Earlier this week Georgian Public Broadcaster GPB announced the five lucky acts who will participate in the national final on January 14. They are: Nina Sublatti, Misha Sulukhia, Eteri Beriashvili, Niutone Band and Edward Meison. GPB will reveal all five of their competing songs on December 31. Ahead of that momentous announcement, we’ll introduce you to each of the acts and give you more of a flavor for their music. Next up is Edvard Meison.

Edvard Meison 1One thing is already certain: Edvard will turn up at the national final with a visually stimulating entry. The twenty-five- year-old is a music video director and a film maker, so he has a good sense of telling a story on stage. He’s previously worked in clubs in Kazakhstan — get the party started! — and has a recording studio where he makes music.

You may recognize Edvard, as he took part in the national selection in 2012 as “Eddie” with the dance song “Hey You”. The club anthem, which you can listen to below, sounds very current in 2014, suggesting he may once again go for something modern and dancey.

Edvard will compete in the 2015 selection with a song called “We are Free.” He composed the song himself, and Tako Vadachkoria wrote the lyrics. His backing vocalists will include Tako Ananikiani,Tornike Metskhvarishvil and Sofia Sazhinyan.

And here is one of his own songs, featuring Michael Goldman.

What do you think about him? Does he have the voice and style to sing for Georgia at Eurovision?

I just checked his song for the 2012 National Final and the one featuring Michael Goldman and I loved them both. I’m totally into dance music, so I like his style. Sadly, it isn’t a ESC/jury-friendly music genre. I would be really happy if he ends up winning the Georgian preselection. There is always a chance 🙂

PS: I find him hella hot!
