It’s the final week of heats in Melodifestivalen 2024, where we will find the last finalists Saturday evening live from Löfbergs Arena in Karlstad.

We asked you readers who of the six acts you wanted to go through to the grand final in Stockholm and the results are in.

This week you want all of the M&M’s, because winning the poll are the Norwegian power twins Marcus & Martinus with “Unforgettable”, who got 450 votes or 38.46% of the total votes. In second it’s another M group in the form of Medina and “Que Sera”, who collected 297 votes or 25.38%.

For now it looks like Elecktra and Chelsea Muco would be the ones going into the Final Qualification round, held just after tonight’s heat. The whole format of that will be explained in the live discussion article tonight.

Melfest 2024: Result of the heat 5 poll

  1. Marcus & Martinus – “Unforgettable” – 450 votes – 38.46%
  2. Medina – “Que Sera” – 297 votes – 25.38%
  3. Elecktra – “Banne maj” – 116 votes – 9.91%
  4. Chelsea Muco – “Controlla” – 115 votes – 9.83%
  5. Annika Wickihalder – “Light” – 109 votes – 9.32%
  6. Jay Smith – “Back to My Roots” – 83 votes – 7.09%

Total votes: 1,376

Do you think the poll result reflects the actual result? Who is your favourite in this heat? Let us know in the comments below.

Marcus & Martinus will bring Sweden another 5th place.

Medina could be a better host country entry, just getting everyone to dance. Their song from previous time they were in mello was better though…

In any case, after a couple of years of success, Sweden heads to mid-table results, which is fair to let other countries reach the top positions. So please, juries, do not put Sweden so high again.

As a Swede i am really underwhelmed. Melodifestivalen is not fun. In fact I never liked it very much. I am a fan of Eurovision and just hope melodifestivalen will produce a good winner. However this year there is not a song that will end up in top ten. I think Sweden should send a joke entry like many of the others instead . I would in fact like to send Gunilla.

You should have a little faith and hope in your own entries

I actually like Annika and Jay most. They’re different. The worst one is the drag queen. Other three sound the same. My top for this evening: 1. Annika. 2. Jay. 3. M&M. 4. Chelsea. 5. Medina. 6. Elecktra. I really dislike both Medina and Elecktra.

I think Marcus & Martinus are so overrated, and the heteronormative lyrics to the song really belong to the early 2000’s

They are the best in the heat so no shock there. Also our potential winners?
I also think Jay Smith could surprise and squeeze in a qualification.
The only song I think stands ni chance is Electra.

After listening to the whole of the selected songs across the last month ive been left really unimpressed. If i had to pick one at this stage that i thought was ok it was Jacqline effordless. Other than that i think the selectors have put no effort in at all this year.

Yeah that’s about as completely and utterly predictable as I think a melo heat could be.
