On Monday we expressed concerns that Sophia Patsalides’ staging wasn’t as captivating as we had hoped. Well today she proved that she was on to a good thing — and now she’s made it even better. Miss Patsalides wore a sheer white cape, which looks pretty amazing in the light. It reminds us of the outfit that Christina Metaxa wore for Cyprus at the adult Eurovision back in 2009. As you can see in the second Instagram video below, Sophia loves moving around in it in the light. The cape catches the wind and the light, and transforms Sophia into some sort of Cypriot goddess. Her dancing was more energetic today, and boy did she work that runway. She walks its entire length — and with some major attitude that wiwibloggs can appreciate — before closing her song at the end of said runway. The storm continues to rage on the LED backdrop. Taken together with Sophia’s new look, it really blew us away. She’s back in the race, y’all!

Cyprus stands out. It looks for top 3 now, with Malta and Netherlands.

I’m usually in favour of simple stagings, but for a song like Sophia’s I think the stage looks rather empty with only her in it, reminds me of Sofi Marinova in 2012.
However the song is great, her live performance sounds great and she’s an amazing dancer, she has the attitude! So I’m hoping the best for her! C’mon Sophia! Prove me wrong, you don’t need any back up dancers to make your performance stand out 😉
