Patrick: Urgh… We only saw 30 seconds of Softengine’s performance but what I heard is not what I wanted. The voices sound really horrible, especially the screaming of the lead-singer. I’m not a big fan of the staging. It fits their performance, but I expected a bit more than an LED-storm. I really hope they will improve their vocals and their performance. I like the song and I think they should go to the final….if they can deliver a great performance!
Sami: I’m little dissappointed. Topi’s vocals sound very weak and it seems that he’s losing his voice at the end of this clip. I like the staging, the lights look cool and their clothes looks nice, but they really need to work on the overall performance. I think it has a chance to get to the final, but Topi really needs to work on his vocals.
Wiwi: I like Topi’s glittering jacket. I don’t like his lackluster vocals. This has the potential to do really well, but only if he starts drinking peppermint tea with honey. The rasp needs to go!

The vocals are VERY, VERY poor. If they do not improve in time, Softengine could very easily fail to qualify. 🙁 Which would be a shame but I want them to do what Denmark did with a similar song in 2011. Break into the top 5 when no one expected them to.
Finland could be in trouble and miss out on the final again if they don’t work on the vocals. Major work is needed to secure qualification.
So far none of the artists have really lived up to my expectations vocally. Not even Aram, Freaky Fortunes, Sanna or Kasey. The acts that people want to win this year.
I’m not sure the “Led Storm” is all they have for a background. Last week a video was uploaded to youtube that showed what might have been their full background – and it was absolutely stunning, a bit like the Killers at the MTV awards. Maybe the “storm” is only for the last chorus? Anyway I think it’s a great song that should easily qualify.
I think Finland will qualify!
