It was a long day (and night) in Latvia, but by the end of it we had heard some amazing performances from this year’s Eurovision 2015 contenders. Yes, we are pleased to report that the Eurovision PreParty Riga 2015 was a big succes with eight Eurovision 2015 acts, four Eurovision legends, and a whole lot of screaming fans. OGAE Latvia have upped their game yet again, and it’s nice to see them creating a preview show in the Baltics that will, no doubt, continue to attract interest from the rest of Europe. wiwibloggers Angus and Padraig held their cameras up high for Instagram and wiwi.tv, and we can now share with you every live performance and interviews with most of the stars. We’re pulling out a few below, and also linking our playlist at the bottom where you can watch all of them.

Live Performance: Nina Sublatti — “Warrior” (Georgia)

Let there be no doubt: This warrior is here to slay! Nina Sublatti performed the revamped version of her song and she owned every single note. This jewel from Georgia exuded confidence and Gothic rocker chick edge. She is in command of her look, her voice, and her song. YASSS!

Live Performance: Elnur Huseynov — “Hour of the Wolf”

In a year of screeching women, Elnur Huseynov shows that men can get emotional too. He won The Voice of Turkey for a reason, and he proved it again tonight with stellar vocals. “Hour of the Wolf” fits his voice so, so well. After this performance a lot of fans were whispering — okay, shouting — that he’s a real contender for the crown.

Live Performance: Mélanie René — “Time to Shine”

No more muckin’ around, y’all! Mélanie proved once again that you cannot fault her vocals. She seems even more confident than at the Swiss national selection and added some sassy head bobs to her performance.

Live Performance: Monika Linkyte — “This Time”

She’s a lady doin’ it for herself! That’s right: Vaidas had to perform in a play on Friday evening, so Monika had to brave the stage alone. But guess what? She totally worked it. When she says round-and-round-and-round you can tell she knows what it’s like to be in love. It’s dizzying and delightful. PS: Love that dress.

Live Performance: Aminata Savadogo — “Love Injected”

And of course we have to mention Latvia’s homegirl Aminata Savadogo. She’s ditched the screechy backing vocalists from Supernova and taken a step away from the Glamazonian look she went for in her national selection. She looked ravishing in black and was as mellow and relaxed as ever. Her voice speaks for itself — and we love the banter!

I think Aminata is one of the rare artists that actually sound better in live than in studio version
