Ruth Lorenzo, the spicy singer who represented Spain at Eurovision 2014, has said that she would like to return to the musical extravaganza in the next three years.
The Spanish diva, who brought Spain back to the top 10 with “Dancing in the Rain”, told RTVE that she wants to go all the way to the top by 2017.
“I would like to repeat [the experience],” she said. “The production and the technical staff were impressive and I really enjoyed the festival.”
Ruth, who spoke with us on the red carpet at Eurovision, would like to perform a song in a completely different style next time. As you’ll recall, her ballad “Dancing in the Rain” was originally a dance track that she wanted to give to Danii Minogue.
She apologized for not having come back to Spain with a win: “We did everything we could,” she said. “Thank goodness I equaled my friend Pastora Soler – Spain 2012 — and reached the top 10.”
Ruth also congratulated Conchita Wurst, who now has a sausage, an ice cream, and a seal named after her.
“I am very happy for Conchita’s win, for her and for what it represents. We are free in this part of Europe, we have freedom of speech and everyone loves whoever.”

If there would still be a national finals in Spain by that year, why not? Who knows if she would qualify again and represent Spain during that year for the second time or not.
Once is enough.
represent UK please!
Yes please! And let’s not forget that she’s the BEST English speak to ever represent Spain!!
If she will back in Eurovision 2017 again. I hope she bring a song with Spanish full. Don’t English-Spanish again.
no, she have her chance and spain needs new singers
Ruth is the perfect singer for eurovision.”Dancing in the rain” was a top 10 song but not for winning. I can´t wait to see her in 2017 with the correct song.
Yes I really want her back in Eurovision. She has what it takes to take the crown for Spain !!
No. She’s had her chance. Now let other artists have a try. Thank you, Ruth, but this was it.
Hace una semana me entere en concierto de Brequette Cassy, que ella tenia la plaza fija el proximo año en Viena.Os imaginais?…RUTH forever
please come back
If the song is good, then I dont see why she shouldnt come back. There were many ballads this year that had similar stage production on the night, such as Sweden and Uk which may have stopped the song being as successful as it could have been. Top 10 is a good position for Spain, and if they keep working hard like they did this year and stop sending flops like in 2008 or borefests like 2013, then I dont see why Spain wont win again.
She’s got a beautiful voice, and the song deserved to rank higher. I hope she’ll be more successful next time.
I love her. Ruth is so funny and a great person. Her voice is huge! She needs a strong song next time so why not? Although i believe it’s wisely to just focus on your career from now on and let Eurovision aside.
Yes, I would like to see her back and with a better song. I’m think she’s a great singer with a powerful voice, and at the end I did like Dancing in the Rain, I think it was a competitive song but… I’m still convinced it wasn’t the best, I think she has a lot more potential, all she needs is a song that truly makes her shine.
