So curious with Loreen song since Cazzi is one of the composer

Big mistake. Last time Loreen performed last, it was a curse for her.

I hope they are not expecting a redux of “Euphoria”. I would rather she stay the alternative route. I haven’t heard a piece of the song yet (assuming they made samples of all the songs public), but I hope it is reminiscent of “’71 Charger”. The album Ride was definitely overlooked.

So, let’s look, historically, which heat the winner has been in (since 2002, when Melodifestivalen started with these heats).

9 times the winner has been in heat 4, and 4 times for each of the other heats.
11 times the winner has been last in the running order in their heat.
No one who has been 2nd or 4th in the running order in their heat has ever won Melodifestivalen, and only 1 who has been 3rd in the running order.

Going by titles alone, Rhytm of My Show is a perfect opener.
As for predictions, this tells nothing since songs we think are favourites ends up not being so. And yes, I do not believe Loreen will win. I might if I hear the song…

At least there’s a really good chance this year of a Melodifestivalen winner written by a Jimmy.

I’ll be honest, I’ll wait until the Song snippets are out to truly make a prediction of who is going straight to the final, who’s going to the semifinal, and who’s out on the night. I know people think they know what’s going to happen because a president and name recognition, but anything can happen. A big name could bring a disappointing song, and an unknown could have a whizbang number. Wait and see.

I wouldn’t say excited, but there are a few that do pique my interest. Loreen of course, to see if she could actually do the double, but we all remembered what happened the last time she came back, so anything could happen. Wiktoria is another name because I have a selfish desire to see another Disney dubber at Eurovision (she is the Swedish voice of Moana, or should I say Vaiana). I remembered Marcus & Martinus as the Norwegian spokespersons in 2017, but I’m surprised they’re competing for Sweden, not their home country. We usually get eurovision artists acting as… Read more »

A great list. It’s nice that there are so many new and returning artists for people to get excited about this year. I didn’t know that about Wiktoria, sweet detail.

Mariette and Loreen would be top of the list for me.

There are many, many Eurovision artists who have dubbed for Disney and other animation studio films. There are quite a few videos that try to compile as many of these artists as possible but it’s always incomplete because either artists are overworked or new movies come out. When you’ve been part of the Disney dubbing YouTube community as I was, it was always fascinating to see the faces behind the international voices Of countless Disney and other animated characters. It was probably my first brush with Eurovision before I got into it.

Agree. That was what happened last year. Nobody knew about Cornelia, no name recognition (sure she had competed before, but in a girl band where no one knew the individual names). There were 3 previous Melodifestivalen winners in the line up, a lot of other wellknown people who had competed before, and someone like Omar Rudberg who had a lot of fame from “Young Royals”, so I don’t think many, just looking at the line up would ever had imagine that Cornelia would win. Then she sang. And it was clear, without any doubt (at least for me) she was… Read more »

Yes, exactly. Name recognition means almost nothing to me because I don’t recognize most names that show up in the national finals unless it’s somebody that either went to eurovision before or they are a past national final participant. I really need the songs to make a proper judgment. That’s why I don’t really have an opinion on melfest until they start releasing the songs.

Carola and Charlotte Perrelli closed the heats on their first return after victory, but not on their second. Loreen gets to do it twice, which is a first. I don’t know if that means something. Probably not.

Loreen, JHF and the twins getting the 7th were predictable af. But Theoz? Thought he’d be a 3rd or 4th honestly.

Also, is Loreen the first person to perform in the pimpest of pimp spot (aka the 28th act) two times? Iconic

Nevertheless, I hope we win Eurovision this year. Won’t happen but would be nice to tie with Ireland

No need to ask who SVT want to win then, eh? I have never been a fan of the production team deciding the running order in national heats or in the ESC – there’s ALWAYS gonna be an advantage to certain acts and I just find it really unfair. I would love to see the random draw come back – I used to get so excited about it back in the day. As for the semis, I loved it in the first few years when the presenters said “ the next country perform in position number ? on Saturday night”.… Read more »

Not understanding the hype of Loreen in Melfest this year especially when we haven’t heard the songs yet.
Sure she’s iconic, gave Eurovision one of its best ever winners, but…

We need to bare in mind that she has participated in Melfest 3 times previously and only has one victory. Odds aren’t in her favor but looking forward to hearing her song

We also need to bare in mind that last time around she was still miles ahead of that annoying treadmill song they sent and deserved to win the selection again instead.

I agree she should have won with “Statements” I actually still listen to that…but what I’m saying is, just because she’s in the mix, doesn’t necessarily mean she’ll be picked.
She’s entered awesome tracks everytime she’s taken part, but she has only won once.

“she has participated in Melfest 3 times previously and only has one victory.”. “Only one victory”… Is there anyone else I’m not aware of in this year’s Melodifestivalen that has more..? Like LouLou Lamotte has also “only” one victory, together with the Mamas. Victor Crone is also competing for the third time and ended up at 9th in the final at best. Jon Henrik is competing for the 4th time, getting 2nd place at best. Wiktoria is also competing for the 4th time ending up 4th place as best. Nordman will compete for the 3rd time, getting 6th place at… Read more »

sixth time? I think this is Mariette’s fifth appearance because she competed in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2020. Unless she was a backing singer for somebody else in the past before her first solo effort.

I have predicted correctly the RO of Fjallgren, Loreen, Wiktoria, Theoz, Maria Sur, Eva’s, Smash Into Pieces, Axel, Marcus and Martinus, Paul Rey, Eden, Uje, Victor and Tone

Maybe i did not expect Kiana to open the Heat 4 or Loulou to get a position 2, but I think it will be very interesting Melo + FINALLY without Andra Chansen ‘ duels – Just with Normal Semi at the end – Its more fair and right I guess

Based of the vibes: I think – Fjallgreen/Maria Sur/ Tone/ Wiktoria/ Marcus&Martinus/ Paul Rey/ Loreen will be challenging for a victory

This pretty much, alongside all the hype in the fandom and energy elsewhere, garuntees Loreen will be in the final and POSSIBLY will win? But we’ll have to see the songs and performances. At the end of the day, we could still get a shock victory if Loreen is not up to scratch. I dont think anything will top her original song, like even if it’s her second song, it won’t make as much of an impact. With Loreen, we think of big things and hopes for her, that’s why her song MAY be a let down for some. Don’t… Read more »

Looking forward to Loreen’s and Jon Henrik’s songs. If the running order is anything to judge from (which of course is not always the case) , they might both have great songs since they are closing their heats.
