Long gone are the days when Eurovision primarily consisted of solo acts. After years of yearning for more groups at the contest, the duos, trios, and bands are now well and truly an integral part of the show.

This rise is particularly thanks to the outstanding results some groups delivered over recent years. In 2021, Måneskin won the crystal microphone and became a global sensation when their Eurovision song, “Zitte e buoni”, topped charts across Europe and beyond. In addition, Ukrainian folktronica band Go_A still perform at numerous festivals each year.

Eurovision 2024 is slightly down in the number of duos and groups compared to other recent editions. This year, four groups and five duos appear at the contest, in addition to Estonia’s unique combination of a group and a duo. There’s a lot of quality to be found and many of these acts have already emerged as early favourites.

We want to hear from you. Which of these duos or groups peaks your interest the most? Can any of them go all the way and take home the trophy like Måneskin?

Take a listen to each of the songs below. Then scroll down to vote in our poll.

Groups and duos at Eurovision 2024

Armenia: LADANIVA – “Jako”

Armenia’s LADANIVA combine more than just artists. It’s a group that combines countries and styles. Consisting of Armenian-born and Belarusian-raised Jaklin Baghdasaryan with French-born Louis Thomas, Ladaniva will sing “Jako” in Malmö.

Australia: Electric Fields – “One Milkali (One Blood)”

After an earlier attempt, Electric Fields have finally managed to make it to the Eurovision Song Contest for Australia. The electropop group will bring a treat to Sweden, performing their song “One Milkali (One Blood)” — which features lyrics in Yankunytjatjara, an Australian Aboriginal language.

Azerbaijan: Fahree feat. Ilkin Dovlatov – “Özünlə apar”

Azerbaijan will be represented by Baku-born musician Fakhri Ismayilov — better known as Fahree — and Azeri mugham singer Ilkin Dovlatov, who was added to the act later. The duo will sing “Özünlə apar”, the first time that Azerbaijan will sing almost fully in Azerbaijani.

Estonia: 5miinust x Puuluup – “(Nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi”

In addition to bringing one of the longest song titles to ever appear at Eurovision — “(Nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi” — Estonia is also bringing a unique combination of two groups. Hip hop group 5miinust will duet nu-folk duo Puuluup in this entry.

Finland: Windows95Man (feat. Henri Piispanen) – “No Rules!”

Although credited purely as a solo artist, Windows95Man is joined by singer Henri Piispanen throughout his performance of “No Rules!”. Hence, we’re classing them as a duo for the purposes of this poll. Henri also co-wrote the song.

Norway: Gåte – “Ulveham”

Folk music band Gåte will represent Norway at this year’s Eurovision following their victory at Melodi Grand Prix. The group will sing “Ulveham” (Wolf pelt), a reinterpretation of the medieval Norwegian ballad “Møya i ulveham” (“The maiden in a wolf pelt”).

San Marino: MEGARA – “11:11”

After a nail-biting final of Una voce per San Marino, the micronation’s national final, Spanish group MEGARA proved victorious with their song “11:11”. In 2023, the group had competed in Benidorm Fest, but finished fourth overall. They describe their style as “fucsia rock”.

Spain: Nebulossa – “ZORRA”

Whilst MEGARA were competing in the 2023 Spanish selection, Nebulossa tried their luck in San Marino last year. Then in 2024, the duo consisting of real-life couple Mery Bas and Mark Dasousa, sensationally won Benidorm Fest with “ZORRA” — an empowerment anthem.

Sweden: Marcus & Martinus – “Unforgettable”

Norwegian twin brothers Marcus & Martinus have been a stronghold in Scandipop over the past decade. Ever since winning Melodi Grand Prix Junior in 2012, they have been strongly tipped to do Eurovision. After losing out to the ticket last year, they managed to win Melodifestivalen this year with “Unforgettable” and will represent the host nation in Malmö.

Ukraine: alyona alyona & Jerry Heil – “Teresa & Maria”

After three attempts, Jerry Heil has finally managed to represent her country, Ukraine, at Eurovision. She will do this with rap star alyona alyona — with whom she has frequently collaborated in the past. The two women will sing their hit “Teresa & Maria”, an ode to womanhood.

Viis Miinust ja Puuluup “(nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi” — Estonia and Australia with Electric Fields “One Milkali” are my favorites, although “Happy 2000 and Whatever” by EF from years ago was a shoe-in for success at ESC.

My top 3 out of these would be 3 . Azebaijan 2. Norway 1. Armenia… But for the life of God why is Armenia advertising arguably the best Russian car ever? Haven’t they heard that they switched sides just last year?

They adopted the name years ago. Now this car is being produced in Azerbaijan which brings shame, too. Both of their parents had the same car which was a common thing. Agree that they have to change the name. However, technicalities linked to rebranding may not play out in their favour right before the contest. Who changes a brand overnight?

Haha what?! Oh the shame! 😉
You know, for the longest time I wanted to own one. I just adore how Lada Niva looks design wise, very timelesd if you ask me. I however snapped out of it 10 or so years ago.

Looks like unpopular, but I enjoy listening Azerbaijan’s song the most. It’s my 3rd fav.

Voted Norway also. Armenia catches me too. I love watching Sweden’s performance, but the song is too generic and basic.

Ukraine is my favourite country at Eurovision, but it’s too hard for me to like the song this year.

All the rest are big skip for me.
