The songs for the ten acts competing in Austria‘s national final Wer singt für Österreich have now been released. But only one of these will make it to Stockholm where they will have the task of following Conchita’s victory… or at least doing better than the Makemakes’ nil points.

The winner will be decided at the grand final in just over three weeks time on 12 February. Tickets are now on sale for the final, and also the final dress rehearsal, with the option of a backstage tour.

But right now you can vote in our poll. After listening to all of the entries be sure to vote. You can vote for as many acts as you like, but you can only submit your votes ONE time, so make it count.

> Pieces in a Puzzle > best selection for Austria for this Competition, cool attitude, quite good looking guy, lots of girls will vote for him I reckon, if they got a good show too they have a good chance to win the austrian final > Vincent, sorry no, Bieber sound and look a like style > Wagner, brrr too dark for me > Elly, well verse ok but don`t like the Chorus line, doesn`t catch me at all > Zoe, don`t like it sorry, French song too flat for me, dreamy, no chance in Sweden I think > Lia… Read more »

Please, let it be Zoe this time! Charming and poetic French song would stood out so much! If Austria picks Zoe and the song stays in French that would be fantastic!

It has to be Zoë.

Only one that has a remote chance to qualify is Elly. Loin d’ici is overrated.

Zoe’s song is the only one I listened to all the way. The rest were forgettable.

I don’t like Zoë’s song like at all. It’s so repetitive and weird.
I’d prefer Lizza or Elly.

Mon chanson préférée est “Loin d’ici” par Zoe. Les autres: comme-ci comme ca.
However, I’m pretty sure Austrians won’t send a French language song…they’ll send something mediocre like last year. Zut alors!

Zoë”s entry is far superior: It is the only one I”ve listened to from beginning to end. It”s an interesting composition with the upclimbing speed of the melody, the enigmatical catchiness and Zoë”s vocal delivery is trés charmant <3 Speaking (about) French: It will raise a lot of eyebrows and draw a lot of attention if Austria competes with a song in French. This one is in the spirit of "Poupee de cire" and "J"aime la vie" and Zoë looks like the gorgeous missing link between France Gall and the young Brigitte Bardot. Zoë is this year"s only chance for… Read more »

Every song is boring, with not a single song standing out as a possible ESC entrant. Otherwise, it’s as if Austria chose the most inoffensive, bland, non-hits it could possibly find to represent the country. As it stands, there isn’t a song in this batch that will get them through to the final. And the ORF exec. and his team who chose these dreadful songs supposedly spent four months scouring the country for ‘the right stuff’. All I can say is they didn’t look hard enough as Austrian musicians write much better songs than these. I’d say it’s time for… Read more »

Not at all awful, but this bunch also doesn’t really inspire me either. It feels like they’ve just chosen generic pop with nothing that would make any waves, other than a couple of songs that try and do something a bit different with mixed results. 8.5 Zoe – Loin d’ici – Repetitive, borderline qualifier, cheese… but I need this to make the ESC. Make it happen, Austria. I like both versions, I like that they didn’t get too insistent with the beat but maybe making it slightly more interesting could’ve been a good thing if they were going to bother… Read more »

OMG, just started to listen to the songs…. I expected the worst.

But Weapons Down already sounds like a song that I imagined winning in May. Pushes every button including my “only teardrops”- and belly-button.

Now listening to Psycho, it is not bad, but not good either…

Has to be Zoe, actually really liked that song! I’m still singing the chorus now. Does anyone know if this is the same Zoe, who entered for Austria last year, and came 3rd?

Awful songs. Guess we’re going to see Austria stuck in the semis again this year. So, no, none of them.

Some decent songs, radio-friendly, but none of them is good for Eurovision. I just can’t imagine them on a big stage.
Also I don’t believe that the Austrians will send Zoe.

I must say that none of them particularly stood out to me as songs worthy of being sent to Stockholm, AzRaH’s was the only one that I can say I kind of liked

It’s funny. France is struggling each year, and Austria will have a very good French song.

I get that the Orf version of Loin d’ici packs more of a punch but omg her album version was such a masterpiece the way it was!

Hello 0 points! 🙂 Hahaha OK, like this: – Bella Wagner – Latvia 2015.2 – Céline Roscheck & Farina Miss – radio-friendly, but a little bit flat. OKish song. Cheesy lyrics. – Elly – modern, like it. Something straight from Top10 worldwide. Something that the likes of Calvin Haris, Naughty Boy and similar would produce. – Lia – not my cup of tea ballad. – Lizza – no. – Orry Jackson – nice, but not for here. Maybe for some Disney movie/cartoon. And that “puzzle” lyric is really awkward as a chorus. Interestingly enough, I would make this song my… Read more »

That version of Zoë’s song isn’t the version she’s singing in the final unfortunately, the one on the ORF website is the 3 minute version and they’ve butchered it and put a horrible beat on it 🙁 wahhhh gutted

Loin d’ici is simply wonderful. Not the usual ESC song, but at the same time very fresh and enjoyable. French is for me a positive factor that’s the reason why I am scared Austrians may not totally like it. Let’s see.

Loin d’ici is so good. It reminds me of Alizee. Singing in French would be a risk, but the song is good enough that I think it could do very well for Austria – and obviously pick up points from France, Switzerland and Belgium.

Good selection on the whole – Austria have really raised their game!
