Believe it or not, we’re already on to day four of rehearsals. On Tuesday, the final eight semi-finalists will have their first rehearsals on the Eurovision 2024 stage. They’re the acts competing in the second half of the second semi-final.

They’ll have 30 minutes to test out the stage to see how their graphics and camera angles are coming together. It will also allow them to start working out their jitters as they fill the arena with their voices for the very first time.

Throughout the day the EBU will release photos and short TikTok snippets. We’ll try to update this post as things drop. Regardless, please share your thoughts in the comments section throughout the day!

Eurovision 2024 rehearsal schedule | Day 4 (Tuesday 30 April)

Here’s the full Eurovision rehearsal schedule for Tuesday 30 April. All times are in CEST.

  • 10:30 — 11:00 Latvia
  • 11:10 — 11:40 San Marino
  • 11:50 — 12:20 Georgia
  • 12:30 — 13:00 Belgium
  • 14:10 — 14:40 Estonia
  • 14:50 — 15:20 Israel
  • 15:30 — 16:00 Norway
  • 16:10 — 16:40 Netherlands

Eurovision 2024 rehearsals | Day 4

9. 🇱🇻 Latvia: Dons – “Hollow”

@eurovision On his first rehearsal for Latvia, @Dons delivers a vocal that is set to silence Malmö Arena 🇱🇻 #Eurovision2024 ♬ original sound – Eurovision

Dons is taking his song title to heart by bringing a giant hollow circle prop with him. The Latvian singer begins the performance inside it as the LED behind has red and pink hues. Then during the chorus, the multitude of lights on the ceiling get to work. Dons has upgraded his standard blue outfit by adding a chest plate with defined muscles on it.

10. 🇸🇲 San Marino: MEGARA – “11:11”

@eurovision Punk, pyro and a hell of a lot of pink! @MEGARA have touched down in Malmö 🇸🇲 #Eurovision2024 ♬ original sound – Eurovision

Naturally, the main colour theme for MEGARA’s performance is pink and black. The band all have varying outfits in these colours, with vocalist Kenzy’s costume including spikes that run down her spine. They’re accompanied by two dancers who are initially dressed up a fluffy rabbits in fur coats and masks — these are then removed to reveal skeleton costumes with fluffy boots. The LED screen showcases some cartoon graphics, and it’s all topped off with plenty of pyro.

11. 🇬🇪 Georgia: Nutsa Buzaladze – “Firefighter”

@eurovision A piping-hot performance, but nothing our resident Firefighter @Nutsabuza can’t handle 🇬🇪 #Eurovision2024 ♬ original sound – Eurovision

Wearing an amber-coloured outfit with matching gloves, Nutsa lights up the stage like the embers of a fire. The Georgian star begins the performance on a circular platform with an explosion on the LED screen behind her. She’s later joined by four backing dancers in black attire who lift her at various points. There’s plenty of actual fire in the performance as well, with the pyro doing overtime in the dance break. It all ends with Nutsa back on her podium, which raises her up for a grand conclusion.

12. 🇧🇪 Belgium: Mustii – “Before the Party’s Over”

@eurovision Belgium has had its first rehearsal and it’s a multiple mic-drop from @Mustii 🇧🇪 #Eurovision2024 ♬ original sound – Eurovision

Those who were fans of Mustti’s music video for “Before the Party’s Over” will be pleased to know that he’s brought the circle of microphones with him to Eurovision — and this one even spins around whilst Mustii sings in the middle. The Belgian singer later steps out from it and comes to the front of the stage for the crescendo to the final moments of the song. Fashion wise, Mustii has opted for a sparkly see-though top in combination with white trousers and shirt.

13. 🇪🇪 Estonia: 5MIINUST x Puuluup – “(nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi”

@eurovision UuuuyEEEE! The @5MIINUST x @Puuluup party has arrived at first rehearsals in Malmö 🇪🇪 #Eurovision2024 ♬ original sound – Eurovision

Most performers don’t stray away from the confines of the stage. But 5MIINUST x Puuluup have decided to begin their Eurovision performance off stage by the crowd — no doubt ensuring the three minutes has an infectious energy right from the start. The rest of the rehearsal also looks very similar to their antics from Eesti Laul, with the iconic dance move still in place.

14. 🇮🇱 Israel: Eden Golan – “Hurricane”

@eurovision @EDEN GOLAN has had her very first run-through of Hurricane as rehearsals continue in Malmö 🇮🇱 #Eurovision2024 ♬ original sound – Eurovision

Eden performs in an off-white dress with five backing dancers. They start inside a ring that has additional lights around the edge, then move forward onto the main stage. The dancers perform a contemporary routine around and with Eden, holding her and interacting with her dress at points.

15. 🇳🇴 Norway: Gåte – “Ulveham”

@eurovision Fireflies, guitar throwing, a spinning rock platform… Malmö is living for @GÅTE dark woodscape 🇳🇴 #Eurovision2024 ♬ original sound – Eurovision

As many expected, Gåte have brought very similar staging from their Melodi Grand Prix performance. There are some slight enhancements: the main one being that Gunnhild’s rotating podium is now slightly larger. The LEDs in the background show various nature graphics of tree stumps and waves — we’ll have to wait for the camera cuts to see if they still have the on-screen graphics as well. Overall, it’s still looking just as powerful as it was when they won the national final.

16. 🇳🇱 Netherlands: Joost Klein – “Europapa”

@eurovision Welkom in Europa! @joost is bringing it all together in rehearsals 🇳🇱 #Eurovision2024 ♬ original sound – Eurovision

After much speculation, and some big teasing, we finally have a glimpse of Joost Klein’s staging. He’s wearing his trademark blue suit with giant shoulders, but the rest is probably not what anyone expected. The Dutch star is joined on stage by a big blue bird at a keyboard and two backing dancers in white tracksuits. The LEDs showcase a variety of graphics — the world, tourist destinations in Europe, local delicacies and a “missing graphics” display. It’s definitely adding even more quirky aspects to the already fun song.

At this point after watching all these vidoes I will honestly vote for any contestant who doesn’t use the words ‘super excited’ to describe their feelings before going on stage

* Israel – I really like the song and performance, it’s haunting, but it will be NQ because public will punish it due to the context.

* Belgium – Doesn’t appear to be enough going on, afraid it will NQ

* Estonia also a risk of NQ – if not for Europapa, it would probably get the quirky vote, but those voters will prefer Joost.

Super excited for Israel. I said I would vote 20 times for Israel if Eden Golan’s vocals were on point. It sounds even better LIVE! This is a winner to me. I will vote 20 times in semi 2 and iin the final for Eden!

We are humans, I know it’s hard to believe. Israelis have life, brains and souls too. It’s clear that you, Wiwi and all the other haters are out of your mind to delegitimize our existence, but here we are, same old Jews, smart, proud and unapologetic. We will defend our country, our freedom and we will compete in the ESC whether you like it or not.

Israel have exceeded my imagination. Eden looks serene and dignified, understatedly majestic and carrying the feelings and expectations of an entire nation and beyond.

The beautiful and minimalistic colour palette with light and gold as a symbol for hope. That perfect, amazing voice. The wheel shape made by Eden looks amazing!! The choreo reminds of the music video concept, hopefully the show will carry more incredibly thoughtful and meaningful elements. It’s beyond gorgeousness and perfection!! <3 <3 <3

So, Joost’s snippet is out. From what I see, it’s fine! But I need to see the whole on-screen performance to judge. I also feel that it will be a bit flat just him and the two dancers (should that be the case) on the stage with giant visuals behind them. The chicken DJ could have been avoided. I can’t rule Europapa out yet. I also noticed that they cleverly did not show much of the show in the snippet. Let’s wait and see if the final outcome is over the top or not. How to put the lyrics of Norways «Ulveham» into relevant social context: The song is about being invaded on a personal level by a familiar force, and resistance. The maiden is being cursed by her jealous stepmother (who is the witch in this story) and to liberate yourself from this invasion you have to fight back even though there will be blood spilled. Which of the events going on in Europe does this sound familiar? Gåte have themselves said that the «screaming» (other peoples use of word) is actually a CALLING, a calling for liberation and freedom. I definitely specifically… Read more »

From the rest of the songs (before NL and NO came out), I found Eden Golan’s performance and staging very good; I also like the chores.

Belgium keeps disappointing a bit. The song is very good, but Mustii seems to struggle in general; I don’t know why. He looks as if he struggles to sing or he overperforms. A balance is needed.

Estonia and San Marino are a big no for me; I am sorry.

Also the images on the screen you can change at the last moment. No need for rehearsing that.

And we saw the last shot of all songs, but we didn’t see the last shot of Joost. Will be a surprise.

Why do you have to act as a child when someone expresses their opinion of a song? I am so not going to vote for the Netherlands this time, and many won’t vote either just because of people like you. Joost would be so thankful to you for cutring off his points.

if every country has shown a snippet of their performance, why would NL get special treatment and hide their surprise for the show… how is that fair to other participants?

It’s not among my favourite songs, not even in top 10, but I feel Norway will takes it all and I’ll be satisfied somehow.

Since Israel and Latvia have similar stages, I just hope Israel will not completely eat Latvia’s chances for final. Both songs are my 5th and 6th favourites.

Still rooting for my very favourite Mustii though.

The rest of today’s group don’t grab me. I’ll be just happy to see Georgia in the final.

Norway’s band looks so professional, serious, and real musicians compared to most other acts. They even outshine some of the other acts because they are that good. This will be top 3 in the semi. Good job, Norway.

I’m just sad for my man Dons, his staging was completely overshadowed by everyone else’s today. Israel as well, nothing really special on stage, the prop is really similar to Latvia’s. Belgium is reusing the videoclip concept which I think it works. San Marino and Megara was the greatest surprise today, their visuals look EXCEPTIONAL. Estonia, as expected, polished their National Final stagin, which I already loved before. Unlike most in here it seems, I’m enjoying Joost’s staging a lot and I have a great feeling he’s trying to troll us. Definitely televote winner-worthy, in my opinion. The most fun… Read more »

Tomorrow morning Norway will be top 5 in the odds. Everything pales from today’s rehearsal compared to them. And i thought Keiino was robbed. I was wrong. Very good choice Norge , bravo

There won’t be much movements in the odds before they rehearse for the 2nd time. And even though their song is good, ai don’t see Norway making to the top 5 but I could be wrong. I would be very happy for them if they manage to pull it.

Croatia OR Italy will win…

Shoul be Israel but some Juries are not going to be PROFESSIONAL.

This is not Eurovision POLITICAL contest.

Marlinken

The politics are important. It’s important to make sure that a show about pleasure and joy isn’t used by regimes who want to present a false face to a billion viewers. That’s why we threw out Russia and Belarus. But even with all of that to one side, there’s no universe in which Israel’s song is at the same level as many of the other songs this year. It’s a manufactured ballad of the type the UK used to give to X Factor winners TWENTY years ago. There’s nothing new or engaging there.

I think none of the juries will award Israel 8-12 points, just to avoid saying Israel. Maybe just 1-7 points which are on screen.

Croatia and Italy? Maybe, they do have a chance and it’s legit. Israel? No way of entering top 3 yet winning lol Israeli song is mediocre at best. Eden vocal is good, but nothing wow, nor she Is the best vocalist this year (at least 10 of other artists are vocaly way ahead of her). Either way, may the best win, whoever that is.

So if NL’s staging is legit, or hiding bits until semi or trolling it’s cringe either way. Even trolling can be done better than this.

And after that, Angelina can win the Eurovision. If she has a decent outfit and a decent performance. Italy has high chances! 1. Norway is like Melodi Grand Prix, top 10 for sure 2. Netherlands, I knew that he is going to be a funny entry (but its not an ugly entry) 3. Belgium was very decent. He will qualify of course. 4. Israel. The girl can sing. She has probably the best voice this year, clear-strong. If this song was last year, then it would have been easily in top 10. 5. The best and the most decent performance… Read more »

Pink Flamingos and Blue Chickens put paid to the idea that CH and NL are not novelty acts.

Norway looked pure class.
