Just days after Malmö police failed to apprehend a terrifying chihuahua, the host city of Eurovision 2013 has witnessed a mass brawl involving around 200 people.
The incident unfolded in a parking lot in Oxie, outside of Malmö, on August 18. According to Dagens Nyheter ten people attacked four others “with knives, bats and boards, and some 30 policemen were sent to the scene to stop the fight.” Word of mouth led other locals to join the brawl. The paper says two people have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault.
Ambulances carried at least three people to University Hospital in Malmö for treatment. Authorities, fearful that the brawls may continue inside medical facilities, have blocked access to certain emergency clinics.
