Do you hear the distant sound of schlager? We do and we are super excited. That’s because today some of Sweden’s most beloved Eurovision and Melodifestivalen stars begin their two-month tour across more than 20 cities in Sweden as part of this year’s Diggiloo tour. Staged since 2003, it’s an outdoor summertime show where fab Swedish artists perform songs with a live band. This year’s edition includes superstars like Helena Paparizou, Charlotte Perrelli, Jessica Andersson, Martin Stenmarck, Magnus Carlsson and Andreas Johnson. It all comes to an end on August 15 in Stockholm.
Expect mind-blowing collaborations that take you from Europe to America, and from the 1970s to today. ABBA, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars — your Melfest stars are gonna cover it all. At times it comes off as a little dated and hokey — but that’s part of the fun!

HELENA SHOWS THE GIRLS ATHENS
The show has been a long time coming. During the Easter holidays Charlotte Perrelli, Martin Stenmarck, Mollie Linden and Hanna Hedlund paid a visit to Helena Paparizou in Athens. There, the Eurovision 2005 winner guided the Swedish artists through the busy streets of Monastiraki, Thissio, Plaka and Pireaus. They had also some Greek wine, and learned about traditional music. Naturally we are now dreaming of an all-star collaboration — and with a bouzouki!
The stars have been having a lot of fun. Here’s Charlotte with Jessica (and a lot of flowers):
And here’s Magnus giving us a bit of stretch…

Love Helena!! <3
My favorite singer….
Schlager … an awful attempt to recreate a parody of ABBA’s music could only be celebrated by these people who have proven they have a lot more and better to offer … anyway …
Ehhh, Sweden 😀
The biggest star of Greece <3 I adore her voice & her special singing <3 Really pity that Helena did not pursue her dream 4 a international european career… Broken dream to pieces…Maybe its not late 4 her to still make this GreAtY dream.. I want her to represent us Greece again in the Vision.. If she finds her right winning material song she can WIN again! <3 I will never 4get how i felt & the GreAtY memories i had back in 2005 when she brought us at last the victory in EuroVision.. <3 Who knows when Greece will… Read more »

Helena missed the chance for a European career back in 2005 and 2006. Mambo was getting airplay but she never promoted it in Europe.
I love her latest album and the album Game of Love.
Anyway, lucky Swedish fans, you'll get to see so many melodi singers!
Good that Helena is back at her swedish roots. She is Swedish – Greek afterall…
and born in sweden…
only natural that she finally realise that sweden has much more to offer for a singer than poor greece.
