Yesterday, our team was hard at work covering the first dress rehearsal and the jury final of the first semi-final of Eurovision 2019. Once the curtains closed over the Expo Tel Aviv, the party did not come to an end. Over at the Euro Cafe, fans were treated to performances by two indisputable Eurovision queens. Israel’s 2014 representative Mei Finegold and Finland’s 2013 queen Krista Siegfrids got the party started.
Our Deban and Antranig raced from the press centre to the Euro Cafe for the festivities. They were even treated to a backstage chat with the stars of the show. The party continued long into the night as Mei Finegold treated fans to a medley of songs, finishing off with “Same Heart”. Then Krista Siegfrids started drinking coffee with our mothers and performed “Faller”, “Marry Me” and Eurovision 2005 winning song “My Number One”.
“Same Heart” — Mei Finegold at Euro Cafe
Mei Finegold failed to qualify in 2014 but her legacy lives on as a fan favourite. “Same Heart” was adored by Eurovision fans across Europe. It certainly hasn’t lost its magic five years later and Mei Finegold is still killing it.
Dressed in a sultry black dress, Mei can rock any look while singing “Same Heart”. She even told fans on stage that Conchita once accidentally hit on her husband. That’s #BuildingBridges y’all!
“Marry Me” — Krista Siegfrids at Euro Cafe
Krista Siegfrids was equally delightful, channelling Helena Paparizou realness with her cover of “My Number One”. The performance was a Eurovision fan’s dream come true and she took things to the next level with performances of her own songs “Faller” and “Marry Me”.
Mei and Krista are just two of the many stars who will be performing at Euro Cafe throughout Eurovision week. We’re bound to see more banging performances in the coming days.
What did you think of Mei Finegold and Krista Siegfrids in their respective contests? Are you still listening to “Same Heart” and “Marry Me” all these years later? Let us know in the comments below.

No Hovi Starr around this year? Seems odd when he was such fun in 2016 and usually hangs out with Deben and co.
Mei should at least show up in the contest like Suzy last year.
Israel should have won in 2013 and 2014. Both songs were great.
“Same heart” was one of my favorites entries that year, it sucked it didn’t qualify. And I LOVE Krista’s energy!
