Antonio José first made his name as the Spanish representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2005, where he finished second. Last night he went one better with his flamenco voice to win La Voz (The Voice of Spain).
The young singer won in front of an audience of almost four million viewers. Coached by Spanish singer star Antonio Orozco, José performed “Aprendiz” by Malú as his winning song in the final. He also joined his fellow finalists in a collaboration with boy band Auryn, well known for their attempt at representing Spain in 2011.
Antonio certainly has grown into a fine young man (just check out his Instagram), but that flamenco passion in his voice was already there when he represented Spain at JESC. In Hasselt, he seriously impressed everyone and narrowly missed out on giving Spain back-to-back victories with “Te Traigo Flores” (I Bring You Flowers).

With his victory on The Voice, Antonio will be offered a contract with one of Spain’s major labels and will record an album. Not only that, but with his Junior Eurovision past, the Andalusian singer will likely become one of the fan favourites to represent Spain at Eurovision next year. Would you like to see Antonio in Sweden? Let us know below!
Yes, yes aaaaaand YES!!! I would LOVE to see him in Sweden. ‘Te Traigo Flores’ is one of my favourite Junior entries ever. Spain in general were so good when they participated.
Is Antonio just the second JESC competitor to win The Voice? I know plenty of them have participated, and that Lisa, Amy and Shelley won as O’G3NE in The Netherlands (they are incredible) but I can’t remember if any more have won it. Either way, JESC represent!
He’ll probably go to Sweden, the opportunity is just too perfect.
He is hot hunk <3
The Junior Vision of 2005 was my first live watched from teleVision..
I have GreAtY vivid beautiful memories from that JESC <3
Todo depende de RTVE.
Wonder if he will “Do an Elnur” and go to Sweden next year for Spain.
Time will tell
Wow what an amazing song! But the winner that year belarus was waaaaay better!!
