobes:

I am so shocked. I hope that wiwiblogs contact the band immediately and check this out.
Dirty competition has started. Do you know russian language to say this? Have you translate this video?!!! He said he has nothing against gays!!! Stop cheating and misleading!!!
His usual style is joking about EVERYTHING. Do not draw conclusions if you do not understand the nuances of Russian speech.
You have to know well the Russian sub-culture of 80-th to really enjoy and get nostalgic for that dream for “flashy life” in the West that basically was found to be a complete fake. That was a biggest crash in minds of Russians together with the collapse of the USSR. All little tiny details exactly describe that time (ooh this tossing “hot potatoes” from one hand to another!). Hence comes the soft irony you can feel here and such love from Rusians to this clip. So this song is totally about us, Russians in spite of the language, ADIDAS ads… Read more »
These esthetics are pure 70’s, not 80’s.
Due to the Iron Curtain, Western influence came to the USSR with some delay.
Why do they dance in front of the Adidas emblem, and backing vocalist in black wears pants and sneakers of this company? Thanks to the 1980 Olympics, the first Western brand was first sold in Russia: these were Adidas sporting goods.
Male lead singer is Homophobe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b46poyv4Y8
So, as the story goes, this song is apparently about flipping the bird. Go figure. The numbers correspond to the fingers you need to fold in order to, well, make the gesture. And who said there were no deep layers to this cringe fest??
Sorry, I’m writing through Google translator. I am from Russia and I am 44 years old. Believe me, the majority of the country’s population did not suspect the existence of this group before they were nominated for Eurovision. Therefore, to say that a lot of likes because the country is big is not correct.
Stop trying to find ways to undermine the song or the entry… I mean little big was a popular group before the contest, they had their hit-songs and before. So it seems so logical to make success again. And yes the Russians is the most populous country in Europe but the song has become a trend in so many countries around Europe (UK, Austria, Ukraine, Greece, Spain to name a few). And the ones where is not a you-tube trend (countries like Azerbaijan and Bulgaria) its because their national entry is already a trend there so there cannot be two… Read more »
Love UNO, stop hating just cuz its Russia and their government sucks.
Little Big are artists and stand with lgbt, women and equality.
They are a great example for Russians who oppose their own corrupt government.
Would be amazing to have a popular, lgbt supporting, russian politically challenging band win ESC .
Such a good example of democracy in Russia and a middle finger to their government
From 41 entrys I have Russia this year in 41 place, maybe not the only UNO. 🙂
love , love , LOVE THEM !
Russia is a medieval country, where people think their language and culture are superior to others.
That’s why they are sending an entry with Latino vibes in English and Spanish language 🙂 ok
How did you come up with this brilliant conclusion?
1 Million likes on Youtube while the boring song number one in the odds have only 36K. They like to loose money AHAHA.
Both the music video and the live performance are on Youtube Trending tab at least here in Finland.
The video was trending in 25 European countries.
Moonstar: In 2007 there were no juries voting in the final, so thats why Verka ended up second. If there had been juries, he would probably have ended in a lower placing.
In addition to that, Verka’s song was a masterpiece when compared with this year’s Russian entry.
What exceptions for Russia to have 7 members on Eurovision scene? Are EBU sometime raised maximum representer country members number on scene? 😀
I think they will remove the keyboard guy for Eurovision.
He is one of the main people of the group. I think that one of those back singers will be removed
It’s a big risk to remove one of the back singers, they are there on purpose for the double sing effect.
The keyboard guy is actually a member of the band, as is the backing singer on the left. The guy in the pink is from the hatters and ive never seen the woman backing singer before.
she is from the band Leningrad.
Unfortunately, the fat dancing guy will be dropped astern. That’s why everybody is so discontent.
He will never be dropped. He will only drop.
I love the Lithuanian entry, but cant stand this one.
16 million views in less than 2 days. This is the front runner now. The odds are slow to adjust but you’ll see probably sometime next week it will be #1. This is the favorite to win.
Odds are crazy. They went nuts 2 years ago for a chicken song making 1 million views without even a live and don’t react for something breaking all the records in 48h. Iceland with still more chances of winning, let me laugh.
No chance Iceland will beat this.
Today I’ve basically played Uno and the videoclip like so many times xd (along doing Elite marathon). It’s infectious and I’d not be mad if Little Big wins in this Esc. So much enjoyment
Jury won’t let this happen.
If the jury let Verka Serduchka reach second place, why wouldn’t they let this win? “Uno” is actually much more fun! 😉
The juries didn´t exist in 2007 lmfao
Actually, the juries did exist in 2007 but as a back up… they were used in Albania and Andorra. 😉
It was only televote in 2007…No jurys at all..
Oops… Good memory! 🙂
Tasteless rigged juries.
I’m gonna say that I love them and enjoy the song really much.
Direct to one of my potential favs to win Eurovision 🙂
The live vocals were much better than I was expecting. But this entry is definitely not my thing.
They are lip syncing. I wonder how the vocals will sound live. This song might win.
They are not lip singing
Are you sure? The voices sound computerized.
Maybe it feels like it to you because the backings vocalists are singing with them which can give the impression to hear “studio” voice. In addition to this, the two voices are very close to the main singers ones
The song is horrible but combined with the dance moves and retro style it’s quite enchanting. Top marks to Russia for fanning the dying embers of humour in this contest.
Still absolute garbage
Agree.. Its embarrassing ????
Totally garbage
Uno, dos, tres, cuatro, quince millones !
Absolutamente !
They were pretty awesome live, and surprisingly come off as quite charming. The song has an element of irresistible fun, even if it’s kitsch and trashy, it’s kind of making fun of bubblegum pop. This is the only song so far this year that has hit the radar of non-Eurovision friends (without me saying the usual, ‘here, what do you think of this!’). In a year like we’re having, this song seems set to do very well indeed with the televote. Something light-hearted for troubled times, at least. I can’t see it doing quite as well as with juries though,… Read more »
If I had to give an award to “most improved” national entry following last year it would probably be Germany. I feel like Ben Dolic could pull off a Michael Schulte result or better.
I still wish Loreen could enter with ‘Statements’.
I feel like it would be a contender to win this year. Anyone agree/disagree?
Could she win this year’s Melodifestivalen? IMHO Dotter would have had better chances at Eurovision than the Mamas, even if Malta came up with something completely different.
Win Eurovision? Yeah. Win Melodifestivalen? Neva.
I love Loreen, but “Statements” (I understand it has a message) was a bit boring, it lacked some originality… Don’t take me wrong, but you should move on, Jimmy, because life is not all about Eurovision and Loreen not winning with this song!! And in light of what’s happening today in the whole world, I would rather chose something light and fun as “Uno” than something depressing and dark as “Statments”. Be happy! 😉
everyone saying the juries will kill this but the juries loved entries like I’m a joker in 2012 so you never know luv
Why would you lie about something like this? The juries placed “I’m a Joker” last in 8ts semi-final.
Georgia got 8th with the juries in 2012 but last with the televote. Look up stuff before you start calling people liars. You look like a clown, sweetie.
God, I had forgotten about that awful song. I had to look up on YouTube to remember!…
I love this! So much fun! My top 3! Wouldn’t complain if it wins!
If this was sent by any Western European nation it would be classed as a joke entry and the broadcaster would be slated for not taking Eurovision seriously. As it’s Russia, this could probably end up winning. There’s going to be great songs missing out because of this awful song.
And what about Iceland being praised this year ? If it was Russia everybody would be saying how bad it is and amateurish.
Come on, don’t be mean, it’s a well written song!
This came together better live than I expected. Still a bit underwhelmed overall with this song though.
Belgium is better
They really are excellent live. I thought their voices were highly autotuned in the studio cut, but apparently not?
I get the same feeling as I had with DoReDos from Moldova 2018. A nice fun song that will make a great party in Ahoy. So why not.
> in Ahoy
as if Rotterdam 2020 is actually going to happen lol
Why do I feel like you’re enjoying this… Annoying
I believe that if European countries take proper measures the epidemic can be over by May.
Actually it is the other way around from what I hear. Now they are trying to spread the time that it effects every country so that the health care systems will be able to cope. They say it will be here longer because of the measures. But that is the whole purpose. When it is a paneåidemic it is too late to stop. Only a vaccin will stop it.
That was not live. It was a playback,
Listen closely.
Well done all. If ever a “fun” entry was going to win Eurovision, it should be this year. Some light relief when needed. Either Russia, Iceland or Azerbaijan. 🙂
Azerbaijan? What’s so fun about them? Just a good pop song, nothing exceptional
Oh because all pop songs recently have buddhist chant hooks, overtly lesbian overtones and an extremely catchy “la la” Chorus… if only! 😀
I am Russian, I love Little Big, but it won’t be fair if Russia wins this year. Maybe it would ve been fair in 2006, 2007, 2015 but not this year. With this said, I believe that if LB wins (low probability), the competition will go to the next level like in 2009 when it suddenly jumped to a new level of quality.
It could happen, yes.
I was thinking of Azerbaijan and history repeating, since they got their first win in a year with no clear winner. Although 2011 was atrocious and this year has lots of good songs.
Indeed. The 2011 scenario is a possibility to be repeated this year.
It’s so ridiculous when people claim it’s got so many views because Russia has the biggest population of the competing countries.
How many views have past Russian entries got prior to the contest?
This is everything, creativity, style, quality… so why should I call it a guilty pleasure, this is absolutely the winner this year.
If this was sent from Portugal, it would be a joke entry. Because it’s Ruasia, it will be a potential winner…!jesus!
IF the joke entries of Portugal were sent by Russia, they wouldn’t qualify either 🙂 The thing is that not the status of the entry is important, but the quality of the song/performance/marketing.
Yeah. Don’t understand either which Portuguese entry it is being compared with.
“Luta E Alegria”, perhaps? I don’t know.
Call me crazy, but this gets more enjoyable every time I hear it again. I just don’t want it to win.
And the hook is stuck on a loop in my head
I wouldn’t mind if this cracked the top ten (even though I don’t care for it), but if this won or even came close to winning i’d be so upset. This is definitely a joke entry and I don’t think it should place higher than the small handful of entries that actually tried and sent good songs of genuine quality with thought put into them. Oh yeah and in my opinion Europeans can’t complain about Americans and other foreigners seeing Eurovision is a joke and then turn around and act like this song is the best the year has to… Read more »
D for diversity. Someone likes it, someone hates but it is different and memorable. They add their unique color to the palette of this year’s contest.
To those who don’t believe this is live. There are thousands of videos on youtube with their concerts. The male additional backing singer is Yuri Muzichenko from the Hatters band, and the female additional backing singer is Florida from Leningrad band. Check them out too. All are excellent live performers.
One of the few instances where I’m glad the juries exist. They won’t let this win and thank god, honestly. Let someone who didn’t send a joke win.
I don’t understand, Is Eurovision a contest of sad ballads than and fun songs should not compete? don’t you have enough of sad and serious in your life? I always thought that Eurovision is about a quality music, new talents from different countries we might not hear about otherwise, songs that catches your attention be that a ballad, a death metal, unusual singers like Island last year or Konchita or a fun song like the one sang by Rybak. This is a style of this group, isn’t it prejudice to disregard it just because you does’t like their style?
Me gusta – vamos a bailar Uno.
8/10
The desperate comments AHAH. 13M views in less than 2 days, your fave could never.
This is so winning <3
You wish…. remember the views of “soldi”and “Arcade”?? and what about Gabbani vs Salvador Sobral? Views say nothing, the only thing that counts is the performance on May 16……
the juries would never
Let’s be fair, the vast majority of the views came from the Russian viewers. Which is fine, it’s great that the nation supports their act. However, I find the number of “Think About Things” and “On Fire”‘s views much more impressive, as those videos were watched by the equivalent of respectively 7 populations of Iceland and one and a half of Lithuania’s one.
Although Russia might have the most popular 2020 video right now, I am more impressed with Lithuania’s success on the Eurovision channel. Earning 4.5 million views in five weeks when some countries are only finally catching to reach 1 million view count by now is still quite an accomplishment for a country like Lithuania, and it’s still growing a lot.
If KEiiNO couldn’t win with a song that is much much better than this one despite topping the televote, than Little Big isn’t winning either. Please be realistic.
Keiino had a better, but less epic song, actually. This screams “viral”
Just because something is viral doesn’t mean it’s good
Just because something is good, doesn’t mean it can win. Switzerland is pure gold in musical aspect, but it is not going to win 🙁
Buranovskiye Babushki went extremely viral back in 2012 with much more views than any other video although it was still early days for YouTube back then. They ended up 11th with the jury and as a result 2nd overall, with a song that was much more jury-friendly than this one. This will suffer a similar fate to Poland 2014 – top 5 in televoting, bottom 5 with juries.
P.S. Russian videos always have so many views – it’s a country with a population of almost 150 million people after all.
And most of those views are coming from Russia.
Yeah, but it was trending #8 in Spain, #15 in France, #10 in Germany, #25 in the Uk, #14 in Finland, #1 in Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia etc. So the view are not only coming from Russia. Has there been any other video trending on 25 European countries?
There are HUGE Russian diasporas in those countries. Oh course it’s trending there
There’s greater Polish diaspora in the UK. Why the Polish song wasn’t on trend in the UK? Why is Russia trending in Norway (#17), but Sweden, Denmark, Finland weren’t trending there (tell me about huge Russian diaspora in Norway).
Good question, I think that Russians who live in Western countries take Eurovision very seriously. I know that Poland has a big diaspora as well but imo they don’t get that much diaspora points. For example, the Polish people are the largrst ethnic minority in the UK but there’s not a single year when the UK gives more televote points to Poland than Lithuania. Looks like Polish diaspora just isn’t as active as Lithuanians or Russians. Btw, now very many Polish people are returning to Poland because of Brexit so there’s much less Polish people in the UK now, perhaps… Read more »
Slick it is (credit where credit’s due)! But will it get my vote? No, no, no! Let’s keep the music real and not fall into a new trap like in 2018!
You can’t simultaneously complain that countries don’t send their biggest acts to ESC and then when they do — crap all over their songs. Additionally, the rumors among the Russian ESC fandom is that because Channel 1 produced the video and Vecherniy Urgant airs on it, that Little Big had to keep the performance fairly tame for the Russian market, but once they get to Rotterdam all bets are off on how suggestive their performance can get. It wouldn’t surprise me if they pull something out of the hat like this. The lyrics of “Come to Daddy” are very suggestive… Read more »
My ears, her voice is Teribble. Ge looks evel. And The song its stupid.
If you need some English lessons, hit me up.
While the performance is clever and on point with the video but I am still not falling for the sudden hype around “Uno” cause I expected something edgy and risky from Little Big knowing their discography and it’s a shame they had to go down the path of the common western perspective that Eurovision is seen as a glossy camp joke event, sure it’s a fun song but doesn’t exactly mean it’s good. Juries will trash Russia for sure regardless how sell it does on televoting, same is likely to apply for Iceland & Lithuania and boy I better brace… Read more »
It is too good to be true or really live, perhaps a pre-recorded live version they’re lip synching to.
Its Russia we are talking about haha. They say live but it dont have to be then. Its Russia. For them playback is live
They are actually good live. You can check out their live concerts
This is definitely my guilty pleasure 🙂
People can say whatever they want. Its not the best song this year. Russia is kind of a weird country. They Make fun of what they want but when some gay stuff come up they want to withdraw but they love Philip Kirkorovs flamboyant style. they hid one handicaped girl in a volcano and erased her body in the official video. Is that normal behavior to you?
For someone who probably has never been to Russia you sure know a lot about it.
All that things happpened. So you are okey with all of them?
For instance, no sane person here likes Kirkorov, I assure you.
I do. Russia are very anti gay so its kind weird they love him. He is not very typical russian in style or attitude. So i dont get Russia. They hated when Sweden had drunk bears in our melfest and had a sketch about russia but when they won they had bears in a sketch of their own… haha. Whats the difference?
sorry but your knowledge about Russia is very stereotype-based and is rather similar to what mainstream media (aka propaganda machines) communicate, Very far from reality.
I SEE
but what did you feel when Russia hid Julia in a volcano? or when they did not film her body, just her head in the official video? it was sad to me
We all know that Julia isn’t a strong vocalist. We followed her in a show similar to X Factor and fell in love with her personality. She immediately became a symbol of courage of disabled people. She motivated the community of disabled people and many people (not eurofans) really wanted her to fulfill her dream and sing on the stage of Eurovision. In 2017, as you may remember, Russia’s participation was questionable. The Channel One decided to send her as she could not be classified as “a person threatening the territorial integrity of Ukraine” since this definition is given in… Read more »
Russia is not anti-gay. The government’s agenda is. It’s a diversion in attempt to antagonize “traditional values” with those of the collective West so that common folk would think that current regime is its sole savior against the fictional western moral degradation. In reality, this conflict simply doesn’t exist. We have lots of gay celebrities (also, the speaker of the Parliament is a closeted gay person) , drag queens were kinda big in the 90’s and Verka gained her popularity in Russia in the first place. Moscow, St. Petersburg and N. Novgorod are just as European as it gets.
I like Philipp Kirkorov, we need a British Philipp Kirkorov. And I’ve been going to Russia (then the USSR) since the 80s. Paratrooper’s day at Gorky Park is very weird, but I liked it.
Moscow is nice in August, isn’t it?
Lads in uniforms and wet tee-shirts all over the place on August 2
WHY DO I LIKE IT SO MUCHHH
It’s playback and awful
