They were 18 acts at the start of the journey through Norway’s musical landscape three weeks ago, and now it’s down to the last 9 acts. On Saturday we will find out who will win the Melodi Grand Prix 2024 grand final and get to represent Norway at Eurovision in Malmö in May.

The running order for the grand final was revealed today as well, and you can see that down below.

Three acts qualified from each of the three semi-finals, but who is your favourite to be crowned king or queen of Norway? Do you fancy Nordic folk rock from Gåte, electro-pop from Eurovision alum Margaret Berger, a 3 metre tall robot Super Rob with best friend Erika Norwich or will it be previous poll favourite KEiiNO?

Who do you want to see winning on Saturday in Trondheim? Go vote in our poll below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Running order of the grand final

  1. KEiiNO – “Damdiggida”
  2. Annprincess – “Save Me”
  3. GOTHMINISTER – “We Come Alive”
  4. Ingrid Jasmin – “Eya”
  5. MIIA – “Green Lights”
  6. Margaret Berger – “Oblivion”
  7. Dag Erik Oksvold & Anne Fagermo – “Judge Tenderly Of Me”
  8. Gåte – “Ulveham”
  9. Super Rob & Erika Norwich – “My AI”

Listen to all songs in Melodi Grand Prix 2024

Who is your favourite in Norway? And do you think one of them can get another top 10 or maybe top 5 result in Malmö? Let us know in the comments below.

Why are people voting for Keiino in this poll just because they are famous & participated @ Eurovision? Their song is not good. GATE is going to win this National final & maybe even the whole contest.

Latest news from Norway is that thes torm Ingunn are causing problems for MGP. The flight with KEiiNO and Gåte among others this evening had to return to Oslo after two failed landing attempts. They then had the night bus from Oslo to Trondheim as an alternative, but that bus has been cancelled are the latest news. As the first performer in the final KEiiNO should have started their tests earlyh tomorrow. So a bit crisis feeling here now …

TEAM GÅTE!! Keiino already had their turn. And they’ve had better songs than this. If they want to “come back and win Eurovision” they need something better than Damdiggida. Gåte is incredible, authentic Norwegian culture, first entry in Norwegian since 2006! Come on!

Going in to this, Gåte were in my 15th position over all and Keiino were 7th. After seeing their respective performances at MGP, Keiino vaulted up to 2nd favourite for me, but Gåte shot straight to my number 1. Keiino are a superb act, no doubt about it. They can really sing and deliver a song, but ultimately it just won’t garner the support at Eurovision they way Spirit In Sky (or even Monument) likely would have. Its the weaker of the three offerings. I do enjoy it though so won’t be mad if it won, just will be disappointed… Read more »

Keiino but i guess they their chance are small now since Norway people can only remember the last act (3 last act qualified in semifinal). So of course i will love to see Keiino win in that first place but it’s impossible now, all the Mgp winner always perform in second to last or last. So i hope My Ai will win if it’s not Keiino, i can’t stand that bland folk rock (or whatever it is), if they send Gate’s song, their faith will look like Spain 2023.

The song “Ulveham” is not in Norwegian. It’s in Ancient Norse, which is closer to Icelandic. If you’d bet 1 Million Euro that nobody could understand the lyrics in Norway, you’ll be rich. Most Norwegians have no idea what the lyrics are about. Here’s an example: The title: “Ulveham” is translated to “Wolf skin” by Google Translate from Norwegian. Which is not wrong, but in Ancient Norse. The title is: “Wolf Curse”. So the song is about a Woman that got turned into a Wolf, and had to drink her brother’s blood to transform back. She accidentally killed her brother,… Read more »

I agree with your analysis too. I do think that Norway will pick Gåte and what reassures me is the fact that MGP doesn’t have an all televoting superfinal anymore, which means that 40% of the final result will be determined by jury and I can see them sinking “My AI”. I also understand that every televoter has only one vote meaning that many votes will get split between Keiino and Super Rob and I expect that there won’t be a runaway televoting winner. Keiino can potentially challenge if they get a good jury result but I’m quite doubtful at… Read more »

Evidently I love Margaret Berger, so it is difficult to be impartial on this final. Trying to be professional, I would have to go with KeiiNO for the most fun performance so far, but “Ulveham” for the most “gripping” performance for sure. But… There are other serious contenders here. If “My AI” softens its staging and makes the robot more loveable (and not a giant pink monster) then I think this could win. Then, there is Gothminster – Never underestimate a good rock scare, especially when it’s well choreographed like that. And finally, there is a lovely duet “Judge Tenderly… Read more »

By just watching the live performance I can immediately say that it’s a Nordic fairytale about a tormented girl lost in the forests of Norway. The way that Gunnhild twists and turns in the dark scenery with images of the Nordic nature in the background tell the story without even speaking the language. I don’t need more. Images often speak stronger. 🙂

All this noise around Gåte will end in disappointment if they go to Eurovision. They’re good but it’s simply not a song for which lambda viewers, which are way more than us fans, will vote a lot. As for Super Rob & Erika I prefer not to think about it.

It’s not a conspiracy theory, I’m not trying to prove that producers want KEiiNO to fail. I just meant that the first spot is rude for one of the favorite. And even though I agree on the fact that the last spot doesn’t necessarily gives you an advantage, you can’t deny that opening the night really isn’t a good thing.
