Voting for this year’s ESC 250 — the annual countdown of fans’ favourite Eurovision songs — began on Monday 8th November. Despite there being literally hundreds of songs to choose from, Sweden’s Loreen has topped the rankings every year since 2012 with “Euphoria”.
But could her dominance be about to end? Could a tenth consecutive ESC 250 victory slip through Loreen’s fingers?
Who will win ESC 250 2021?
Fans are already speculating that Eurovision 2021 champs Måneskin could be the ones to finally dethrone the queen. Following their victory with “Zitti e buoni” in Rotterdam last May, the Italian foursome quickly became global stars. They climbed the charts across the world, made TV appearances throughout Europe and the US and received multiple award show nominations.
Could ESC 250 glory cap off what’s been an excellent year for the rock group? Their victory is not a foregone conclusion. After all, over the past nine years, “Euphoria” has held off stiff competition from heavy-hitters like Duncan Laurence’s “Arcade” and Eleni Foureira’s “Fuego”.
We also have to consider who will be voting in the poll. Typically, the voters are year-round Eurovision fans. How many of these will switch from dark dance-pop to glam rock? And how many Måneskin fans will discover and vote in the poll? One important factor is that everyone has to vote for their top ten songs. So those who are voting purely to support “Zitte e buoni” may end up giving Loreen some points regardless.
We won’t know the final result until the last few moments of 2021. But it’s sure to be the most exciting countdown in years.
How to vote in ESC 250 2021
The 2021 edition of ESC 250 is being organised by Songfestival.be.
To vote, you need to register with either a Facebook, Google or Twitter account. After logging in, you will be presented with every Eurovision song since 1956, including the entries from the cancelled 2020 contest. Using drag and drop functionality, you pick a top ten using Eurovision’s iconic 12 point system. You can only vote once per account. Vote here.
The results of the poll will be revealed throughout New Year’s Eve, 31 December, on the online radio station ESC Radio, beginning at 11:00 CET.
What is your ranking? Who do you think will win? Could any other songs win? Let us know below.
Ah yeah, I’m in the same situation as you, I have about 30 songs or so that I see worthy of including in my top 10. Not including those from national finals (but if I’d count those I would consider Norssken as well).
Euphoria indeed is one of the best songs ever made, not just Eurovision songs, but I listened to it so much that it is kind of overplayed.
My top 10:
1. Jamala – 1944
2. Maneskin – Zitti e Buoni
3. Tamara Todevska – Proud
4. maNga – We Could Be The Same
5. Elina Nechayeva – La Forza
6. Hooverphonic – The Wrong Place
7. Lena – Taken By A Stranger
8. Alyosha – Sweet People
9. Gjon’s Tears – Rependez-moi
10. Salvador Sobral – Amar Pelos Dois
Armenia and Georgia missing, two of my favourite Eurovision-countries. But yeah, choices.
I prefer Zitti e buoni, but I guess Euphoria will win again.
My 12 point in the ESC 250 went to a song that is more esoteric but beautiful and touching nonetheless – Alle mine tankar (Norway 1993)
Voted for:
I did not give votes to either Loreen or Maneskin. In fact, only one song from the 2020s appears on my top 10 this year, and it’s “Tout l’univers”. I also have 2 songs from the 2010s (“Arcade” and “J’ai cherché”), 1 from the 2000s (“Everyway That I Can”), 1 from the 90s (“Love Shine A Light”), 1 from the 80s (“Hold Me Now”), 2 from the 70s (“Waterloo” and “Save Your Kisses For Me”), 1 from the 60s (“Non ho l’età”) and 1 from the 50s (“Nel blu dipinto di blu”). I know I have quite a few winners… Read more »
If Maneskin wins this , it will be thanks to their international fans(not eurovision viewers , their own fans) Their fan clubs are sharing that poll all the time.
If only votes of Eurovision viewers were counted , we know who would win this
Most overrated song from Italy. Realistically at least 4 others were better than Maneskin this year. I think people should rate songs not looks. But that will never happen ofc.
You should have addef: In My Opinion.
My list (already voted for it on the site):
10. Dihaj – Skeletons
9. Salvador Sobral – Amar Pelos Dois
8. Marija Serifovic – Molitva
7. Eimmear Quinn – The Voice
6. Conan Osiris – Telemoveis
5. Claudia Pascoal – O jardim
4. Mahmood – Soldi
3. The Common Linnets – Calm after the storm
2. Edyta Gorniak – To nje ja!
1. Verka Serduchka – Dancing Lasha Tumbae
Honourable mentions: Rocknroll Kids; City Lights; Shum; Eastern European Funk; Vyzlat Niar(hope, I wrote it correctly); Is it true?;
I love your picks off the best songs
No, even without diacriticals (wiwi site changes them to question marks) it’s still “Viszlat Nyar”.
my top 25 + 2019 joker from this century. (without total ranking in chronologic order) 🙂
serbia & montenegro 2004

ukraine,italy,latvia 2021
it seems i have forgotten sweden 2010 & montenegro 2013. 🙂
My winner: Nije Ljubav Stvar (Serbia 2012)
I’m rooting for Måneskin. I think Euphoria is overplayed.
I love Euphoria – and I feel Italy has had better recent entries, but I think it’s time for a change
Have you seen that Netta released her new song also in an acapella version in cooperation with a choir? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0WpoQrOF20
For me someone has forgot about one of the best songs “To nie ja” Edyta Górniak Poland!
How am I supposed to only vote for 10 songs? Sooo many more deserve to be on the list… it ends up feeling kind of random who does and does not get any points.
Also, I find it near impossible to rate old AND new songs by the same standard… whatever standard that is.
Don’t take it too seriously, just vote for whatever ten pop into your head first. I might vote for twentieth century songs only, they deserve to be remembered. That Serhat was higher than Gigliola Cinquetti is just… wrong.
Italy 1983, 1964, Ireland 1993, Netherlands 1998, Norway 1995, Spain 1995, France 1994, Iceland 1997, Monaco 1967, Sweden 1974.
I meant Italy 1984, not 1983. Franceo Battiato and Alice.
I meant Franco, not Franceo.
I mean… I don’t and I did just end up voting for 10 songs that are special to me and I listen to a lot right now.
But it does make you realize just how much good stuff there is and I wish I could pass my appreciation on to ALL the other fantastic songs that I like. A lot of artists deserve that recognition.
Vote again next year with a different ten.
Sidenote… Serhat should not be on that list at all, but I guess some people really like him.
I tried to be honest with myself and went with what I love to listen to right now. So a mixture of emotional ballads and party songs!
I don’t care for either of them, my 12 points go to Nina Kraljic as usual.
My personal list (it took me long to figure it out and I will officially vote later today) :
12 points: Italy 2021
10 points: Italy 2018
8 points: Italy 2019
7 points: Italy 2017
6 points: Finland 2021
5 points: Norway 2019
4 points: Georgia 2016
3 points: Turkey 2010
2 points: Sweden 2012
1 point: Sweden 2015
Yes I love Italian entries and yes I am a fan of rock entries. Also yes I prefer modern ESC entries to older ones (by modern I mean after 2009)
Georgia 2016 was ahead of its time (and also behind since it was essentially a 90s Britpop song).
hungary 2011 and estonia 2017 <3 taste ! both in my all time top 10
My 12 is different but i would be happy no matter which of these two wins.
Previous years i didn’t think any other song can beat ”Euphoria” but this year i have doubt because Maneskin could do that.
Also this year’s ”Shum” and ”Voila” will be very very high without a doubt
When I did my votes and posted it as an insta story whereby I tagged the acts I included (and honourable mentions), Loreen, Athena Manoukian (who also reposted and previously reposted a pair of drawings I did of my stage concept for Chains On You back in May), Destiny (2021) and Joci Papai (2017) saw my Insta story. I also tagged Netta, Foureira, Salvador, Maneskin, Manizha and Conchita as members of my top 10, though they probably were too busy. I was upset Netta and Athena didn’t fare well in last year’s and I hope they fare better now. Emmellie,… Read more »
Yes , Athena is a very kind girl she cares about fans and reply their messages with kindness. The girl is so natural i feel that
Last year I also posted my top 10 on insta story tagging all the artists, and Maria Elena Kyriakou was the only one who has reacted with a heart to it <3 Some of the other tagged artists saw the story I think, but unfortunately I can't recall who exactly were that. I probably won't post again this year as my top hasn't changed. (don't get me wrong, I don't mean 2021 was weak or smth, in fact, it was the greatest year, it's just that for my top 10 of all-time I select only those songs whose message had… Read more »
Besides Loreen the best Eurovision is Conchita Wurst
No, not even in it’s own year.
Calm After the Storm should have won that year
Nope both were forgotten pretty soon after ESC unlike Maneskin
Maneskin is very pushed by their label. I don’t think they’re the worse ESC winner, but their fame has nothing to do with the content’s quality.
For me Rise Like A Phoenix is literally the best Eurovision winning song ever. It was a really important and relatable song to me back then. And I still get chills from that performance.
I don’t think so, but it is the closest we are going to be in years. None of them are in my top 10 though.
1 Euphoria 2 Fuego 3 Arcade 4 Zitti e buoni 5 Soldi
how about no Euphoria
It’s been 10 years since Daria Kinzer participated in Eurovision. We should give her the recognition she deserves and vote her into the top 100 <3
Maybe Duncan gained popularity with Arcade going viral no? I wish thob
yes he did but then did he give critic to Elena which the fandom did not like
I know my vote won’t change anything but I gave my 12 to Israel 2013. I still find it hard to believe how that song didn’t even qualify
I didn’t like Israel 2013 at all. Too ordinary. But Israel 2012 one of the best ever
2012 was something different (and I also remember seeing a Birmingham Limmud lecture from Israel’s Than-HOD in 2019 which discussed how they were kept safe “like a dolls’ house” in their words, in Baku, amongst other things – he also mentioned Mahmood had far more success than Duncan in a remark which is a bit dated now) and with 2013, I miss them doing Hebrew, but it’s the Doron Medali stuff (Golden Boy, Toy) that is the best. Toy is a fantastic winner and deserves to fare better here.
roodi stop talking challenge. do that challenge
Ok I take the challenge
My personal vote goes to Måneskin. I live in 2021.
I know the jesc is not very beloved here but it has many fans and more and more each years so it wouldn’t be out of place to do for example the jesc50 or jesc100 , I mean since 2003 there already have been 278 competing songs and there will be 297 counting the 2021’s entries, so there’s plenty to do and to choose. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to organize this during christmas time for the kids and to have after the esc250 during the end of the year festivities as usual.
In such a case my vote would definitely go to one of Armenia’s songs. Most likely L.E.V.O.N or Mama. The former was ESC-ready. If I had randomly heard it somewhere on the radio, never in my life I could have guessed it’s from jESC.
I’m sure that Euphoria will win and Fuego will be 2nd. Måneskin can be third at best.
Maneskin fanlub shared the link to vote in their twitter page their fandom is huge
TIX <3 <3
How do you vote?
Use the link of this article and after it’s easy.
For me the winner should be Jamala – 1944
Oy Euphoria. Still haven’t heard better song
For me, it rlly can be possible. Many people love it, recency bias still exists and Måneskin have a huge fan base even outside Eurovision. It can totally win and tbf, it’s time for something different no matter how iconic Euphoria is.
My votes:
12: Portugal 2018
10: Finland 2017
8: Belgium 2018
7: Georgia 2011
6: Georgia 2016
5: Estonia 2009
4: Belgium 2021
3: France 2009
2: France 2021
1: Luxemburg 1965
Recency bias is in this top as well! 🙂
then you should vote for maneskin and not give any points to Loreen
Guy I don’t think you’re doing good publicity for Maneskin here, it’s rather pretty unproductive and totally useless.
BARBARA PRAVI FOR THE WINNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
She has not a chance it is between Maneskin and Euphoria
She won’t win unfortunately as for Shum unfortunately too but both have big chances to be in the top 10 as they got many televote points this year, and after all even to be in the top 20 or even 30 is already a great achievement in this ranking seeing the ocean of songs in which you choose.
Euphoria was a deserving winner in 2012, but I think it aged poorly. Also without the staging to go with it, it loses all of its “edginess”. It reminds me more and more of these tacky eurodance songs from the 90s (and not the good ones), it sounds increasingly dated.
You should listen to Floor Jansen’s more rocky version of Euphoria.
SHUM FOR THE WIN
Hell yeah
I sure hope so, Euphoria is nowhere near good enough to justify being the most popular Eurovision song for this long, give it up already and move on.
exactly
For me personally Euphoria is more timeless and iconic, Euphoria represents more my conception of Eurovision, when I think about Eurovision I think instantly about Euphoria, I have images of Loreen’s perf in my mind and since 2012 none of the others winners have managed to replace that. Maybe in the future but for now no.
I hope the top 5 of this esc year will be successful in esc250 because they deserve it.
Ok I’ve voted, my 12 pts goes to… Norway 2008, my absolute favourite of all time, but I gave also points to Loreen, Barbara and Manizha among others.
yikes not to Maneskin
I’ve not revealed all my votes so who knows…
thanks for the reminder, i forgot to vote last year ^^
i honestly don’t care much about who wins, i’d rather know the trolls who made the cut 😀
I just want Loreen to with so she has a full 10 years, that’s literally it.
No thank you support her flop career
I love love Loreen
Okay then why do you not support her flop career
Dude is there something wrong with you? Just because she isn’t big as maneskin or previous winner, doesn’t mean her career is a flop. She has still amazing songs that I listen to. Everyone knows her in Sweden. So I don’t see her as a flop. I think you have no idea what a successful career is. Cause if you think its all about views on youtube then you are 100% incorrect.
I hate to be that guy, but going on Melfest is a pretty good sign your career isn’t going very well (or, if you’re old enough, just a fun time). Molly Sanden went to Melfest a few times, only had her Melfest songs chart, but then after 2017, she had several top 10 hits and hasn’t looked back. For Loreen, she hasn’t had a charting song since “Statements” and even before then, she’s only had 1 top 40 song not linked to Melfest. For how big Euphoria was in 2012, her career has been underwhelming since. I’m not judging YouTube… Read more »
Listen to recent interviews with her and she will speak about how commercialism almost took her, but she instead turned to art. How making what she wants to do is most important to her. She participated with statements because she had a message to deliver. Not in order to win. And I think she succeeded in that.
I would love literally anything else to win – but it won’t
It will Maneskin official twitter fannacount shared the link where you could vote Maneskin has a bug fanbase so they will definetly win
I really love both, but for me Euphoria is more iconic… so, between both of them, my vote would be Loreen, but I am not going to both of none of them
vote for queen Natalia Gordienko
Euphoria is the better track so it should win over ZeB
Euphoria aka Loreen only hit
