Three countries of the former Yugoslavia are participating in Eurovision 2024 and all of them are making waves among fans. Each of their songs brings a unique Balkan flair, showcases the artist’s talents, and carries a strong message. One thing is for sure: all these entries will leave a lasting impression.
Croatia will be represented by Baby Lasagna with the song “Rim Tim Tagi Dim”, which alludes to the country’s ongoing dilemma of youth emigration. The song was originally on the reserve list of Croatia’s national selection and only made it onto the roster after another contestant dropped out. Baby Lasagna has since shot to fame and his song is now all over the airwaves.
Serbia is sending Teya Dora, who will perform her song “Ramonda”, a ballad about finding hope and resilience amidst conflict – just like the ramonda flower, a national symbol of Serbia. Teya Dora has already made quite the name for herself as a singer-songwriter on the global music scene, most notably for her song “Džanum” (Dear) which went viral on social media.
Slovenia will be represented by Raiven with her electro-opera song “Veronika”, whose lyrics are inspired by a Slovenian legend. Raiven is already well known in her country as an opera singer, songwriter, and harpist. She’s been aspiring to perform at Eurovision for some time, having competed in Slovenia’s national selection EMA three times prior.

Well, this year EX-YU countries have the best songs. It is really hard to chose, but I think my fave is Serbia
Veronika really grew on me and her live shows have been amazing! I’m confident that she’ll get Slovenia its best place ever (so far)

How can someone (Croatia) be even considered as “full package ” when he has terrible voice, complete lack of any vocal skills, song with cringe asf lyrics and basic childish 2 chords melody… some fans are so desperate for repeated kaarija #2 effect (as a “revenge” for Loreens win lol) so they will embrace any kind of garbage… literally, scrapping from bottom of the barrel with this sh*t… lol

I don’t agree that ex-YU block is particularly strong this year. In fact, only Croatia’s entry is strong. “Ramonda” is one of the Serbian weaker entries. Concerning “Veronika”, the song isn’t televote-friendly at all so I won’t be surprised if Slovenia even doesn’t qualify.

Croatia so overrated by some ESC fan and betting odds.
Croatia is the full package, Slovenia is great, Serbia is tolerable but too lifeless.
The whole package includes vocal. People have to be honest and realistic. No meter how much we like or dislike some songs, FACTS are FACTS. Baby Lasagna might bring fun to many people, but he is below average vocalist, and even worse in live.
“FACTS” are not “FACTS”. You’re just being emotional. Consult a book …or three.
In terms of studio cuts, Croatia is my favorite this year, but going by the overall appeal of the entry including the live performances, Slovenia takes it. Serbia’s entry… I just don’t really warm up to it thus far.
You know something went wrong when there is only 3 countries left in this category. I hope to see Montenegro, North Macedonia and maybe Bosnia & Herzegovina (who knows) back one day.
I don’t really have a favorite here. I know Croatia seems to be the obvious choice for a lot of people but not for me. The 3 countries are all between the 10th and 15th place of my ranking. All of them have good songs, but I’m not a big fan.

All three are spectacular and into my top 15, however the title of the best out of these easily goes to Croatia.
Off topic, what is going on with Belgium, i saw performance from last night and it felt like that wouldn’t Q from Moldova national final ( nothing against Moldova, love Tudor). Is it just that he is anxious, tired , sleepless. I love Belgium this year and really hope for top 5-10 , but now im scared for my boy:(
