On February 14 German voters head to the polls to pick the winner of Unser Song für Malmö, the German national selection. Judging from the spate of glossy videos contestants have produced this year, it’s going to be a glitzy affair!
Who do you want German voters to fall in love with on Valentine’s Day? You can listen to each of the songs below and then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many contestants as you would like, but you can only vote one time. Be sure to click the box next to ever contestant you want to support.
You can also vote for your favourite on the ARD web site. Votes from fans will be shown on the scoreboard during Germany’s national final.
Ben Ivory – The Righteous Ones
Betty Dittrich – Lalala
Blitzkids mvt. – Heart On The Line
Cascada – Glorious
Finn Martin – Change
LaBrassBanda – Nackert
Mobilée – Little Sister
Nica & Joe – Elevated
Die Priester feat. Mojca Erdmann – Ave Maris Stella
Saint Lu – Craving
Söhne Mannheims – One Love
Mia Diekow – Lieblingslied
Is the international fan vote at all significant compared with German votes?
Germans themselves might have largely conservative tastes. If recent entries are any guide, neither Cascada (or anything saccharine) nor Ben Ivory (or anything unconventional) will be the favourite.
But the new selection process might result in a new direction as well.
“Glorious” is trash. I’m hoping Germany resist the urge to pick the big name and go for something a bit more original. My vote is for Ben Ivory, but I like Die Priester as well.
Cascada has a lot of Fans, but when it comes to the ESC final in Malmö she can not win because her song isn’t very special.
My favourites are Betty Dittrich and Mia Diekow
Even Glorious isn’t a Wonder… i do Love and Support Cascada, Impossible to not love Natalie Horler!!! Viva Cascada
It is indeed a fantastic line-up — So much so that I felt guilty about only voting for one on the ARD site. But I resisted the urge to pick one of the underdogs to balance things out, and went with what seems the inevitable choice. That would be Ben Ivory, of course. While I do have qualms about the negative undercurrent it plays to, it is outwardly positive, and there’s no denying the quality writing or power of the arrangement. Close second, Mia Diekow. Quirky, varied, and fun. It has a catchy chorus, and it’s great to listen to,… Read more »
Euphoria was great, Glorious is just average compared to this song.
In germany Cascada isn’t that hot, they egnore her for years in the music scène….
I should Go for Ben Ivory – The Righteous Ones
I like Ben Ivory, Blitzkids mvt., Cascada, Mobilee and Saint Lu. Although Ben Ivory’s and Blitzkids’ songs are interesting and could do great at Eurovision, I think Cascada will win because she’s known in Europe. Remember “Everytime we touch” and “Evacuate the dancefloor”? 🙂
Go figure – Cascada are leading the poll by a mile with their mediocre schlager effort. LOL
There are so many great songs in this NF that it is hard picking a favourite! I personally like Ben Ivory the best, although Betty Dittrich, Blitzkids Mvt, Mia Diekow, Mobilée and Saint Lu are also great.
